  1. is coach Johnson still the head coach at warren county? They have several athletes that could be difference makers this year, this is the fourth year in the program, should be showing some results for a turnaround...good luck pioneers!
  2. Collinwood will play Moore county this Friday at 6:30 @ Moore county, should be a test for both teams, both region champs...be careful coming up Collinwood, travel safe
  3. Donovan and Murphy, Chip and all of the guys do a great job on covering the entire state, pre-season is always about speculation because there have been no games played yet...they are they to inform, speculate and incite discussion...that is what they get paid for, to get people and fans involved, I know all three guys well and they are great at their jobs
  4. tell you what, I have no idea what Cleveland's line looks like but they have one of the most athletic teams I have seen in some time., they were in Tennessee tech 7 v 7 camp on Friday of last week and they were impressive, coach Crawford does a great job of coaching his kids and coaches and they looked very impressive....five may be to look to rank them
  5. Jeremy bosken, very bright, very knowledgable and is starting from scratch. Look for them to be very improved this year and to get better as the year goes along. They r in a super talented region with Boone, sh and db just to mention a few. Good luck coach bosken, a 500 season is not out of reach if injuries don't reach critical mass!
  6. great idea, it will help lots of teams that play week #0, it will also allow for an even better time to pace practices to allow coaches to better take care of their athletes...thank you tssaa
  7. glad coach hughes is doing ok, I thought he did a good job as a first year head coach, maybe coach busbee will be able to lend some stability to the football program, the kids certainly deserve it...good luck this year raiders
  8. they have a division one quarterback who would be a difference on any level, they are coached very well and have a lot of experience returning...sounds like a great formula
  9. is mike mizer still not the head football coach at Columbia academy, is lansdell just an assistant or is he the new head coach
  10. Heard through the rumor mill that richland has a new head football coach.....i thought the guy did a great job for a first year coach, has there been a change or is last years coach still there? Any help would be appreciated and i apologize in advance if this is all a rumor
  11. congrats jackets, sounds like you got your man, maybe a year late but you got who you want never the less...kick tail and good luck!
  12. thanks HTV, which just proves the point that the right guy makes everything else fine also, had hoped coach harrison would have worked out
  13. grew up in that area and cheatam county was always full of tough hard nosed football players. It is a shame that whatever is going on is messing with the sports so bad, in the end it is the kids that eventually pay the price, tough to make a man work for very little just to be a football coach, sounds like getting someone that lives nearby would be a good choice...to late, like many of the schools in metro nashville are finding out the hard way what a lack of concern for sports does to the overall moral of the school in general, seems like everyone has to find out the hard way
  14. sounds like you guys have several really good guys from the kingston family that are prepared to take over and inspire the jackets....maybe one of the three guys will come home and inspire the troops again...i bet you have a new head coach by the middle of next week...be easy on the home town guy and give him some time to change the culture
  15. I had heard that coach harrison had applied for other jobs. From the outside looking in it looks like a great place to live, great community, what happened that made things go so wrong, i heard the numbers were really down, was it just not a good match or was he not given much of a chance, i know the only tough part is having Alcoa and CAK in your region but the right guys welcomes that opportunity and is not scared of it. Just wondered what happened that made such a bad marriage...i know if you go through most programs in the state except for a very few rarely do you have a graduate coaching the local team to any success, i think quarles is a home town guy but i may be wrong, but most of the time due to pure limitations of graduates from a school limits the number of really good qualified coaches that can really take the job an run and be successful. I would try to find a heavy hitter that can strategize against rankin and smith, tall order no matter who you get. Good luck jackets you will get a good coach, hope you get what you want ...sometimes it is just the opposite with home town boys...it is rough when things do not go well and the pressure is on their shoulders to set the standard very high, tough when you go to school with, church with, see them and their mom and dad at the grocery store....sometimes people get nasty....fast
  16. Or, u could just get the best most qualified coach from the pool of applicants and hire the best guy for the job. A good coach doesn't have to b a hometown boy to get kids out to play and put lots of energy into the program
  17. the wildcats will be another year older and another rice brother at quarterback. The wildcats are well coached and are never an easy out, that veer is tough to stop
  18. Walt is a great football coach and really cares for his kids, no matter who you are in coaching you still need athletes to win consistently every year...some coaches can get more out of coaches than other...i guess to say it in another way, if you are at a school and have players playing in division i schools you had better have a pretty decent record. If you are putting kids in colleges on scholarship each and every year you should have a good football team, does not always work that way but by and large . some coaches, i will use rankin, quarles and clint satterfield for example have some great football players but they also maximize the potential of players on their team...you will not notice a high number of players at maryville play division one football but they are so well taught from an early age and that teaching continues on throughout high school that they are a machine...rankin's team specialize on being physical, they killl them in the weight room and do a few things very well...sorry to wander on but i try to study many different types of coaching and i go on to much
  19. if coach moore is installing the side saddle t it will cause some heartaches for defensive coordinators around the state and esp. in 1A ...great offense steeped in history, i would say they would be the only team running it in the state of tennessee...it will work well with their speed
  20. Walt will do a great job, he has been able to adapt to the talent that he has had over the years, he was one of the first guys around to truly run a "wildcat' offense and was very successful with it, when he has had a qb that can run and receivers that can catch, along with linemen that can pass block he has thrown the ball....he will take the strengths of his new team and adapt their attack to its greatest benefits...great hire by principal Cardin!
  21. heard from a friend the other day that coach Mac had been sick...hope he is doing better from all in Moore County, you have a great coach!!!!!
  22. go wildcats, you have a great coach and a better guy, coach gaddis if given time will bring back the magic to the atomic city...good luck coach G
  23. congrats to coach moore and the community of south pitt, you have your guy and now the pirates can truly prepare for the 2013 season. It is good he is a home town guy and please give him time to get his feet wet. Does anyone know where he has been coaching for the last few years? Again good luck pirates
  24. runtheball would do a great job, i know that he taught me most of what it took to be a football coach, they would be lucky to have him but i know that he is enjoying coaching at the collegiate level
  25. 7-3 or 6-4 but the schedule will prepare u for the playoffs. 8-2 would b incredible
