  1. Never mind. I reread your comment. Sorry about that.
  2. Do you really think PG and Cloudland are better than Knox Catholic? I’m seriously scratching my head over that.
  3. I could have written this. I’ve just been laying low, laughing at all the excuses. I know there’s no need to comment, but I’m sure glad you decided to comment.
  4. South Greene stopped The Black Knights on a 4th and 1 with 1:37 left in the game and held on to win it 38-33. The Rebels remain undefeated.
  5. 22-0 SG in 3rd, is the last tweet I saw. It’s been difficult to find updates on the game.
  6. Game 1: Macon vs Covington Game 2: Cheatham vs Grainger Game 3: Marshall vs DeKalb Game 4: Westview vs South Greene Who ya got?
  7. South Greene and Grainger both headed to state.
  8. I’ve seen about 3 different videos of this and to say the call was questionable is kind of you. There were a lot of terrible calls but this one was a game changer.
  9. Senior guard, Braelyn Wykle from South Greene should definitely be in consideration. She has been a key player since her Freshman year for the Rebels. She missed the first half of her Junior year due to injury and was not 100% during the remainder of the season. She has came out this year on fire. She is always fun to watch.
  10. Braelyn was pretty much on it tonight. She finished with 34. 5 of 9 from three. 4 of 5 for two and 11-11 free throws. She had no turnovers, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and one steal. Lamb also had a good game with 24 points and 10 rebounds. She looked very strong tonight against a very good team.
  11. Taylor Lamb, a senior at South Greene, who has committed to Tennessee Tech, should be Miss Basketball. She has been named to all season, all district, all region, and all state every year since her freshman year. She is a two time state champ and two time state tournament MVP in Class A. Her stats have improved this year even though the competition has gotten tougher and will be tougher. She has already been nominated twice and deserves the nomination once again. She continues to improve with each game and makes everyone around her better. She is the ultimate leader and everything a Miss Basketball should be. She is averaging 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, 3 assists, and 3 steals on a team loaded with other players who can pour in the points and pull down the rebounds. While she could easily try to dominate, she has shown that she is an unselfish player and is known to encourage the younger members of her team. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
  12. Oh, I agree with you. I also saw her at the trash can and her sister was sitting on the bench with an ice pack to her face. She had a black eye. They took a beating. I am really looking forward to seeing them come tourney time. That's when this team really seems to come together. I heard a lot of people saying this time last year that there was no way they'd repeat as champions. They have a way of getting all the pieces together at just the right time.
  13. South Greene has just gotten their entire roster back with the return of three starters who have been injured. The two returning from ACL tears still need conditioning and are not 100%. As they improve, the lady Rebels are only going to get better. Taylor Lamb has been phenomenal, playing her best ball this year. Against Bradley Central, she went for 32 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks. If you were impressed with her last year, expect to be even more so this year. With the loss of those guards during the first half of the season, Lamb, Williams, and Franklin really stepped up their outside and full court game and look much stronger than the past two years. They will not be an easy out.
  14. The South Greene vs Bradley Central game was definitely one for the books. Taylor Lamb was phenomenal. I am very glad I made it to that game.
  15. Thank you. I was thinking it. Pretty classless first post.
  16. Round 2: Daniel Boone over Monacan 68-54 Chuckey-Doak over North Greene 61-53 Lebanon over West Greene Greeneville over South Forsyth 62-59 OT Oak Ridge over Morristown West 51-43 West Clermont over Jefferson County 46-37 South Greene over Webb 53-34 Bradley Central over Shelby Valley 62-38
  17. Round 1: Jefferson County over Monacan (VA) 50-32 Knox Webb over West Greene 74-28 Oak Ridge over North Greene 54-31 West Clermont (OH) over Daniel Boone 65-55 Bradley Central over South Forsyth 83-26 South Greene over Lebanon 79-44 Shelby Valley (KY) over Greeneville 64-56 Morristown West over Chuckey Doak 56-48

  19. All games at the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic can be heard on WSMG 1450. It is on the Tunein App.
  20. I think you are correct to watch Grainger as they are a strong team. South Greene will look different from here on out. They have not had two starters all season and were down three starters in the Grainger game. Two have been released to play and the other most likely will be released very shortly. All three are guards. I have been impressed with how well they have compromised down that many key players.
  21. I'm excited for the season to start and a little anxious too. South Greene returns all but one and they play fast. I really don't see anyone out running or out hustling, but they have a couple injuries to get through. I haven't heard anything on one of the players, but the other should be back by the first of the year. They also gained some talented freshman but I'm not sure how it all plays in. I'll know more by Thanksgiving. South Greene has always filled their schedule with AA and AAA schools, so they know what the competition is like. I think they will be competitive from the beginning of the season, but I won't be too concerned if they have some hiccups. Several girls are going to have to pick up new positions to fill the missing shoes while they're out.
