Some schools chose to move up voluntarily, so to say you're about taking on all comers isn't factual. What ever HC decides to do, I don't believe there are many teams afraid to play HC. If I'm being honest, HC would be the 3rd or 4th best 5A team in the Knoxville region.

I know one 5A team that plays up, seems to me they're doing just fine....

Blame it on fall break, one of the reasons I felt we'd come out a little flat. It'll get fixed before McMinn.

Two 1st half fumbles aside, this is about the result I expected. Bradley came out ready to play, hard to sustain it against the good guys though.

Lakeway will make some noise this year, hope those two do well.

You'll be hearing more names each week, but I'm really proud of this Sr. class. There were more than a few I wasn't sure too sure about as they were coming up (especially after they got shutout against Alcoa years ago), but they've proved me wrong and couldn't have led this team any better. If C5 can trust his arm and let it rip a few more times a game they'll really start putting up some big scores.

Say what?? This team is just as good as some of our past teams that won State. That doesn't mean they'll win it all this year, but people (especially lil cryo whino) who sleep on this team are usually on the outside looking in. We might not have a bunch of "household names" on this year's squad yet and that's okay, but I assure you they'll be popping up on All State lists by the end of the season.

Packer? That's not who I was referring to, but he got what he deserved from what I heard.

27-3 Maryville wins again, but I have a feeling we'll play these guys again at some point. On a side note, Maryville's D is holding teams to less than 6 points per game. I thought last year's D was special and this group is currently right there with them.

I was there, we played in the 4A game right before that. However, Riggs has nothing on Dante Hickey. Not sure why Hickey never played in college, but he's still the best player I've seen play on our home field outside of Jason Witten.

Cleveland '93 by a mile... I was on the other end of a 70-28 beating from that team, but Riggs played us at home the year after they won 5A (they moved down to 4A) and got shut down. They beat Riverdale BAD in the 5A game the year before, but I'm not sure that Riverdale team was very good to begin with. Riggs had one run for over 10 yards against a TOUGH Maryville defense and quit in the 2nd half.

Yes they did, all the way back to their Rhea County-Cleveland days.

Not true, Whitehaven and Ravenwood have beat the winner before.

Never play for the title, huh? One did play for it (Whitehaven), the other has played for it more times than anyone (Maryville). Whatever shirt bus you rode in on, you should consider a change of drivers.
