  1. My son is a rising Jr OT , been wearing knee braces since first game of freshman year. They are mandatory in my mind. He hates them but will tell you they saved his knees at least 3-4 times in 2 years , After beating OR in the play offs last year first thing he told me when I met him on the field was those braces saved his knees twice tonight. I consider them a good investment in my mind.
  2. Wasn't very impressed with Beech, IMO way to much of a one dimensional team to win a state title. Catholics D this year gave up big plays but seldom allowed long drives. So I assumed we matched up well with them, which we did. Great to add another gold ball to the case at Catholic. Let's get ready for next season.
  3. No offense to anyone. But how is it every thread on Coach T gets hijacked into a conversation about Maryville. That was the first game of the year which seems like forever at this point. Catholic lost Maryville won, Catholic is private playing in public... Blah Blah let's move on. Back to Catholic vs Central ..How is Central's Run D and D Line play this year? OR had LB's that flew to the ball I would expect same from Centeal.
  4. IMO it all starts with the run game for the IRISH. If #31 gets rolling behind the O line it opens up things a lot. Our D has been playing better also. Looking forward to a great game.
  5. I must say great atmosphere at OR last night. My only compliant was the PA system was pretty bad on the visitor side. Honestly it was also refreshing to watch a game in late November on real grass. OR defense was as advertised. Was impressed that the Irish cleaned up the penalties some.
  6. This will be my first time taking in a game or even going to Oak Ridge since living in East TN. Plan to get there early, any recommendations on a good place to eat before the game? As as far as football, I'm sure the Irish will try to control the line of scrimmage first. O line needs to get off to a quick start and get a good push. Watched some film tonight with my son on OR really impressed with how they follow the ball and overall D speed. O line going to have to stay with blocks.
  7. Back to Football..... i have heard a lot about Oak Ridge's great D. What's their strength DL or LB/Secondary play?
  8. Both great young men and a good program, i too hope this gets worked out by Friday so Max can play his last game for Franklin.
  9. #68 Knoxville Catholic and #55 Knoxville Catholic. Link below is just an example of what they've been doing all year.
  10. It's ok y'all will know his name next year when he's at UT while the 185lb DE is working at McDonalds.
  11. IMO Soddy was very prepared and well coached. The played with a lot of heart all night long. Catholic didn't wake up from the long bus ride till 2nd quarter. Except for one game this year Catholics defense is very bad... IMO the scheme they run does not fit the personal they have.
  12. The game was poorly called by officials on both sides. Yes the last play looked like it should have been called but didn't But, Catholic had several calls that were BS. Oh well a win is a win even a ugly one.
  13. How does the battle in the trenchs match up? Irish have a lot to prove after last Friday night
  14. All good OL hold every play, the good ones just don't get caught.
  15. Best high school game I have ever seen in person. Aside from the questionable calls, The muffed punt snap and the turnover determined the game for Catholic. On to the next one, time to get ready for Baylor. GO IRISH
  16. You guys got it wrong it was not #6 but #65 a stone memorial OL. Looking forward to Friday.
  17. Hopefully Catholic can keep it close. Catholics defense and lack of depth is a huge concern. Regardless of outcome looking forward to experiencing my first game at Maryville.
  18. Catholic is playing Brentwood Academy in the regular season in Knoxville along with playing Baylor 2nd week. Its not a matter of not wanting to play the Big Boys, Its a matter of CAK and Webb not wanting to play Catholic. Crazy to me that those schools are within walking distance of each other and doesn't play each other.
  19. Knoxville Catholic scrimmages Oakland on May 12th. I do not know location yet.
  20. Catholics schedule is tough and loaded heavy early in the year. With the O Line they have and as much youth that played last year should be a good year.
  21. Looking forward to this game the quality of the skill players on each team is unreal. Catholics Defense has really been forcing a lot of turnovers as of late. Ball control will be critical for both teams.
  22. Catholics O line dominated the game. Catholic QB had all day to throw the ball.
  23. Been meaning to post for a few days but been busy. Last thursday was my first taste of The KC v Fulton rivalry. I was impressed with Fultons skill players. 24 could perhaps be the most elusive "slippery" player I have every seen any time he touches the ball it could go for 6. Really impressed with Fultons LB core also. Difference was in the trenches. KC's O line is on another level right now pair that up with a great QB and wide outs along with a stable of running backs is going to make them tuff down the stretch. Defense will be ok. There on the field a lot since Offense strikes so fast.
  24. PC by 3 plus TD's. CPA has a strong tradition but they are very young this year.
