  1. Very long time. Probably 50 years or more.
  2. Agreed! Good luck to all Upper Cumberland teams girls and boys!
  3. Congrats to 8AA! Sending two to the glass house!
  4. 1.) Edwards - no doubt a great coach Top notch program. One of the best in the state. Due in large part to him. 2.) Amonett - very solid coach, good young team. They will continue to get better 3.) West - solid coach, took some time but he has turned Montereys program around. And made them a contender. 4.) Bibb - solid coach, had some good years at PC. Didn’t make it any farther than Gville did last year. I think he will do fine at Gville, but will have a hard time competing with football. 5.) Pyle - has had some good years, talent has been lacking last several years. Here he may going to York. Still a good coach 6.) Sleeper - TC has good athletes but it’s a football town. Hard to change that culture. I think he does the best with what he has. 7.) Thomas - hard nosed coach, pretty good coach, has some pretty good talent. Sorta shocked they didn’t do better this year. But it’s a very tough district. 8.) Owens - knows basketball but schedules for wins. RBS used to have a lot of talent up there, now not so much. With 8 seniors exiting, they will be hurting.
  5. @DCRealist @Iceman2000 let’s look at some DC history starting with the last time they made the region tourney. 2012-2013: 30-7, (11-1 in district, T1) lost district championship to LA, lost region championship to LA, lost in sub state to Howard. 2013-2014: 16-14, (4-10 in district, 6th) lost to Cannon in district tourney. 2014-2015: 19-15, (3-11 in district, 7th) lost to Macon first round of district tourney. side note... 4 wins against Boyd Christian and got 5 more wins against home schools during HOF games, 4 games in one day 2015-2016: 13-20, (1-14 in district, 8th) lost to Cannon in first round of district tourney. 5-0 after HOF week playing 3 homeschools in one day. 2016-2017: 7-20, (3-11 in district, 7th) lost to Smith County first round district tourney. 2017-2018: 13-14, (6-8 in district, 6th) lost to Watertown first round district tourney. 2018-2019: 6-23, (4-10 in district, 7th) lost to Upperman in district quarterfinals. 2019-2020: 7-21, (3-11 in district, 7th). Just my opinion but you haven’t hit an all time low. Finishing 1-13 in district and 8th to me would be all time low. You have not been good for a long time. Looking at your schedule, it looks like they need to take the AAA’s off and try to get some region opponents or just more competitive teams but I wouldn’t schedule a bunch of home schools either. Having an overall winning record is good but does it matter if you still finish 3-11 and at the bottom of the district and lose in first round? Trying to pin it all on one guy seems a little unfair. You guys act as if Sanders walked into a loaded team and completely botched it. If in a year or two they haven’t done any better then I would say you could look at making a change. It is still high school basketball and the coaches have to work with the hand they are dealt. Yes they have to develop the players but players have to develop themselves also and buy in. Which can be hard when you have parents coaching from the stands...
  6. Upperman over Magnet big, Macon over LA big, Smith over Cannon big, and York over Dekalb pretty big. Standings look a little like this. 1, 2, 3: Upperman, Smith, Macon (2-0) 4, 5: York, Magnet (1-1) 6, 7, 8: Cannon, LA, Dekalb (0-2) This Friday's schedule: Upperman at LA Macon at Smith York at Magnet Cannon at DeKalb Thoughts?
  7. Next Tuesday the season begins! Looks like: York at Harriman Cannon at Coffee Smith at White Macon hosts Gordonsville Upperman hosts Creekwood Central Magnet hosts Nolensville.
  8. Tough to say who is better than who right now. We will know more though in about a month.
  9. Who all is 8AA playing in preseason?
  10. Who all is 8AA playing in preseason?
  11. I I believe Lebanon beat them pretty good this summer.
  12. Athletic Directors or Principals submit them I believe. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, I believe publics also have to turn in numbers to the state for funding? So the number they turn in would have to match up, thus making it more difficult to fudge the numbers. Privates obviously don't have to report to the state for funding.
  13. Depends on how far west you go I guess. If your talking Memphis, then I really don't think any of them can compete. Why do you think Macon can compete?
  14. 1 - SCHS 2 - UHS 3 - MCHS 4 - LA 5 - DCHS 6 - CCHS 7 - CMS 8 - YAI
  15. Great job to 8AA players and coaches for getting the sweep! These four teams left have all beat each other at some point this year. Tuesday nights games should be some good ones! Very tough to pick a winner, but I'm going with the under dogs, Smith County and York in the finals.
  16. 7AA #1 - Notre Dame vs 8AA #4 - York 8AA #2 - Macon County vs 7AA #3 - Sequatchie County 8AA #1 - Upperman vs 7AA #4 - Signal Mountain 7AA #2 - Chattanooga Christian vs 8AA #3 - Smith County Who do you like to win? I'll take Notre Dame, Macon County, Upperman, and Smith
  17. If you question him so much now, why did you think several days ago he should have been the COY? Side note... You all heard it here first... Upperman will be Region champs and going back to the boro! They are playing great at the right time!
  18. Opening the tournament tonight, DeKalb vs Cannon, who do you like? I'll take DC in an upset.
  19. Standings look like this: Co-champs: Upperman and Smith 1 - Upperman 11-3 (swept Macon) 2 - Smith County 11-3 (split with Macon) 3 - Macon County 9-5 4 - Livingston 8-5 (one game left vs Cannon, won't effect the standings) 5 - York 7-7 6 - Central Magnet 6-8 7 - Cannon County 2-11 (one game left vs LA, won't effect standings) 8 - Dekalb County 1-13 POY: ??? Blevins, Guffey, Huff (going to be interesting when the coaches vote) Just because Blevins has a lot of potential and is a D1 commit, does not mean he should be the MVP of this district. Strictly my opinion but Huff and Guffey have led their teams to the top. Obviously UHS and SC have others that have stepped up and played big at times, but those two have probably been the most consistent. Going to be close, wouldn't be surprised to see Co-MVP. COY: Can make a strong case for Sanders or Worsley. SC had won 6 and 7 games in the seasons previous to Sanders taking over. Picked to finish 5/6 this season and were co-champs. IMO he is COY, but Worsley has don't a great job turning that program around and making them competitive, still took some bad losses to some of the top teams though. The other stuff like defensive and most improved, I have no clue on. Probably see Endicott, and Blevins on defensive team for sure.
  20. SC looked very tight last night and Upperman played very loose/well. Still think these are the best two teams in the district, but both can be beat Thursday night if they do not play well (that could really be a mess with the standings). The tournament is going to be fun, and the bye is going to be big for someone.
  21. Wow, that is awesome! Good job to the Warriors! Hope they make it back to the boro.
  22. District and Region tourney is at TTU's Eblen Center is what I have been hearing.
  23. Upperman and Dekalb played monday 2-1-16, Upperman won by 25. So DC is 1-11 and Upperman is 9-3. SC at York tomorrow is the only remaining make-up game.
  24. Smith won over DeKalb by 20. Upperman beat Cannon 78-53. LA beats York in a thriller, 76-73. LA was down 17 at one point. Macon won by 20 or so over Magnet. Current standings: 1 - SC (9-2) 2 - UHS (9-3) 3 - MC (8-4) 4 - LA (8-4) 5 - YORK (7-5) 6 - CM (5-7) 7 - DC (1-11) 8 - CC (1-11)
