  1. Shot clock is way over due. If you can't get a quality shot off in 45 seconds, your offense sucks.
  2. What's the deal with Sequoyah? What happened between them and Central to not be on the schedule?
  3. They'll be fine. I'd tweak the scheduling if I were JG. No doubt in my mind that they played the toughest AAA schedule in the state.
  4. Doug Armstrong at McMinn Central has dominated that district for years.... Multiple state tourney appearances as well
  5. I'd expect something after all of the regional meetings are over with this week.
  6. Lol you obviously didn't watch the FC passing game this season. They don't have the receivers, QB, or line to run the spread. Smith knew that, the assistant coaches knew that, and the players knew that. Any straight drop to pass resulted in a sack 90% of the time. That's why they had to roll the qbs all season. As for all the athletes, FC has a few. I watched a lot of FC football this past season and 8 of the 10 teams the rebels played had better athletes than FC. The only two teams FC overmatched with athletes was Lincoln and Tullahoma. Even winless Columbia had better athletes that FC. Smith is a good guy, wish him well in the future.
  7. Beech very well might score on every possession in which they don't turn the ball over. SC plays no defense at all. They piled 10 in the box last week and couldn't stop a FC team that came in averaging 13 points per game .Teams that don't put up points, put up points on the Eagles all year long. The Shelbyville offense is good and balanced. The question is can Beech stop SC?IMO Indy will be the only 5-5A school that wins a playoff game for the second year in a row.
  8. As we all know, arrogant ignorance freely flows from a certain portion of the SP faithful. Hopefully they do get in the playoffs and make a run, but they will forfeit all the games that the player in question was a part of. A precedent has already been set, and the TSSAA will stand pat. Personally I don't think it's fair to SP, being that the TSSAA declared the student eligible initially. Somewhere along the line, someone at SP didn't divulge/didn't know all of the info to the TSSAA and its gonna come back to bite them.
  9. They're going 1-9 (or however many games the player in question was a part of) and getting ready for basketball season. Chester Co. initially had their player approved by the TSSAA. It wasn't until later that it was brought to the attention off the TSSAA by, I'm assuming South Gibson, that their transfer was in violation of the TSSAA bylaw. Look, I don't think a school should be penalized for playing a player that to their knowledge is eligible. IMO SP doesn't "deserve" to forfeit the games, but they are going to.
  10. You are 100% correct. Chester County had to forfeit games this year for not complying with this rule. Since the kid was sent to alternative school for disciplinary reasons, by rule he would have to sit a year or satisfy the "term" given to him. I don't see how he could be eligible. http://www.jacksonsun.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2016/09/19/tssaa-explains-chester-co-forfeits/90719622/
  11. If Stone goes AA, what do you think the TSSAA does with the Cookeville, Warren, White, Rhea district since it will lose two teams?
  12. Mt. Juliet coaches or administration don't have to sign off on anything. This isn't the NCAA. Some of you dimwits are trying to make this like the Alabama kid that transferred to UGA. If the kid moved addresses to another district in good academic standing and had no behavior issues then he is eligible. Sounds like East Nashville needs to get their ducks in a row. High school coaches and admins don't sign off on any transfers. Get a clue people.
  13. At least in football it's just every other year. There are some districts in West TN that have some legit hauls to make i.e. Lawrenceburg, Hardin Co.
  14. You make some good points FC22... good food for thought
  15. Yeah and Tullahoma and Coffee are a combined 4-26 over the past 2 seasons.
  16. You obviously haven't walked the halls of Franklin County. 99% of the athletes couldn't even tell you who the athletic director is. That's a pretty asinine comment.
  17. There is not 1 "great athlete" or any athlete that has fled Franklin County High School in the last 4 years that is legitimately contributing to a football program somewhere else.
  18. It's a great rule. There is a game every monday night for 2nd and 3rd string, and it is called JV.
