  1. Any idea how many all purpose yards Hensley had tonight? Kid had a great game!! Ran down a couple of MTP backs to save TD’s and just flat out ran all over MTP defense!
  2. From Mustang Nation GOOD LUCK WAVERLY!! Show these guys that us good ole country boy teams have talent too!!
  3. I'm conflicted on this game. I'd love to see Wayne County knock these guys off and move on to face Huntingdon again on the carpet. But, I want to see a Huntingdon / Cornersville showdown!! Nothing but respect for our Wayne County peeps but based off of just stats it appears Cville wins around 35-21. I'm ok with being wrong in this one lol Give em heck WC!!
  4. WEL ITS FRIDAY!!! Here's to hoping all those that have to travel to watch the games do so safely and that the young men putting it all out there on the field for us to watch come away injury free! Mustangs go do what you do!! WIN!!! Cornersville take care of business with Wayne County! When the horn blows at the end of both games I look for the T to blow up with the Huntingdon vs Cornerville thread lol . My prediction for tonight's game is 49-14 Huntingdon. My prediction for the Wayne vs Cornerville is 35-21 Cornerville. Cherokee 23 you are cordially invited to our thread when it begins in 15 hours or so lol
  5. We have had this luxury in the past but our coaching staff took another route. Not saying that was a bad thing but it is refreshing to see multiple kids out there showing off their skills as well. Mr.Ensley has a bright future playing baseball ( or any other sport he chooses to play) and the fact that we don’t have to rely on him to carry the ball 25/30 a game is a huge plus for everyone. I also know if we needed him too he would gladly take it and run!! Lol
  6. They are kids, mistakes are made, and this aint the place for discussion...js
  7. Good news is, with all this rain Huntingdon's carpet should reduce the chance for injury, slipping and sliding in the mud you would have with the traditional fields. Curious how the CVille field is looking with all the rain? How much of an impact will it have on their game if any?
  8. Here's some interesting numbers: Of the 10 teams Huntingdon played in regular season 3 have made it to the 2nd round - Waverly 2A ( we Defeated 63-42) . Milan 3A (we defeated 44-29) and Wayne Co 1A ( we defeated 46-22). Of the 10 teams Cornersville played in regular season MP is the only team still playing. Of course all of this means nadda really. Just was looking for some similarities between us and CVILLE and struggling to find any. Ya'll have run rough shod over everyone you played, however one has to question how good these teams were that you beat since none after this week are still playing. Indeed the scoreless streak is very impressive no matter who the foe! Can't take that away from Cville , but the cost of playing cupcakes could come back and haunt ya in the playoffs. js something to think about. Also curious, has CVille trailed in any game this year? This too could effect the team, how well do they respond when another team goes up on them and they have to play from behind?
  9. Just going on what I think I remember on this game. It was 19-16 WC up in the 4th quarter with just a few minutes left. Huntingdon threw a bomb down field and WC intercepted and was able to score. That game was back n forth the entire game to that point.
  10. Yea and I don’t think Mt Pleasant keeps it close either. I think Swenson keeps the gas on the pedal a little longer this week. 56-21 Huntingdon
  11. I’m with you on this. I’m not saying CVille won’t win but Wayne County will give them a good game. I would not be shocked if they won. Coach Rice Always has a good game plan. At least against Huntingdon he does lol.
  12. You were not missing any players when you played Huntingdon. Just got beat by a better team. Waverlys offense is electrifying to watch though. Subject to score from anywhere on the field. Defense (unless improved) Will allow rushing yards. Hope they can pull off the win.
  13. It wouldn’t matter if they had the other 4-5 players. Game was over by the half. They had 1 1st down and 17 yds of offense at the half. And the 1st down came on a penalty.
  14. Anything is possible, just know that the streak y’all been talking so much about is as important to your boys as the undefeated streak is to ours on the magic carpet. No doubt this should be a good game. Let’s both take care of business and see what happens. Hoping Coach Rice and Wayne County don’t beat ya up too bad. Them boys may not be world beaters but they are physical and won’t quit coming at you.
  15. Lots of chatter on here today and I love the banter going on. Let’s just hope the playoffs continue the way we ALL think they should and in 2 weeks Cornersville will roll up into Paul Ward Stadium for the showdown everyone wants to see. Is the Bulldog defense good enough to stop the Stangs high powered offense? Can the Mustangs win the big game? Those questions and many others will be answered that night. I personally don’t think there’s a defense out there that can stop us from scoring. Penalties and mistakes will decide this game. Team that capitalized on the mistakes and has less penalties will win. Hope all the teams remain healthy and good sportsmanship is abundant.
  16. Didn’t Mcewen have 6 kids suspended for tonight’s game including the starting QB?
  17. 41-0 3rd qrt Huntingdon over 300 yds rushing. Moore County 17 yds offense.
  18. Yes we run a version of the wing, just don't see the QB running near as much as we have in the past. As I said before I think it's a good thing. QB takes a beating when run that much and we have talented RB's that can help carry the mail.
  19. Thanks Trollin! WE (like all other teams in the playoffs) are excited to play some good football teams and see just how we measure up!
  20. I agree that Mr. Ensley should have been at least mentioned, there are some studs out there with better #'s. However, had Huntingdon run the traditional Huntingdon wing T where the QB runs the ball 20-30 times a game his stats would have been very comparable to the others. Truth is, this may be the most balanced and evenly talented offense Huntingdon has fielded in several years. I'd much rather watch the pigskin get passed around or handed off evenly vs the 20-30 times by the QB. This years offense allows Hunter to have fresh legs later in the game when needed the most! Excited to see how we fare in the playoffs! Congrats to ALL the young men nominated and hope everyone has a injury free playoff!!
  21. Prayers sent and if anything is needed I'm sure the Huntingdon faithful would be willing to help out our neighbor!
  22. lol I agree, I don't think we are 50pts better either. I don't think LC can score with Huntingdon and that's been our thing this year when we play quality teams. Our defense isn't as strong as our offense, however, if the defense gets a couple of good stands and force you to punt....game over! Even the high powered offense from Waverly couldn't catch up once we got out in front.
  23. 1. Never said coaches weren't prepping the boys...what I said was its hard to keep them focused... boys will be boys 2. If you want to trick yourself into believing that Cornersville players (and coaches) aren't counting on this anticipated rematch that's your decision. Does not mean they are overlooking anyone, it means they want that rematch just like Huntingdon does. Makes for good football!! 3. was not necc pointed at CVILLE, simply stating if defenses put 8 in the box to try and stop the run we have been able to hit them down field with success. 4. We average perty good offense as well and I dare say you wouldn't be holding Wayne County, Milan and Waverly to 2.5 points per game. Your stats are impressive, your team is very very good! My post was simply stating that any one of the top 5 teams could win this Gold Ball! CVILLE included!
  24. Eh not really, our defense has been somewhat suspicious all year. Kind of a slow starter if you will. I will blame it on the lack of completion each week. (most weeks) Hard to get better as a unit if you don't play a lot in real game mode. Practice becomes boring and mundane for the boys. What Wayne did do was hold onto the ball, cant score if ya aint got it. However, with Huntingdon's deep bench it's hard to out last them. They are going to score and score fast and from different players. Make NO mistake about this Huntingdon team, it is NOT the same team you saw last year Cornersville. The QB isn't get 25-35 runs per game and the RB's are spread out and getting equal touches. Put 8-10 in the box and they will run some play action and hit it for 40-50 yds. Just stating facts as I know them this year....thus far. I see all the write ups about GB is unbeatable (new player is ALL STATE MATERIAL) , South Pitt wins year in year out (actually true statement nothing but respect from me) and Cornersville beat us last year and have the same team back this year (see above statement) . To be very honest I don't know if there's 15 cents diff between the top 5 on any given Friday night. (im sure their are diff opinions on this lol) All of the Top 5 teams are extremely good and all have played less than great schedules. I look forward to the playoffs and at that point we will know who is for real and who is not! Let the beat down begin lol......
