  1. I know that Westtn...I'm saying he's not the top in the West, much less the state. Doaks is an excellent ball player granted.
  2. I didn't understand the tanning comment either, but there is nothing wrong with a good complexion..lol
  3. Top 3 in the West: Webb, Shane and Doaks Webb will proably win it. Just an opinion right?
  4. Middle College has come a long way from last year. The turn around is awesome and I can appreciate the job that team has done this year. Whitby at Lake County has his team playing now, not 3 months ago, and that says a lot. Should be a fun tournament. I agree with CoachT, put Shane back inside and let the chips fall where they fall. Reynolds had 2 points versus Bradford, G'town needs some outside help somewhere. This years' region tourney will be exciting!!
  5. Yeah, they won 20+ games a year and then they meet a team that matches up with them when its lose or go home and the coaches (plural) fade in the pressure. You can win 30 games a year but if you aren't making the adjustments to your competition, you'll go home fast in tournament time. I'm simply saying that Bailey is the purest athlete and wants to beat you like a drum, anyone who watches them play will tell you that, don't tell me about your records, tell me about your championships. I will give them credit in several areas, they probably commit the most fouls of any one team in the northwest, without getting them called and they have the most talent of any one team in the northwest. If they don't go all the way this year, I'm sure you have a reason on here to post....and I'm sure it won't be the coaching..lol
  6. I'll have to agree with Jvaughn, Shane should be considered heavily. He should have won in it <especially>last year and the year before, but was snubbed twice. If anyone thinks there isn't a bias against single A boys/girls basketball from the West then they are delusional. But on top of all those offensive numbers while being doubled and tripled teamed, he usually plays the role as the shut down man as well while on defense. The one tangible I like the most about him is he is a class act. No trash talking, no strutting, just basketball as usual. I've watched 3 games in which they lost, and he is the same at the end of game as he is if he had won, shakes your hand & tells you good game.
  7. bigbody, you are probably right...no one will stop temple with that schedule. but once you get away from that region, temple will have problems. The west is loaded this year, too much speed and size..it should be good till the meetings though.
  8. Weddle from UC or Tyler from Lake County. Alot of great shooters this year.
  9. AA- Union City can play with every team in this state easily throughout all divisions...the crazy thing is, next year, they are Single A As far as Class A goes: PG-Caleb Skogen, 6'1 Temple 2G-Travis Sykes, 6'4 CPA WF-Brandon Shane, 6'3 Greenfield BF-Xavier Webb, 6'9 West Carroll BF- Lackey or Doaks (Doaks has trouble finding ball in paint at times) DII- why even put them in the mix with the other 3 classes..that was a joke right?
  10. I've been to many games here in West Tennessee and Gleason's Hudson and Dresden's Bailey are the 2 top point guards on this side of the state, in regards to Single A and even Double A. If Bailey would have been coached right, she would be a big time D1 ball player and she still may be, pure athletic ability and drive. Hudson, I don't know how she does it, she's not very big nor speedy but she has an uncanny ability to break down defenses. Peabody is talented as well, but their guards hurt them. I can't remember who they, might have been Greenfield, ran their daunted press against and Peabody got run out of it. I haven't seen Edney, but I have read alot about her and talked to others who have seen her play and they say she is an excellent ball player as well. I don't know if Clarkrange is back loaded or not, but I feel the teams in Northwest Tennessee, could easily comprise 4 of the spots in the State Championship, if single A ball was an open division. When the truth has been said, probably the reason why Northwest Tn is getting shafted with the new district alignments. Sad but true.
  11. Both are decent teams, but CPA is way over hyped. It is easy to obtain that record with their schedule. Good fundamental ball players(sykes) and some even look like "stars" against the talent level they play against, but still just good fundamental ball players when matched up accordingly.
  12. Sisco has them playing like his father had Kenton playing in the 80's. a good season and a bright future.
  13. JV, I was looking at their last 7 games, losing 5 of them. They should get back on track against Bradford, but very well could get their lunches ate next week. Granted Greenfield may be at 10, but they either need to get their players in the right position or someone else is going to have to step up (consistently), besides Shane and Smith. I know that when Greenfield enters a tournament, you can throw the records out the window, they have always stepped up their play, but being mediocre one night and hot the next won't get you far in the regions.
  14. I give my congrats to Coach Frazier for getting these "young" girls ready for basketball. I don't see how year in and year out, they compete for such a small school. I believe all their starters are 16 or younger... amazing. A fun team to watch, should be an exciting tournament.
  15. I know the schedule is what it is..but to say that West Carroll hasn't had a cupcake schedule is ludicrous. The teams that have above average talent will prove tough for them. Middle College/ JCS/ Peabody/Greenfield/Middleton/ Lake County (probably the most dangerous team) can all match up and play a game with WC. Webb can't win it alone and you'll soon see.
  16. Dresden appeared to be clicking on all cylinders, until last night versus Lake county. Lake county is a mediocre team Hopefully they won't have to play them again this year, there are match up problems there, but if they shoot the ball like they have of late, I foresee the lady Lions going far.
  17. Westview is a very good team, but that scheme of substitutions rarely ever gets the Gold Ball..we'll see
  18. Monster, I'll give you credit..west carroll has the best single A player in the state, in my opinion, but any team is beatable on any given night. Webb is a class act on and off the court, props to him. Take some lessons, it might help you in life.
  19. Greenfield in the top 10?...2 players are carrying them..Shane and Smith..Greenfield goes as Reynolds goes...if he sits out there and only shoots 3's, then they usually have a difficult time in winning...he needs to drive and create some contact..I've watched them play twice this year, easy team to defend when they are jacking up 3's all night. In that region, Lake county is "running" under the radar with all the attention going to Peabody/Middle college.
  20. Halls has played a difficult schedule and I give them credit for their accomplishments, but they will have a difficult time in their region.
