  1. Good thing I have their cell phone #s. They can run, cannot hide.
  2. So....does Cheatham have to forfeit all games the young man played in?
  3. Valid points. But, Lebanon has over 1900 students. That is like a small city! Growth is not the issue with lebanon.
  4. No. Creek Wood & Montgomery Central should be with the teams North if I 40. It is 2 hours from Creek Wood to Marshall, Tullahoma & Lawrence County while also fighting Nashville interstate traffic. Add another 30 minutes to Montgomery Centrals drive if they go below I 40. Going to Jackson area would be even farther.
  5. GB, I will counter your Region 4/5 proposal with this: Region: 4 Portland White House White House Heritage Springfield Greenbrier Creek Wood Montgomery Central Region: 5 Maplewood Spring Hill Lawrence County Tullahoma Nolensville Marshall County Region 4 is North of I 40 & Region 5 is South of I 40. TSSAA could conceivably swap the regions with North being Region 5 and go West while South could be 4 and go East. I have looked up each school and did geography. Data shows total mileage is less if you separate North/South instead of East/West. The only question mark (?) I would have is Maplewood. I would think they would go south because of their easy route to get to interstate system for travel and give the South of I 40 region another team to balance it out in MidTN.
  6. A lot has obviously been talked about in this classification issue. Public/private, moving up a class, co-op students, rural/city, etc. let me throw another bone in on this: A lot of schools may be effected with higher enrollment based on their virtual classes or programs that are offered. Most school systems do not allow students to participate in extracurricular activities if they are virtual HS kids because they only attend "school" for 1/2 a day, yet they are counted against their #s. Ponder on that.............GO!
  7. Predicting MidTN regions is tricky. I based my thought on Region 6 being North of I 40 and Region 5 being South of I 40, but with Hillwood and Maplewood having interstate access to 24 & 65. It is a mute point if Hillwood gets put in 5A. Looking at enrollments and privates declaring DII, cutoff numbers appear to be 820s through 1100s. The teams mentioned earlier in my post fall in these number categories.
  8. Up for opinions and thoughts: with Enrollment based on 50 schools in 4A Region 1: Greenville 913 Grainger 918 Seymour 1102 Sullivan Central 897 Sullivan East 941 Sullivan South 887 Region 2: Anderson County 1060 Carter 930 Fulton 987 Gibbs 1090 Sequoyah 1033 Union County 850 Region 3: Chattanooga Central 936 East Hamilton 1038 East Ridge 827 Hixson 941 Howard 839 Region 4: Cumberland County 1000 Dekalb County 856 Livingston Academy 876 Macon County 967 Stone Memorial 1061 Region 5: Hillwood 1103 Lawrence County 1082 Maplewood 919 Marshall County 902 Spring Hill 1053 Tullahoma 1042 Region 6: Creek Wood 986 Greenbrier 833 Montgomery Central 1077 Portland 1089 Springfield 1081 White House 874 Region 7: Chester County 918 Crockett County 859 Hardin County 1060 Jackson Northside 960 Jackson Southside 917 Lexington 965 Liberty Tech 1083 Onion County 900 Region 8: Covington 821 Craigmont 909 Dyersburg 834 Fayette-Ware 861 Haywood County 889 Kirby 1067 Millington 940 Ridley 860 Nothing concrete, just based on thoughts and geographic locations. Some noticeable absences are Giles County who will probably be 3A, Page who will probably be 5A & Lipscomb Academy who declared DII. Hillwood is very close to Enrollment max for 4A. They could conceivably go 5A, but not likely.
  9. Not a coach, but thank you for the compliment.
  10. That will probably be determined by his wife. I think she teaches in Dickson County. She is a long time basketball coach. With Parker doing some AD duties, he may hire her as a basketball coach . I am assuming they are going to move closer to PJP II. Pretty sure PJP II is paying him well as well. Probably more than any public school can pay him. Also, most private schools let children of teachers/coaches go to school free or a very reasonable fee.
  11. Does TSSAA have a policy about having to pay officials for mileage when all of them come rolling out of van knowing that not a single one of them drove their own vehicle or paid for their own gas? I would rather know I am paying an official more for playoff effort, than TSSAA masking it or officals taking advantage of me with mileage $ when they carpool together.
  12. All 4 finalists will interview with Dr. Nash. I guess he will have something to do with the hire. Going out with a Bang!
  13. This is a very good hire for Whitwell. They actually overachieved, much like I did with my wife. Kudos to Whitwell for giving a man a 2nd chance. Tracy is a very good coach. He will promote Whitwell high school like no other. Tracy earned a lot of respect from a lot of people by making the skeleton's in his closet transparent for people to judge him. He wore it and made himself a better man. Good luck Coach Malone and congrats to Whitwell High School.
  14. To the best of my knowledge, to be an HC in TSSAA, one must be a an assistant coach for 5 consecutive years in TN before one can be an HC........if not a teacher. It is hard for me to believe that WCS would hire a non certified person to teach. He must have a teaching license I'm sure.
  15. I don't say much on here, but what the people over at East don't realize is that Coach King is very knowledgeable of the game. He is a good football coach. It is hard to get anything done when you are constantly being battered by the community. Good luck to East. I hope All ends well for everyone.
  16. The only place McConnell would leave for is Camden.
