Sorry, but I live in the present...you see this is a what have you done for me lately world, not a what did you do in the good ole days world. What we did in our time & where we played in our day doesn't mean anything today old man. All that matters is the next game & I predict an Oak Ridge loss to Farragut that night. BUT, if I am wrong it won't be because of anything you do... it will be because of the young men that play on the field that Friday night. PS 1991 called...they want your state championship ring back, something about you sat on the sideline & cheered louder than the cheerleaders all night long & never played a down HAHAHA

Thats the problem with Oak Ridge, still living in "the good ole days" never wanting to admit that they have fallen. Oak Ridge NEVER dominated the way Maryville & Alcoa do these days. Also, Gaddis won with talent ie. Summers, Colquit & many many others. Now that the playing field has leveled somewhat he gets outcoached by the Price Kids, Davey Gillum & others because the game is beginning to pass him by just like the "good ole days" have passed by Oak Ridge. FYI World War 2 is over, Oak Ridge isn't a "Secret" anymore & you all haven't won a state championship in almost 25 years!!! Heres to the Good Ole Days!!! LMAO

Hmmm....2 guys from Oak Ridge bashing 2 young men that don't play for OR. Perhaps a little jealousy since UT doesn't come calling on Oak Ridge kids too often these days? I'm guessing if Woods or Bruce played for OR you guys wouldn't be saying this. Nothing against OR, good program with several good athletes. But you 2 need to realize that the 2 men you are talking about have been offered by UT & from my understanding a couple other high profile schools have contacted them so I think they are good enough. I really like this 32 team idea for 6a. What I don't like is all of them going to the play-offs. Thats just T$$AA wanting money. What they need to do in every single class is just take the top 2 teams in each region to the play-offs. That would give you a really good 16 team play-off.

Not true...I have seen several schools with 1200 or more kids go out with between 30 & 50 players on a given Friday, while some other schools with that population or more field 80 to 100

They reclassify every 4 years so at the end of the season they will be half way. They are looking at doing it now because there has been a very large outcry for this for the past 6 years when the Z plan first went into affect & it is only getting louder because of all the play-off confusion & the weak teams not scheduling tougher teams for out of district games because they want to get easy wins to help make the play-offs. so tough teams are having to travel several hours to find games. This would not happen if district games were all that mattered as far as qualifying for the play-offs. If you are saying leave it alone then I am guessing you are only looking at it as to what is in the best interest for your school rather than the overall landscape of TN high school football because very very few people have been happy with the Z plan.

Yes but 3 hours maximum for 1 practice with a 3 hour break before you can use your remaining time for the day

I agree that system hasnt been around in over 20 years & if everyone would look at alll the other states, every single one of them have more than 3 state champions. Also, I will say again the first round will basically be a PLAY-IN to get into the play-offs so quit crying about it.

Yes this is only on reference to 2 a day practices & some other states had already outlawed 2 a days. Many schools in TN had already done away with the old 2 a days & started using 1 extended practice. Of course the extended practice is out the window now since they are limiting practice to 3 hours.

To me it looks like in this projected 6a (which is used in at least 1 other state maybe more...so its nothing new) The first round of the playoffs is actually more of a play-in...just to make sure TSSAA makes their money. So technically the 2nd round would be when the play-offs start. As far as talk about the "real state champs" We already have that, everyone says Maryville is the best in the state unless it is a year that Alcoa beat them in which case they say Alcoa is the real state champs. It doesn't really matter what people think.

How many teams are in the NFL again? Oh yeah 32....thats the 32 biggest schools in the state & there isn't anything to be ashamed of if you win that state championship. I think Oklahoma uses the same setup. I don't like that every team would make the play-offs, but it's better than the BS play-off system we have now. I do think they should give teams the option to play up in that league. A team like Maryville would probably want to.

Ryan was OC at Sequoyah the last few years & was doing really well...why would he get ousted that fast? Where is Plemmons from? HTV can you confirm these firings?

Who did they scrimmage? What was the outcome?

Who were the OC & DC that he fired? Names?

Is DB 10-0 this year in the regular season? Followed by 10-1 or 11-1? Very good program most schools would give anything to be able to do that, but I understand the frustrations. The stadium picture looks nice...great pressbox. Will that be finished in time for the season?

How is the rebuilding going at WB? Coach Ridge did well at Greenback, but do the WB fans think he can get it done with the big boys? I saw them once last year, big line, solid run game. From view he has it going in the right direction. What does he have returning?

Maryville getting some bad publicity last couple of days thanks to Prevo...but lets talk about the future. State champs again? Is GQ ever gonna schedule a school from Texas??? How long will he stay at Maryville?

From what I hear Oak Ridge returns a ton of talent form last years squad. With that being said will the Cats return to past prominence & make a run at State? Freshman Tee Higgins is phenomenal at basketball & from what I understand he is the best WR at Oak Ridge. Will he be an impact player this year? Whos the QB & when do the Cats start spring practice?

This is a team I am really anxious to see. With their QB returning & having an explosive player such as Woods they will be tough to handle. According to the previous post they will return all their RBs & I watched them last year #6 was tough as nails. After talking with someone from Clinton I also heard they have their entire O Lin returning...should be tough to stop. However, that defense better grow up from last season...Im guessing Woods will help on that side as well.
