  1. Henderson and Barbee could very well be Mr. Football finalists this year. It would be hard to find two better athletes anywhere. They would be awesome in the same backfield!
  2. Here is a link to the Channel 4 Touchdown Friday coverage of our game last night! http://www.wsmv.com/Clip/10655925/week-6-henry-county-21-springfield-20#.VC_5IXTll4o.facebook FWIW, my son is the middle one of the three Springfield signal callers in the green vests on the sideline, 😃😃
  3. Commish, I asked about the Rossview QB. I did not know he was out for the year. We don't get a lot of Clarksville talk on here and I thought our HC friends may have heard more, so I asked about him.
  4. Many thanks to all the fans who made this thread so enjoyable this week! We may not have this many posts combined for our next three games/threads!!
  5. Got to contain the Kenwood QB and limit their big plays. The Jackets should take care of business.
  6. I would like the opinions of the HC fans as to how the Jackets compare to Kenwood and Rossview, if anyone would care to share with us. I have seen the film of their games with Henry County but want the opinion of the people who have seen all three in person. Does anyone know how long the Rossview QB is out for or is he back playing again?
  7. Oh, I totally agree both teams had questionable calls. The roughing the passer and unsportsmanlike sequence was actually correct in the way they handled it. The unsportsmanlike penalty was a dead ball after the play penalty so it would not offset the roughing the passer penalty. I was a little confused as to why it was 1st and 10 and not 1st and 25 though. That has always confused me though, and it didn't upset me that it wasn't 1st and 25, 😃😃
  8. This crew was outstanding compared to the crew we had for our game against Northwest! The refs from the Clarksville association seem to really be bad. The best crew we have had this year was at our game at White House. Those refs came out of an association from Columbia.
  9. Great game tonight. I think Springfield showed they are for real even if their schedule wasn't strong up to this point in the season. Maybe our boys will get a little well deserved respect from the rest of the district now. Hate to see this series end. Maybe we will see the Pats in the playoffs. Good to meet Drewcephus and OldDevil at the Commissioner's house after the game.
  10. The local station, WDBL, is 1590 AM I believe. The Commissioner can correct me if I am wrong. The signal isn't the strongest but you should be able to get it at the field. It is hard to get outside of town though.
  11. What has happened to Red Warrior? Haven't seen anything from him.
  12. Just an FYI, but rumor has it that news station from Nashville will have a helicopter at our game tomorrow night. Not like the boys needed to get any more fired up or anything.
  13. The Commish is covered up in work today so he can be off tomorrow, so I will answer for him if that is ok. Our forecast is the same as yours pretty much with the rain expected to be gone by the evening and cooler temps. I just the hope the field isn't a mess, but it is in probably the best shape it ever has been in so it should be fine. Take exit 24 off of I-24, then just stay on highway 49 all the way into town. You will come to a red light as you enter town where Central Ave meets 49/5th Ave. Stay straight through the light and the middle school is 1/2-3/4 on down on the left. The field is behind the middle school. Wish we still had that big roomy stadium for tomorrow night's game, it would be close to full.
  14. Correct me if I am wrong, but the new classifications will only go as high as 5A then have a Super 32. The current projection has Springfield in 4A, but there is still some doubt as to whether we go 4A or 5A due to the uncertainty of the cutoff number since we are so close either way. The Commissioner is correct in what he stated for our projection, and that is the 4A scenario. I have heard of one for 5A that has two or three of our current Clarksville district members in it also. That projected HC district will make the gas companies happy with all the travel there.
  15. A little different question for the Patriot fans. What are the projections for Henry County when the new classifications go into effect in regard to class and district and other district members?
  16. We usually watch the tobacco smoke up here. If it lingers long, the team has a good grind it out running game; if it goes away quickly, they have a great passing game. In all seriousness though, with the Huddle app/program everyone uses now, swapping film is only a few mouse clicks away. No more driving to meet and swap film.
  17. I will answer this and SECRules question here too. Springfield has an outstanding running game, but we haven't faced a D-line the caliber of HC's yet. The players to watch are QB #13 Timmie Barbee, and RBs #35 Isiah Bigbee and #42 Alan Gardner. Barbee and Bigbee are seniors, and Gardner is a sophomore. The passing game is above average. Barbee can sling it, and he throws to multiple receivers who can all catch. The Jackets run a two QB system, usually switching after first downs. Everything is out of the shotgun. The other QB can throw it just as good as Barbee, but isn't as quick running. I look forward to how our D-line can handle the Pats running game. We have improved every game and shut White House down, who has a similar running to HC though probably not as many athletes. Hope this helps, and I do not think I am telling anything the HC coaches haven't already seen on film, 😃.
  18. We expect a full house. The Gallatin game was as full on the home side as it has been in a few years. Probably be standing room only on the home side.
  19. It is just nice to see Henry County nervous about playing Springfield!! Shame the series is probably ending, but I cannot say I will miss the drive down there. The people are great though.
  20. You must mean Larry's Restaurant. It is still here, just across the street from the fire hall on Central Avenue. Not sure if it is open on Friday evenings, but they have been open some evenings during the week during the summer.
  21. Restrooms are old but clean and a stone's throw from the visitor seating. How clean they stay during a game I have no idea. They are on the far side of the concession stand in the west end zone, which is to the right of the visitor side. They are closer to the visitor seating than the home seating.
  22. I would not put it past Coach Counce to pull some obscure rule out of his hat to win a game, especially after the false start debacle at the end of the 2010 game in Springfield. We did not like it at all, but it was perfectly legal. Have to give credit where credit is due, though it took my blood pressure a year to level off after that night, 😂😂!
  23. Drew, since the Commissioner doesn't live too far from the stadium he should have a big tail gate at his house, ðŸ‘ðŸ‘!! I do not know of any personally, but I have seen some Springfield fans in the lot behind the visitors stands the last couple of games doing a little tail gating.
  24. I think I speak for the Springfield fans on here in that we agree! The HC fans are knowledgeable and support their team whole heartedly. It is fun to banter back and forth. You guys keep it honest and respectful (most of you anyway 😂😂) and makes it entertaining. You guys keep it coming as well.
