I think givin right situation ,he could possibly find a position(special teams or safety) on D 1 fbs team might have to walk on to get it, but lets say he was in Atlanta, or Florida, he would be just an average or above average player. I love the state of Tenn but as for talent it really not here in this state in decent numbers per say. I love Uppercumberland sports but we are just a speck on the map sec talent in any sport in this area is extremely rare..

Ah If York gets the first down it becomes a "great coachin" decision. Easy to play Saturday morning quarterback. Maybe coach figured heck we cant stop Linder anyways so lets roll the dice and go for it . Do I agree with the decision "no" but that is his job.. and I don't want somebody telling me how to do mine.

Smith was young and made good run in district tourney last year, don't forget about them not sure if they lost anyone. Correct me if I am wrong ,but Macon just lost one senior? Upperman can shoot u out of the gym or they can shoot themselves out of a game. Maybe the big kid can get some put backs when they cant throw it in the ocean.. La lost alot by far ,but have the smoothest point guard in the district and a nice wing player.. Dekalb just is bare ,but have a very spiritual coach that can get the kids some emotional wins. Central dont see much improvement unless they got some new kids. Cannon like Dekalb good motivational coachin but Cannon lost alot. York has the premier player of the league so they are contenders depends if he is in shape and does not run out of gas to carry them thru a game and the season. Should be a fun year like always ..

Cookeville will end up 5 -5 or 4-6 depends on the Coffee County game. La will be the best chance to beat them rather than White and Stone, they should start out 4-0, before the Boro starts calling..

Will agree new kid at UHS is a game changer for that team, however I don't see any top end college talent in this district ,maybe the big kid at York can play somewhere other than jr .college but other than that , I just don't see any significant college prospects, note i have not seen the new Uhs kid play yet, so the jury still out on him.

York gained a lot of experience last year playing young players, York having success this coming year will not surprise me at all.

Is there starting to be any parent/player drama concerning these 7 and 8 graders(jealousy) ?all is good till they get to high school and mommy and daddy cant handle Betty Lou not getting to play, I see Macon Middle as kids that grew early and have stopped growing and believe it or not the 20 -30 point blow outs 5-6 grade are starting to be only 8 -10 point wins in 7 -8 grade(teams are catching up),good group of kids but by no means call them out as future state champion contenders too many contributing factors involved as mentioned..

8 aa and 7 a much tougher area district than 6 aaa. I prefer 8 aa and 7 a basketball, but lets not forget anybody that can go into Mcminn Central substate and win is pretty good. Coach Dodgen did that 2 years ago . I would bout bet the farm, Sparta as successful as they were could not have gone into Mcminn Central this year and won substate. Coach will get the most out of White county talent has to offer.

Sparta is basically playing for a region berth. Once they face murfreesboro teams it over in reality ,anyways. If coach can guide them to state during this era better start building him a statue. Good luck coach ..

comparin Macon to Cannon is not a conversation.. Cannon was close all season long could have easily won the district with a few breaks. Right there with La ,UHS ,and Cm.. They being where they are is no surprise to me.

really only true big girl in the district. The district really has no big girls mostly guard oriented .. really no "tall" bruising girls that u need to compete for State titles, my opinion.. I picked Cannon as the sleeper before all this started and I am not surprised. I predict they beat Cm for region title.

Jc better start recruiting ,future does not look bright in Gainesboro after this group of juniors granduate.. Clarkrange will continue to cherry pick fentress county and be good year in year out.. First year coach brown did not coach 7/8 grade, he also used to coach 5/6 but stopped that couple years ago. Is the flame from the fire dwindling, takes tons of commitment to win in the boro just sayin..

to bad for the kids,but tssaa had to set an example and they did. i think at this time it is appropriate punishment and truth be known ,i guarantee some players, some parents, and some fans were thinking along the same line as the coaches (to intentionally loose),but that will never be admitted.

Trust me , I have nothing invested ,but watching this kid move is special, if I were coach, he would be getting more pt.. At point guard regardless if he is a freshman.. Just saying.. Have him face guard #5 for cannon.. And shut him down..
