Our record against Alcoa is 63-23-3, how does that add up? I'll go out on a limb and add +2 to that win total for the Red Rebels over the next 2 years. That's almost a 3 to 1 ratio. Now I know since you're from Rockford that ratios and big numbers might cause your brain to rattle a bit, but I'll also point out that when Farragut competed in 5A two seasons ago their student enrollment was higher than Maryville's. Hopefully that makes some sense, but unfortunately your Rankin 'Rithematic would have you believing you could get a $1 out of 15 cents.

As much fun as it has been running 6A. As to answering your question, it would've helped if you included that 5A comment in your original thread. We don't have any 5A titles because we decided to play the big boys and not the little sisters of the backwoods.

Oh I've kept up with him. We chat occasionally on Facebook and he'll be Clinton's first wrestling state champ in the next few years as well.

Having coached against him as an 8th grade wrestler when he was at Union County I can assure you he had most grownups scared of how much of a beast he was at 14 years old!

You are correct about the grades part. The Mr. Football winner he dismissed from last year's team is a prime example. I know his family well and they said they knew their son was not passing and somehow Rankin kept him eligible. When the kid tried to transfer, the parents were informed by Rankin that he would never play HS football again in TN. Thankfully he got a scholarship to keep playing at the next level, but I doubt Rankin did him any favors.

We keep in year round on 825 Lawrence Ave. Even our feeder programs are starting earlier this year. As Stars would put it, "Mebbe that will hep us holt offt" those Middle Tennessee programs a few more years...
