  1. This league will come down to Harpeth and Cheatham. Heritage maybe 3rd, Westmoreland maybe 4th. Greenbrier lacks enough talent to compete.
  2. Very Classy by the coaches, players, school, and community of Gallatin! I'm not surprised.
  3. I don't think you are very familiar with middle tennesssee teams either
  4. I think Henry Co. is a lock to win. Rossview should win a close one. Kenwood will get hammered. Clarksville loses and Springfield loses by two touchdowns. Just my opinion!
  5. You are correct and I forgot they were in. Unfortunately, they got a tough draw. I don't see Mt. Juliet winning, but I hope they play well.
  6. Beech over Columbia (this was a state championship game a few years ago). Ravenwood over Station Camp (Big) Gallatin over Springfield (two teams headed in opposite directions). Hendersonville over Indy (but close) Not a very good draw for Hendy.
  7. Make it simple. Put all the privates in 2 classes separate of the public. Divide all of the public into 3 classes. Too many state champions right now. A state champion out of 55-57 (Division 1) schools, and out of 8-10 (Division 2) schools is watered down. And do it across the board (all sports). Oh wait, that is too simple and doesn't make enough $$$. But remember, we constantly change because everyone complains. There is no system that will make everyone a state champion.
  8. How many TD's your boy have tonight in high school?
  9. The new alignment has nothing to do with basketball. The screwed up multiple class system is only for football. Nothing changes in basketball.
  10. I would rather be a 6 than a 4-5 if you want to advance very far in the play-offs. Hillsboro looks to be a 1 seed and appear to title contenders.
  11. With a Gallatin win, they would finish 7-3 (better than last years record of 6-4). They would finish two games better than Beech (overall record, but one game behind in district record), and play on the road. Wouldn't you like to be in the Shelbyville, Lawrence County district? I would rather play Lawrence County or Shelbyville on the road than be a #4 or #5 and face Hillsboro in the second round. I also think only three teams from 9AAA make the playoffs this year. All Sumner County Schools. H'ville, Beech, and Gallatin.
  12. In general, the SC fans are usually the most boisterous and somewhat outrageous (ex: Chickie, bisontruth, etc.) They seem to look at their team in ways that no one else sees. However, I find it hilarious now that a win over Portland is now considered a good win. No disrespect to Portland, but their talent level does not match anyone else's in 9AAA. Congrats to Kyle, everyone says he is a tight end prospect at the next level. I do not believe that the Bison can play with Hendersonville. If they do make the play-offs this year. They will be little more than a speed bump for someone in the first round.
  13. It has taken a long time to get here, but this game will tell the truth about where these teams really are. I think MJ needs a win to make the playoffs. Gallatin needs a win to solidify hosting a first round game. I won't make a prediction yet, but it should be a great game. The last time Gallatin came to MJ feeling good about themselves, they got hammered. Both teams should be very focused.
  14. I don't think anyone would fear playing Lawrence County in the first round. They don't exactly play an extremely tough schedule.
  15. I believe finish is based solely on district record.
  16. You both make good points. I think 9AAA is down right now. It would be hard for anyone in 9AAA to claim a good win right now. I don't know of any big non-district wins. I can't even think of any surprising district wins. Beech over MJ was a great game as SC-Gallatin could be. Beech vs Hville could be, Gallatin-MJ maybe. Others, I don't know?
  17. Indian, I am assuming you used numbers from a few years ago. Several of the schools listed are larger now and I know a few that are currently larger than some you listed. But, I do think you are thinking along a good line. I just hope everyone knows that this idea is not the brain child of someone in the TSSAA. North Carolina uses the super 32. Arkansas uses the "Z" plan that is currently in place.
  18. If Gallatin wins, I think they are solidly in the play-offs and probably end up 6-4. If they lose, they will probably end up 5-5 and still make the play-offs in 5A. I think it is a must win game for SC. If they lose, they are probably staring at 5-5 at best and I'm not sure that will make the play-offs in 6A. Should be a great game with a lot on the line. I think it comes down to who makes the least mistakes. Many high school games are simply lost by teams making mistakes, as opposed to being won by teams making plays. I'm undecided on who I think will win so no predictions from me.
  19. Ill take Beech over Mt. Juliet, SC over WC, Hville over Portland in a big way, and Gallatin over Lebanon in a big way. The Beech-MJ game and WC-SC game are HUGE for each of those teams as far as play-offs are concerned.
  20. PC over SC (14+) Hville over Riverdale (10+) Gallatin over Trousdale (7) Centennial over MJ (7) Beech over Siegel (7) Lebanon (hammered by Cookeville) DC over WC (3)
  21. Yes. I would say that is a very important stretch. If they don't beat Centennial, looks like a 3 game losing streak (opinion). That would make things very interesting in the district over the last few weeks of the season. Like you said, one game at a time.
  22. I will take Hendersonville over Riverdale!
  23. Congrats to the Pioneers! What are their chances of 5 wins this year?
  24. Prayers from our family also!
  25. 1). I think Wilson Central, Station Camp, and Gallatin are very pivotal games when they play each other. Also not sold that MJ has proven they are in the top 3 yet. They may be in the mix with 3-6. 2). If any of the three could knock off one of the top three, that would certainly be huge positive. 3). However, if one of them were to get knocked off by Lebanon, that would be huge in a negative way also. In other words, even though many people think there are no great teams in this league other than H'ville, this may be one of the most interesting years in 9AAA in a long time. It appears as though no team is good enough to relax on a given weekend. Let the games continue!
