  1. How is Milan handling the COVID-19 crisis with their workouts?
  2. You can't treat them boys like they are beaters and blowers in the band.
  3. Tough loss tonight for Stewart County at Houston County. The good news is it was a non district game.
  4. Stewart County won at Houston County tonight 62-59. It was the Rebels 3rd win in a row.
  5. In Region 6 it's either Sycamore as the 3-Seed and Cheatham County as the 4-Seed OR it will be Cheatham County as the 3-Seed and Harpeth as the 4-Seed. The Sycamore/Harpeth game this week is for a playoff spot.
  6. It's about two separate kids from what I was told. Both just one. I was also told that as many as 6-7 different sources have contacted the TSSAA about the matter. Neither of the kids in question is Bo Wallace from Marshall County.
  7. Hoath is the coach. McConnell was offered the position but he turned the job down. Central was attractive from the outside looking in but once a closer look was given a mess was discovered.
  8. You would miss me too much and I would never disappoint you by leaving.
  9. Congrats to Cody Finley on being named the new head football coach at his alma mater Gibson County HS. The Pioneers are getting a great one.
  10. T and those guys have been solid the last few years. They'll be a very challenging season opener for us. I hope we are able to be competitive this time around.
  11. It's almost as if we share the same mind lol!
  12. Creek Wood Montgomery Central Waverly Stewart County Camden Central Fairview Lewis County Hickman County East Hickman Thoughts?
  13. Camden Central Cheatham County East Hickman Fairview Harpeth Stewart County Sycamore This will be the region for one more year and then who knows what will happen with the private schools and the enrollment numbers and where it could send these teams in future seasons.
  14. Yes that would definitely make me go hide behind a username on a message forum and bash a coach who I didn't have the courage to bash face-to-face. Makes perfect sense now!
  15. East Hickman coacht posters have to be some of the most ignorant people on the planet.
  16. Gary Rankin and George Quarles applied I'm sure. I even heard Steve Spurrier was interested in coaching high school football.
  17. The basketball program has survived because of their core group and also because they hired Josh Stuart to run the basketball program once Chris Dawson resigned. It was the best decision possible and although it nearly was botched during that fiasco the right guy wound up in charge of the program. It's scary to think how much better the basketball program could have been with Mason, Slate, and Kessler. They are 121-23 over the last 5 years and those three guys added to the mix would have definitely made that record even more impressive. The school's football program will soon get back to where it was as well. When Cody Finley stepped down and took the job at Stewart County the football job should have either went to Michael Jackson or Eric Hatley. Could you imagine how much different the last few years would have been on the gridiron if the right hire had been made from the outset? Coach Hatley made great strides in his first season and he will only continue to make things better. Athletics has definitely survived more than it's share in Cheatham County
  18. They'll have to be much more all around next year no question about it. I have known this year's junior class since they were in the 6th grade playing at CMS. I feel like they'll put in the work necessary to continue what has taken place over the last 5 years. I wouldn't bet against Coach Stuart and Co. to make one more strong showing. He will demand that they put in the work in the gym to get themselves better as players. You're absolutely right in that I am a huge fan of the Cubs basketball program. Coach Dawson & Coach Stuart took a program that hit rock bottom and rebuilt it from the ground up and now 5 years later the Cubs fans can say that the last 5 seasons have produced 121 wins to just 23 losses. I haven't attended but maybe 6-8 basketball games of the Cubs over the last 4 years but I have been very proud of the kids and coaches every step of the way.
  19. Cascade shocked Creek Wood in an upset. Marshall County beat Camden in a nail biter. Stewart won a battle against Giles. CPA crushed Montgomery Central.
  20. Cheatham will win it again next year. If the last 5 years tell you anything it's that they don't "rebuild" but instead they "reload" in Ashland City. They lost Brinkley, Conner, Potts, Bose, etc. and still won. They lost Harlan, Saunders, etc. and have continued to win. They'll lose Douglass, Goode, and Lipscomb and they'll keep on winning. Chalunsak, Harlan, Jenkins, Saunders, Mayberry, etc. are all back next year. There are some guys at CCCHS who may not play basketball who will probably play next year and be studs. Trust me when I say the Cubs will still be the team to beat in the district next year.
  21. Last night just goes to show that in a one and done tournament game your fortunes can change anytime. Creek Wood was head and shoulders above the field in 11-AA this year and many felt they were headed for the state tournament. I'll be there tonight at Stewart County HS. Bill Craig Memorial Gymnasium will be a rocking atmosphere at tip off. I hope Giles County has a safe trip up from Pulaski. Go Rebels!
  22. Whites Creek won 2 out of 3 games against Maplewood this year. It sounds like they are both very strong teams and I'm sure they both have a wealth of athleticism. Hats off to Coach Stuart and the Cubs for winning a 4th Consecutive District Tournament Championship. In the last 5 seasons the Cubs have won 5 Straight Regular Season District Titles and won the District Tournament 4 of those times (finishing as the runner-up the other time). That's truly an incredible run of basketball. In fact during that period of time the Cubs overall record is 120-22 over the last 5 years. This year's group of seniors have an overall mark of 96-14 and have swept the district regular season and tournament championships every year. Good Luck to the Cubs in the Region 5 Tournament. Hume-Fogg does not have a great record but they seem to be playing much better of late having won two games in their district tourney.
