I’m going with history/experience on this one. Westview lives for this game and I don’t see them losing it at home. I got Westview by 10.

Not familiar with East and Middle Tn but I got Westview over SouthSide by 10 and Covington over Fayette Ware by 15.

I’m sure this all stemmed from what happened in Dyer Co when an Arlington assistant Coach slapped a coach from Dyer Co. and a lot of words being exchanged. So there was tension before the game even started. And I don’t think ppl would be coming down on Ashley the way they are if the fan who attacked the Coach wasn’t her son so that ties her directly to them. But we’re all on the outside looking in so I’m just curious to see what comes of the whole ordeal, The truth and the outcome.

Dyersburg loses to Crockett. Dyersburg travels to SouthSide Saturday and that will wrap up Dyersburg’s season. Crockett will go to Chester Co. and should win that contest.

I think Randy Coffman should be included amongst all these great Coaches. He spent 17 years at Dyersburg High School(357-159 record). Then went on to help build Riverdale (Murfreesboro) into a monster of a team winning 3 back to back Class AAA State titles(102-5 record in his 3 years there). 2 of those years Ranked #1and #2 in the country by USA today which also garnered him the Naismith National Coach of the Year Award. He’s Currently in his 3rd year at Lakeway Christian Academy. Last year he won the NACA Division IV National Championship. Coach Coffman is one of the best.

I see there are a lot of ppl already placing Westview and SouthSide in the Glass House. Keep in mind one of those 2 teams will have to face Covington on their home floor to advance to State. This is the same Covington team that last year took a better Westview team than this year down to the wire during Substate at Westview. While Westview lost 2 very valuable players, Covington returned their entire roster and added a few tough players for depth to go along with what they had already. Covington has one of the best pgs in the State and their post player is as good as any post player on this side of TN. So I’m just saying don’t count Covington out on their home floor.

No she didn’t play in the game against you guys. She was out with Covid until that following week. She played 2 or 3 games after that and quit the team. So that hurt majorly. And like I said being without their Center from last year hurt as well cause she was a force. Her and the Coach had issues and she left the team before the season started. So those 2 are definitely key differences when it comes to a winning and losing record. Now they’re just trying to figure it out with 3 starters from last year and the only 3 with any real high school basketball experience.

If Dyersburg actually had the Coaches daughter right now along with their big from last season Aliyah Toles I’m sure they would be in the conversation with SS and Westview. But they don’t have either so it’s been a struggle. And I’m sure SS knows first hand how important that piece in the middle is being that they had to play without theirs last season.

Does anyone know how the regional tournaments is gonna be played with the Memphis districts not being included?

SS did what SS does and that’s play hard and aggressive on defense. That’s what’s expected of them and they did just that. And the kid you’re talking about for Dyersburg didn’t play. She was out quarantined. She’ll play this weekend in Gibson Co.

Yes she was on that tough Three Oaks team along with Aliyah Bonds that lost the Championship game against that Cordova team with Sequoia Allmond. And yes I agree with everything you said. Send me your email and I’m gonna send you something and I want you to come back and give me your opinion.

Ciara Taylor. Played a couple of games for Dyer Co in 2017 before tearing her ACL. Been in Memphis since. Last season in 16 games she was the #2 scorer in the city of Memphis. #1 3point shooter in the state making 64 out of 87. #2 in the state in steals with 83, and #9 in the state in rebounds with 163. All in 16 games. Her and KK Howard together is gonna be tough to compete with, along with all the pieces they had last year only losing one.

Agree 1000%. Dyersburg is tough. And the transfer they just got I think makes them the best AA team in West Tn. They lost a shooter and gained one of the best shooters/scorers in the state.

Westview has to make it to the regional championship before that can happen...

Man I think LC has more heart and fight in them than anyone in the state. They don't give up until the buzzer sounds. I saw that in the tournament with them losing to UC by 4. My opinion is that LC won that game but that's another topic lol. But I love those guys. LC has always been a scrappy team. I think they will definitely be a top contender.

You're exactly right they have to play together. Defense I think was our biggest problem last year. I told them all the time that they could score with any team in the state but can't stop a team of 4th graders from scoring. They realized that over the summer and focused on that aspect of their game. They are a tougher team now. They all have grown a lot also. McKinney is now knocking on 6'6. Rogers is 6'3 and even our shortest starter Cordell Person who was 5'6 last season is now 6'0 even. So we're longer as well. I'm excited to see how everything unfolds. It's gonna be some real good games.

But i'm a fan of basketball period. Like I said previously, wasn't trying to debate I'm just saying don't sleep on Halls. UC, Humbolt, and Ripley were the only teams that beat Halls and ppl still wanna rank them 4th with all 5 starters returning.

So I guess everyone is just gonna write Halls off huh? Since the topic turned to Westview, Halls won both meetings against them in June. 1st game winning by 10 and 2nd game by 5 after being down by 15. Their star player was demolished by Tavon King. Not looking for a debate, I'm just saying whoever thinks Halls will finish 4th in the district has to be crazy.
