I see York beat Monterey by 11. Looking at the schedule York goes to Clay county Saturday. This will be a test for York.

Either CR is much better than expected or Macon is not as good. It's just the first game and time will tell.

I did talk to a fellow Sunday that said Meadows kid and Smith were playing. He wasn't sure about Laflue (sp).

Not on the schedule this year. JV or Freshman one played at Cookeville back in the summer and that is about all we'll get for those two for now.

One would be the Sells kid from Livingston. Another the point guard from Upperman Gore and two guard Allen both sophomores.

Upperman and Alcoa doing home and away this season? I know they played in Orlando in Dec 2016 at the KCA tournament and then a scrimmage game before the 16-17 season. Glad to see UHS stepping up and playing more competitive teams.

My thought are they can possibly win until they run in to Alcoa.

Both teams had a similar score against Smith County. YI 38-12 UHS 36-12 and both played Cumberland County both blew them out. Up to this point UHS has played a stronger schedule and football people always say a stronger schedule makes you a better team. YI is a talented team but I think UHS is just a tad stronger and have their own 3 headed monster in McCallister, Bush and Metzgar. This should be a good game and the stadium will be packed. Looking forward to this one. I think the team that makes mistakes looses this one and if to many mistakes could lose big.

Hurst is a very good young player. I think this years will give you a much better look at her as a player. She will most likely draw the number 1 defender game in and game out. Something she didn't have to deal with last year with her older sister and Levy on the team. UHS plays York at York Dec 7th. They also play in the Nike tournament of champions in Phoenix, AZ Dec 19-22. Big test there most of the nations top 25 girls teams will be there.

Until games are played I couldn't agree more with your review. I think York will be good and cause some problems for Macon and UHS. Looking forward to see how this shakes out.

They have a 6'5" sophomore. No 6'5" freshman that I've seen. A 6' 1" freshman coming from Upperman middle. They do have a couple of very talented guards. I look for them to be good this season as well a few more down the road. Everyone including me over looked them last season. I do not think that will be the case this season.

Usually with in a week or two of each other in past years. 2 years ago when mine played in Knoxville they played at several schools. Grace Christian and Knoxville Catholic just to name 2 of them.

North Carolina really has 8 classes. 1A - 1AA, 2A - 2AA, 3A - 3AA & 4A - 4AA. Teams will at times play a mixed schedule and then playoffs in their correct division. Their class are based off of ADM average daily membership. Once the 64 qualifying teams are determined in each classification of the playoffs, the NCHSAA sub-divides the classifications based on the ADM numbers. For example, when all 64 qualifying teams in the 4-A class are determined, the 32 schools with the largest ADM numbers will go to the 4-AA playoffs, while the smallest 32 schools will go to the 4-A playoffs.

This is correct I dealt with it last year on the boys side. It cost the coach $25 to join per year and others can nominate the player but the coach must be a member.
