Blackman's biggest game of the year is obviously Oakland. Can't imagine the coaches allowing them to look down the road though. At 6A, every game is big.
Not passing judgement ... Blackman is a really good squad. This is going to be a tough one. I'll be shocked is they don't put up 400+ running yards against MJ.
44-7 ... pitiful showing for last years 2A championship. For the record, you are like hemorrhoids and/or warts ... don't know really why you keep showing up, just wish you would go away.
You should probably concentrate more on TCA ... 28-21.
I will be stunned if the gold ball doesn't land in West TN. Too many big lineman over there this year with Mitchell, Adamsville, TCA, and Huntingdon. Unless they kill each other in the semi's, one of them should handle business this year.
If there was a Tennessee Gameday Crew for HS football, this would be the game this week. Good squads, great game coming up. Home team always gets 3 points for the home field advantage (Vegas Odds). I'll go with HC 30-27 ... both have punishing running games.
Fun one to watch. Power rankings have them number 1 ... 2 in the state. Preview of what we'll see in Cookeville:
9 HENRY COUNTY 5A 2 0 0 125.27 138.28
17 RIDGEWAY 5A 0 1 0 50.00 134.13
Blackman's coming to MJ next week ... wow, when's the last time MJ lost back-to-back games by 30+? Blackman is the real deal ... MJ doesn't have a chance. Not making adjustments like they need to, including removing some starters that shouldn't be starting in the first place. Hate to see a good squad spiral out of any playoff contention.
Couldn't agree more. Standing on the sideline with 120 players compared to 35 is a no brainer with D1 schools offering scholarships to both. Don't know why in the depth chart anyone past #50 at MJHS stays on the squad.
Lebanon's first string is strong but no depth. I was at the MJ game and they were toe-to-toe until the rotations started. Haffner is a quality QB that will be strong as this squad develops.
Gotta call you on this one ... Pat Summitt is from Cheatham County, born in Henrietta, TN. HS in Ashland City, TN. Clarksville is a far stretch to claim the wizard of women's bball.
