  1. Whoever wins Mr. Football this year for any class absolutely deserves the award. However, I hope the Mr. Football committee (whoever those people are) doesn't choose one guy over another based to recruiting. For an example, last year former Mississippi State commitment Emmitt Gooden won Mr. Football for 4A for Haywood. However, there was a linebacker that wasn't selected for Mr. Football that had 30+ more tackles than Emmitt. (Yes, I know one was a linebacker and the other was a lineman) Not complaining, just hoping the committee will actually look at the statistics and team performance, instead of a players size and future.
  2. Hey guys! Not familiar with Region 6-3A at all other than knowing that Camden has been a very good consistent team for a while now. I'm on this thread to ask a question: What's wrong with East Hickman? Lack of athletes? Coaching? Support? Or are they not just a football school? I saw their schedule from previous years and I noticed they defeated (10-0) South Gibson County from a few years ago in the first round of the playoffs. I drove past East Hickman and it looks like a pretty nice school with good updated facilities, I'm assuming that's it's a new school. Obviously, 0-10 season is just down the road for the Eagles, and no kid wants to be a part of that. I like that the fact that y'all are supportive on this thread! But, what's wrong with the mighty Eagles? They're having troubles taking off, someone help fix their wings!
  3. It's their JCM replacement game. Remember that JCM closed in Jackson. Southside was quick to announce Blackman as their replacement. It was one of the first schools to replace JCM with another school.
  4. I feel bad for South Side football. They are 0-7 this year. Their head coach has been suspended for an on-going harassment investigation (haven't heard any updates from that story). Majority of the athletes in Jackson are at North Side or Liberty Tech. Last year they started 5-0, lost the last 5 games and failed to make the playoffs. With that being said, they are on a 12 game losing steak which I believe puts them as the longest in West Tennessee. The only good thing about this game, is that Jackson schools are on fall break, so there might not be any fans at this game, and if they are fans at this game, they will be watching Blackman and not South Side. They are not a good program. Last time they made the playoffs was 2012, .500 record was 2009. You more than welcome to come to West Tennessee, but your neighbors (Oakland) are playing Haywood, a very good 4A team. Blackman 49 South Side 7
  5. You're wrong. They're building an elementary school just a mile or two from the high school and middle school, just down the street. However, I heard off the radio that they are renaming the middle school South Gibson County Middle. I maybe wrong too but that's what I heard.
  6. You're absolutely right!!!! that pinpoint 5 thing that WNWS does sure does pay off! Gives me an expert analysis on all the teams!
  7. You're confused a little bit. First and foremost, I am not an Adamsville fan, I am a North Side fan. Region 7-3A is a tough, no doubt, however it is a top-heavy region. First, you guys lost JCM (0-10 in 2015) from the region. No one is buying South Gibson this year because their non-region games are hideous. Nolensville is in their first year of varsity H.S. football. Obion Central, TCA, Jackson Christian are combined 4-15 (Obion's win was against South Side). South Side and Martin Westview are both 0-7 and about to play each other. It's more embarrassing for South Side because they blew all of their opportunities to win a game. Your McNairy Central Bobcats are improving, but slowly. Despite injuries, your Bobcats are beating teams they are suppose to beat (South Side, Bruceton, and Middle College). So props to you! I hope your team does improve drastically. It can happen, look at Scotts Hill! That's Region 7-3A The "Big Boy" Region!!!!
  8. I know how high school schedules are run. They are assigned by two-year contracts. It's hard for successful football programs to finish their 10 game schedule because no one wants to play that team that is killing it. I did see the option of playing on October 7th against USJ. What's the difference between Middle College and USJ? Welllllllll let me just say it'll affects your record. Don't give me that fall break mess, that's BS. And what's the "Big Boys" league? Please inform me!!!!!!
  9. I apologize, y'all lost by 20 points (44-24). The game happened on October 2nd in case you were wondering. Just shocked that y'all scored after Goldsmith exited the game. Trezevant last year beat Manassas by 2 in the quarterfinals. I don't know what happened in that game whether if Richardson played in that game or didn't. So if Manassas played Trinity in the semis, yes, TCA would've won that game. I apologizeeeeee, but I'll take the "Expert" as my entitlement and move on. You may see a sticker that says "I'm the expert on CoachT!" on my truck in Vann Drive in the next few days. And if you do, please honk! Ready for what Reitz has to say, maybe y'all should text him! Nice upset for your Lions on Friday against the Rebels!
  10. Last year, TCA was not a good football team when Goldsmith wasn't playing. When they played McKenzie last year they had a double-digit lead and Goldsmith got hurt, they lost that game by about 30 points. They were 0-3 at the beginning of the season when Godsmith was not their quarterback. Since Goldsmith didn't play that semifinal game last year, we can't assume TCA would've won that semifinal game last year if they didn't play Trezevant. That's what most people are forgetting about.
  11. USJ kicker can kick one from Seattle and it would still go in. Made a 57 yarder during halftime of their game against TCA, and still got enough for around 60 yards. However, that wasn't during a play, it was halftime. I'm worried about both secondaries, especially USJ. Can they stop the run? Is USJ front 7 on defense physical enough to stop the defense? I do believe special teams will play a huge role, I feel like it'll be a night where Milan's punt returner will score a touchdown. Milan not close, but not a blowout either. Milan 49 USJ 41
  12. I agree! Dyersburg has always play both sides of the ball pretty well and consistently. They've always been one of the most consistent teams in the state! I don't think Dyersburg will run A'ville out of the water, but I do think it's a little too much for the Cardinals. Dyersburg 28 Adamsville 17 Props to D-Burg on finding a quality good football team to replace JCM, unlike your (A'ville) neighbors.
  13. Oakland should win this game, but it will not be a blowout. Haywood is apparently a lot more physical, faster, and a little bigger. I do like the fact that Oakland is coming to Brownsville to play Haywood. Oakland 31 Haywood 14
  14. Depends. But as of right now, I feel like last year is completely irrelevant. Some people just don't know when it's time to "move on and turn the page."
  15. Raleigh Egypt and Bolivar is over D'Burg and Milan. The winner of that game won the region, which it was RE. The Milan/D-Burg game wasn't for region championship, whoever lost would lose a home playoff game, which it was Milan. Great matchup? Yes! "Game of the week?" No.
  16. Tired of this mess. If you want this to stop, then McNairy Central needs to compete for Region Championship, and not be satisfied with winning 3-4 games a year. Trust me, teenage kids only have 4 years to be high school kids. And if those kids that are football players, want to win. They don't play high school football just to be "a better person 10+ years after high school." That's no fun! How do you compete for a region championship and stop all this recruiting mess? How about get a coach with a legit resume, and persuade the boosters club to do their job. McNairy Central has way more things to worry about than to accused Adamsville from cheating via recruiting. If you think McNairy Central is going to get every football player from Bethel Springs or Ramer middle school, you're wrong. The open enrollment allows this to happen for their players, for a 14 year old teenage boy to play football with a "proven" program. Also, if you think McNairy Central is struggling because all the "talent" is at Adamsville, you're wrong as well. The TSSAA can do everything to strict the recruiting, however, teams will do everything in their wil to get around them. There's hope that McNairy can compete for a region title next year. However, they'll have to get by North Side and Lexington (what I've seen they'll all be in a region next year, could be wrong.) what does that mean? McNairy has to beat North Side and Lexington and not have to worry about Adamsville. And do it again and again and again and again and again!!!!
  17. Many props to you that realized Dyersburg actually won the game and not Milan just "lost" the game.
  18. Please stop. Have you seen South Gibson schedule? I mean Cupcakes here, cupcakes there. Cupcakes everywhere!
  19. Uhhhhh.... How's Westview? I know they have a tough schedule but how's their performance? And it appears that if South Gibson beats Southside on Friday, they're in the driver seat to grab that 4th spot in Region 7-3A. What does that mean? The fourth seed will travel to either Bolivar or Raleigh-Egypt (whoever wins that game next Friday)
  20. For the first time, I disagree with what you are saying. I appreciate and applaud TCA for playing D-1 football. Over at Jackson Christian, they have so many students that are on financial support that they would have to be off financial support starting in August of 2017, so Jackson Christian went back to D-2 so their students can still be a JCS Eagle. If JCS was still D-1 in August of 2017, then I would assume their enrollment would drop a significant amount. Does TCA have a certain amount of students that are on that financial support? Don't know, and I don't care. Again, they are there for a "Christian education." I always gripe and complain about USJ for playing D-2. I hate because they are the only school in West Tennessee that plays D-2. While region 7-4A teams are playing tough games week in and week out, USJ are playing cupcakes, yet, the media are giving the Bruins all of the credit in the world. Again, the fans would want to see USJ vs Adamsville, Peabody, or even Huntingdon and not USJ vs Fayette Academy, Tipton-Rosemark, and FACS. And I'm positive it won't even hurt USJ financially, it'll even help them. They are scared. POINT. BLANK. (And this isn't the first time I've said this, won't be the last either) I never really viewed teams playing TCA will be considered a "non-level playing field." Yes, the chances of Trinity winning a state championship will be better in D-2 than it is in D-1. And that's largely is due to the TSSAA is adding another state championship for next season. But I don't think that'll be any fun. I don't know if TCA will go D-2 or not, my guess is they will, but my guess is just as good as yours. I would like for TCA to stay in D-1, but if they move to D-2, the world is not coming to and end.
  21. Wish more local schools play USJ? I've been saying that for years.!.!.!.!.!.!.!
