  1. I think her husband got the job after she got hers and yea I heard Lexington gives their coaches heck.
  2. I'm going to agree with you. Chester and that 3 ball scare me
  3. Good point. I just wish a lot of this processes were thought out more thoroughly and that every kid, coach and team had a fair shake. Local media, writers and talent scouts in all areas of TN support and push kids because of a name, school name, what circuit or team they play on and so forth when those players are not always the best players.
  4. Taylor has the heart of a Lion and is strong and plays physical. Her presence makes a big difference for the Lady Tigers. Also, mark my word, #10, i believe is a 10th grader, she will be good for them the net 2 years. Big, strong guard with decent skill and plays hard. A little fine tuning and they will have them something special.
  5. I love the title to this thread, Because I'll say it
  6. Bitter, no not all because i know how it works around her when it comes to girls basketball in West Tn. In fact, Q Miller doesnt even have to be included, if thats the case and my opinion still remains the same. And some people may not and some may not and excuse me, summer, fall offseason, regular season, whatever I have been around her enough off the court and seen her enough on the court, for a fact, to know exactly what i have seen and heard to know that its not a shot at a kid its fact whether you like it, believe it or agree with it. I know people all over this state and area and trust me, I am not the only one with this opinion. And there's nothing wrong with "the best players" playing on "the best AAU teams" or having D1 offers, i wish people would just make sure that "the best" is just that. Many people forget this is a place to post what they think, what they feel about things and their own personal opinion about sports, players, coaches, schools, teams, players and etc... So, for people t get on here and say somebody is taking a shot at somebody, and it hasnt only been you, that's not the case. I give credit where credit is due at all times. And yes, you know me and i know and you know i'm going to call it just like i see it. I played and coached on every level except the pros so I know this game and I know talent just like you do, so i'm not new to this by a long shot. Nothing personal toward anybody, but im not going to pacify anybody either
  7. According to the article I just read, "The Mr. and Miss Basketball awards are given to the best boys and girls basketball player in each of the state's five classifications. it is based on their regular season achievement. Academics and character are also taken into consideration." "High school basketball coaches and media members nominated the finalists and a statewide committee of sports writers selected the winners."
  8. Idk if i agree with this statement. 14AA is not that great aside of South Side. I think they still are top 4 without her. The issue I have with this nomination in AA is, as I have stated on another post, I have seen 3 other players in AA the last few years with way better stats and way better character and not be pushed as much as I have seen her pushed this year. I hate that media and whoever else has a hand in this only seems to push the kids who have signed D1 or play on a "big name" AAU team. I question her character after seeing some of her actions this summer and and in a couple regular season games.
  9. Madison gets my vote
  10. I am ready to see this. I am a huge Edie Darby and Micah Hart fan! People can rant and rave about Chloe and Tess all they want to, but this team is not the same if #23 isnt on it.
  11. Yes they have played good teams in Poplar Bluff tournament, Ridgeway Tournament, Haywood played them to 5 or 6 points and Madison played them to 10.
  12. Competition on the boys side in this district is awful. I read all their wins are by avg like 28pts. No test til Substate, IMO
  13. McKenzie Region will probably be at Bethel. 7AA with SS is at Lexington, i guess its 8AA is Covington I believe. Not sure about AAA since there's non relevant around our area
  14. So there is you final standings because SS won Friday, Lexington won friday and Scotts Hill loss....Oh wait Lexington and McNairy split so tomorrows game is big for both of them. McNairy plays Riverside Lexington plays Scotts Hill
  15. Ref only let it go for certain girls and certain teams. They dont expect girls to play physical or block shots or do moves that guys do. Officials are awful IMO
  16. I dont know his name either but he is pretty good
  17. Facts, Mahaffey is a good coach. They will be ready
  18. Im not! I was iffy to put Covington, because you guys are coming on strong at the right time
  19. A - Madison/McKenzie AA - South Side/Covington AAA - Hmmmm, probably Whitehaven
  20. One word, MOTOR! I dont care how good you can score, dribble, rebound, defend, pass, whatever. If you dont have a motor you are not a D1 player, IMO. I go to the state tournament every year and there have been 3 girls that I knew hands down was going to make it at the next level. #1 Crystal Dangerfield-UCONN #2 Rhyne Howard - UK #3 Jamairah Shutes - UofM Yes, there have been more, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt they were going to be good. There are kids committing and signing nowadays that cant, don't or wont even takeover a HS. If you dont standout in. HS game for whatever reason, IMO, your not a D1 player. I played D2 ball and I have seen some guys and girls on the D2 and NAIA Level that would run circles around some of these "D1 players" today, and it's all because of their MOTOR.
  21. If you were a college athlete, you definitely know it when you see it
