Watched the 4th quarter-
Only thing I can say is, everything stupid you could do, Marshall did in the last nine minutes of the game. Eli Stephenson would've been proud. In fact, he never had a collapse this bad.
Fake reverse by PC went for 60 yards. As soon as Marshall kids saw they had the wrong kid with the ball, they stopped running. Mindboggling fever dream play. Was that real?
Kickoff returns and penalties had Marshall inside their own 5 on offense TWICE.
Players looked like they had been given Thorazine. Most slow mo effort I've ever seen. A collective exhaustion and half-butt effort took hold.
Marshall staff couldn't get plays in. Team looked in disarray.
Funk looked to be sacked and literally threw the ball as far and high as he could, and his receiver caught it.
Marshall looked scrimmage-esque effort wise.
PC runners were like pinballs, Everyone was bouncing off of them.
So, offense, defense, special teams, and coaching. A quadfecta collapse.
Broadcast went to break at 21-7 with Marshall about to punt. Ball was on the 1 inch line so presumably Marshall was not in a good spot. When the broadcast returned, it was 21-14 and PC was kicking off again. No explanation from TV crew.
So again. Quarterfinals. Your team quits after 3 quarters with a 21-0 lead. How does a coach allow this to happen to his team? And everyone just shrugs and says "Good season, Git em next year..."
