Here's an interesting DB vs. Willy B thread from nearly 20 years ago. In the 2nd paragraph the poster talks about how DB should be scheduling more privates, out of state teams, etc. In the 3rd it is mentioned that if the band is doing so great then what's wrong with the football program? Seems like those things are still being discussed in 2024.... Maybe this game tomorrow will be pretty tight, most of you seem to think so. I may just drop by to see it.

Here's my guess for Region 1 vs. Region 2: 1st round: Sevier Co (R1) wins against R2 and the rest of R1 gets out the basketballs. At some point it will be Sevier Co (R1), Powell (R2) & Knox West (R2) moving on to play the R3/R4 winner. As of now those 3 are a tossup, it just depends on peaking at the right time, injuries, etc. Until someone in 5A knocks off Knox West my money is on the Rebels.

Is everybody feeling like this will be like the WB/Science-Hill game a couple of weeks ago where SH won 55-28...... Or is it going to be much closer?

Only seen JC play once, so this is anecdotal, but.... #23 seems to have another gear that the other guys just don't have, plus some nifty shifty moves, but they almost never got him the ball. I just don't get that... Otherwise you're right, JC does not have much team speed.

Concession stand lady?!?!? There's gotta be more to this, please elaborate. This game is on my radar because I don't feel inclined to drive down to the Sevier County Massacre. Hoping we get some good X's & O's type comments from fans close to both programs to see if this will be a good close game or not. Something tells me DB by 20 but I dunno, there's a bit of history here between these two....

Not sure if you are a Seymour fan or not, but if so then please know that we at Daniel Boone HS (5A) feel your pain. We are also going 0-10 this season for only the 2nd time in school history. In 2022 we went 12-1 and then came the lawsuit.... not sure if that threw everything out of whack or not, but 2023 was 3-7 and 2024 is 0-10. As a fan you know how frustrating it is to go to a game and support the guys but the outcome is predestinated (no, I'm not a Calvinist, but still.....). Wishing you guys the best for the remaining 3 games, who knows maybe you will be a trap-game for someone.

Why would Begley not play...... nagging injury?

This one's too close to call, I'm going with Elizabethton only because they have that winner's mentality. Not a slight at DB but they just don't have the same culture. These are 16-17 year old kids so who knows. The Elizabethton community has had to deal with all the flooding and displacement so you never know if that plays a part in it as well. If we could say that across the board the athleticism is equal then we go to coaching, and Elizabethton is light years ahead of DB there. What about depth??? I know DB has a lot of linemen playing both ways, not sure about Elizabethton. Let's go ahead and pick a score here....... ELIZABETHTON 23 KINGSPORT 21

Before the season started I had Elizabethton as a solid winner. But now.... I'm still going with the Cyclones but it's more of a toss-up. Did you pick Kingsport based purely on athletics, or did it have anything to do with the disruption caused by flooding? Think I heard the game had to be moved to Science Hill in Johnson City due to what happened in Elizabethton.
