  1. Bearden conducted the 2nd and final round of interviews this week, with three candidates. The committee is now debating internally with the intention of making a decision Wednesday or Thursday with an announcement on Friday.
  2. That would certainly make sense.
  3. Wow, never knew Josh was in play at Catholic. Seems like a big job for someone like him, but also maybe the perfect job. Pretty sure he's not a teacher, so a private school job seems like it would be the ideal situation for him.
  4. Josh is a good guy, dealt with him a couple years when I was coaching my son’s team for his Rocky Top tournament. I know he seems to be the man when it comes to getting players, he’s done it everywhere he’s been(Fulton and Powell). If he’s one of finalists, I can’t believe someone would want to hire Rusty Bradley over him, but that’s Bearden for you. If Josh were to get the job, the Admirals may not sleep as well the night before the Bearden game as they have in the past. I agree with Johnny and FHS, I’d think it would be tough for him to leave Powell knowing they’ll probably win another gold ball next year with a bunch of the kids he brought in. Hated when the Potts kid left Farragut because you could see the kid had talent, but I’m sure the Farragut coaches loved it because of how big of an idiot his dad is. I’m not sure the kid is worth the trouble of his father.
  5. A couple of things: For one, this hire will be made and announced by Friday, as others have mentioned. Unless heck freezes over, that is the committee’s timeline. Now for an opinion, as a Farragut alumni and with a kid that will be on the Farragut High Football team within the next couple of years, it makes me jump for joy hearing Bradley’s name as the leader in the clubhouse. I hope for the Admirals sake it is him. He’s a snake oil salesman and his act has worn thin at every place he’s been, with maybe the exception of Webb. I’m guessing the boosters who have been pushing didn’t do a lot of digging. The one thing HTV is correct on is that a booster won’t make the hire, but he’s missing the other point and that’s the only the he’s said that accurate. Poor guy what’s so bad to be relevant.
  6. Pieces falling in place with Mullins stepping down as AD today.
  7. I heard this afternoon that Gaddis is taking over as AD.
  8. How do you Maryville folk get through life being such miserable people?
  9. Maryville reconfirming once again why they are far and away the worst fan base in the state. To hear them complain about officiate is the most ironic thing in the world. 19 for the Rebels is a punk and played dirty from start to finish. Can't wait to see Oakland thump Maryville next week, praying for a running clock again.
  10. No wonder they didn’t want Farragut to stream the game. Worst attendance I’ve ever seen at Blankenship. Also funny that the only highlights they showed pregame were from the 1980s.
  11. My family who lives across several states loves to watch the Farragut games on Friday nights via our LiveStream. I know a majority of the players who also have family members across the nation that tune in regularly, so this is not geared towards hurting attendance, but more so to allow people not local to watch. Sad that Oak Ridge doesn't allow this. I am sure this is geared more towards them being scared of taking money away from the gate, and that is crazy. Farragut hasn't seen any measurable decline in attendance, as they have been streaming games since 2006 online.
  12. Found out last night the Oak Ridge administration is denying Farragut from streaming the game online. Kind of a Bush league move if you ask me.
  13. I am looking forward to this one. I hope the Ads will roll tonight and play well all four quarters. I think last week was one of the best all around games they played all year. Hopefully they will build off of that and continue to peak each week. From what I remember last year, Cleveland has some very good skill guys that are scary and can take it to the house at any point. I haven't seen them play, but I am sure Cummings will have they ready with some trickery up his sleeve.
  14. High school football is very different there, my brother lives there and my nephew plays high school ball there. I do agree that you should rotate players in, but ONLY is they are capable of meeting the standards of the starters. I don't know you or your son, so don't take this personally, I am glad he was selected player of the week by the local fish wrapper. BUT, from what I saw Friday night, when they began rotating players at LB, the defensive appeared weaker. I am not saying it was their fault, but that was the only difference from earlier in the game, as I think all of the starting defensive linemen were still playing.
  15. You comparing a Farragut to any college or pro football team tells me all I need to know.
  16. I think it showed volumes on Friday night when they rotated their 2nd string LBs & DBs , Hardin Valley seemed to drive the ball downfield with ease on their 2nd to last drive. It looked like a score was imminent, but they put the 1s back in the game to keep them out. While I haven't gotten to see every game this year live, I have gotten to watch most of them thanks to the awesome livesteaming Farragut does. You both must be players parents. I think the numbers speak for themselves though, only giving up 113 points this season which puts them 3rd in 6A for points allowed. With that said, I don't understand the criticism, but I guess as the old saying goes "You can't please them all."
  17. When is the last time DB didn’t make the playoffs?
  18. I see the MildCats are still upset after not being revelant in a decade or so. Hey, all the Admirlas can do is play the teams on the schedule. I don’t get why you are so upset that our enrollment fell dramatically, not like we were hiding kids in closets in attendance day. Knox County Schools is solely to blame for that, they under zone Hardin Valley, then realized they had a $50 million school that was half empty. So, they went and WAY overzoned to the point that Farragut dropped into the 1500s for enrollment, which in turn overcrowded HVA. They has done a better job as of late, but there is still work to do on the zones in West Knoxville.
  19. When is the Matt Lowe announcement? Was supposed to be today, guess hey didn’t want to overshadow Ellison announcing he was going to Catlick.
