First three that come to my mind have to be Kevin Lane who I believe is at Catholic right now; a true winner. Also, an under the radar guy may be the Defensive Coordinator at Bearden. I believe his name is Milan. Nix from Alcoa has to be on the list as well.

Strength vs. Strength in this game. Front 7 of West vs the Run game of Rhea. I'd say Vegas would put the over/under on this one at about 12.5. Should be a good ole fashioned slug fest.

Work took me to Kentucky for the last year and a half, but thank the Good Lord he brought me back home to East Tennessee toward the beginning of September. Just in time for some high school football and a little drama. Trying to get back into the swing of things. Luckily DC hasn't let me down the last few weeks.

Appreciate that. I went to the OR @ DB game when I was visiting family earlier in the season in Kingsport and OR looks as athletic as all get out. At first glance, I'd have the Wildcats rolling in this one, but when you look at the scores, Soddy obviously has an explosive ball team, that has had success against quality teams. Should be an interesting one.

Now that I'm back in the area with my family, I'm looking forward to some high school football. It was down to watching Cleveland @ Farragut and Soddy @ Oak Ridge. I'm heading up to watch my first ever football game at Oak Ridge. Looking forward to what should be a great atmosphere from what I've heard. If it's anything like the few basketball games I've been to, it should be a dandy. Anything good on the concession stand list that I should try?

Hard-nosed ball player. Not the most athletic. We knocked heads a little in 2000 when I was at E&H. We got the best of them that day, but it was a fist fight. You talk about a guy who never gives up.

Nothing has made my day the last month like sitting down and reading all of the posts on facebook by G$. Talk about a train wreck. Terrible for the kids, but would make a great reality show.

It's good to see some teams who have had some struggles still want to play a little more football for a week. Most kids are ready to cash it in after a long tough season. Doesn't surprise me at all about Derek Rang's bunch up at G-P. I may have to travel in from Morristown on Saturday since there's no reason to watch the Vols.

I think this is the best of the Region 1 and 2 6A games for the first round. Two quality teams. Will be interesting to see if Farragut can sure up that run defense against Cleveland, as well as if Cleveland can stop the pass of Farragut. I think if Cleveland stays patient with the run, they have the ability to pull the upset.

There's gonna have to be a bigger job than Clinton to come open if there's gonna be any serious movement in East Tennessee. If one big one falls, then things will get interesting. I just don't see West firing a coach after 2 seasons (justified or not), and there are no jobs for Harig to go to if he steps down. Because of that, I think he'll be there at least next year.

There has to be some scrimmages this week with spring practices ending around East Tennessee. Who is scrimmaging? When and Where? I'd love to get to watch some football before August.

IMO, unless they had the ability to get Nix, CAK needs to steer clear of coaches from this area. I don't think anyone really understands the job that Rusty Bradley did at CAK. Yes he had athletes, but there is no reason CAK should have been competing year in and out over the past few years with a team loaded like Alcoa. He got everything he possibly could've gotten out of there. Classy program it has always seemed. I wouldn't be surprised if CAK looks to hire someone out of the region like Nashville/Memphis, or even go out of state with this hire.

HTV, do you think Karns will stay in house then? Or do you think someone from outside the program will land it? I would assume that if your opinion is the consensus around the area, then Karns would look to make the hire of someone on Tobi's staff right?

Touche' Dead serious, it will be interesting to see how the Govs pass defense holds up against the Pats. I think that will be the determining factor.

Jefferson County wins, but only because they are predicting stiff winds that night, and the wind will flip to be in WB's face the entire game. Also, the governors won't try hard against Jefferson County because those boys have never gotten up for a game east of Knox County.
