  1. Maybe both places have the same water cooler company.
  2. BA would be crazy not to go after Creasy. MTSU most likely fired a better coach than they will find. The facalities at MTSU are horrible as it comes and I am so glad they don't have the championships there any more. It would be a coaches nightmare to draw in good players to a place like that.
  3. Quarles had 4 years at Furman before going ti ETSU. He took a job with ETSU who has champagne taste but a beer budget. ETSU just hired Gardner-Webb's coach because they have a beer budget but they could only afford Bud Lite when they were giving it away this summer.
  4. The way Oakland looked on defense last Friday Night stopping Boo Carter like they did MTSU would be making a grave mistake if they didn't offer Creasy that job and pay him what he needed to come on board.
  5. Sure glad that isn't my record for picking football games on here every week.
  6. Once the KLF doesn't suit your needs then try, try try again.
  7. A woman like that could produce more offensive linemen then David Ellis did.
  8. I don't wish this new coach anything bad but for a school buying out a coach aren't they really risking jumping from the oven to the frying pan or maybe their choices aren't high as they thought.
  9. Since it looks as if Tre Lamb is going to be hired from Gardner -Webb with a 20-20 record GQ should try and get the Gardner-Webb job. If I were firing coaches and paying buy outs I believe in trying hard not to meet this date again in 2 years.
  10. I've never seen a team that can come up with linemen like Oakland that look like college players. Now at least another team knows what we have been dealing with the past ten years. When Maryville played Bradley our biggest strenth was our offensive line and what a 14 year old ninth grader playing QB had the run of the field and why Oakland was so hard to stop. Maryville's problem is no athletes that can stop anyone after they break free like the 98 yard kickoff return. I really thought if they can hang on when it was 17-17 they might pull it off but it wasn't in the cards.
  11. Your mad at the ones they call and we're mad about the ones they don't call, works out pretty even. Some of the holds that get over looked would qualify as a mugging from a police officer's point of view.
  12. 3 and 3 tonight. East Robertson and Upperman surprised me this evening. Oakland came to town and played their game, that's all you can say. Hate to say it but Oakland held Boo in check so well tonight I couldn't believe it. Their defense is on another level.
  13. Don't look good for Bradley. Just plainly getting out coached.
  14. Bradley Central over Oakland Alcoa over Giles County Knox West over Walker Valley Greeneville over Upperman South Pitt over Oliver Springs York over East Robertson
  15. If he had stayed at Maryville you can bet he would have had 90 more wins to his credit and could of been the only person to break Rankins record if he wanted to do so. That is if Rankin ever decides to retire in the near future.
  16. This was once on the table back before the down turn in the economy back in 2008. Once things started to get better Maryville put all their eggs in the basket on improving the elementary schools and not as much towards the high school. It's been known for years about the expansion of Denso and Amazon coming to town so why wait til they get here to do something. Yes all towns around have got caught in this mass migration to East Tennessee and we all hate it except the turds that are benefiting from it.
  17. Biggest thing that has hurt the football is that they allowed the school to get out of hand on enrollment and now they can't accept tuition students. That's our leaders for us. If a family lives in the county and wants to go to Maryville they either move into the city or they can't go there. It will be like that for a few more years until new school is built. Other thing that hurts no one talks about is that the 9th grade goes to a different school half mile away at the junior high. Because of that the 9th grade can't compete in spring practice. We had a bunch of 9th graders come on during the season. Had Derek had those kids to work with in the spring he would have been in a better position at the first of the year.
  18. I would bet the house every single Maryville fan that takes NFHS will be tuned into the Bradley and Oakland game.
  19. It's obvious their not a good football program any longer and haven't been in a while. The records speak for themself but what you have mentioned sure tells anyone exactly why. There are some programs that you can't run the coach off with a blow torch because the headman won't pull the trigger and lets the coach hang around so long he completely destroies the program. The one thing that keeps the hopes up with Maryville is this was a rebuilding year and the coaches did a remarkable job in doing so losing 17 starters from the year before and actually 18 losing LaDue at the start of the 3rd quarter in the first game. The bad side of the coin was that we were in every game we lost during the season, all with in 7 points or less. Had we won those games Maryville would have got the respect they deserved on such a rebuilding job. Most of those loses were to either poor defensive scheme, bad play calls and one game totally mismanaged. It will be a good winter for us to work those bugs out especially being so close in all those season losses.
  20. If any chance in the world GQ went to Alcoa the very first thing he would do is jump to 5A. He absolutly would get nothing out of beating up on a bunch of corn dogs from Lizard Licks. That is a good Thanksgiving story though. Hopefully Coach Nix will be around for a long time, forget the loss to Maryville , he's doing a great job.
  21. The school board has been to busy dealing with Karen and the Library Book this week. Somebody should take it and throw it at her.
  22. It appears most of the last eleven years at DB hasn't gone well as it's past. The last coach had some good teams for most of twenty years but the last five just went to pot. I remember when they were looking for the last coach they said we're going on a national search only to hire somebody in their own backyard. When you do stuff like that then your running a good ole boy's system. What looks worse than the record over the last eleven seasons is that the neighbor from Johnson City has beat you 10 times in 11 games and right now has a 5 game winning streak. Next years seniors would have been in the 6th grade the last time DB won that game. How embarrassing that has to be to the fans at DB. This is what happens when you let the wrong people in charge of your program and I fear the same could happen to ours unless a stand is taken to prevent it.
  23. No wonder the ship sank. Even the Skipper had a better boat than that on Gilligan's Island.
  24. NIL is just a steroid shot for the teams that have money, high school or college. TSSAA should put a foot down and just say the NIL is Okay but you do have to play with the private schools because you have an unfair advantage amoung your competition period. On the college level it's to late to save that burning ship.
