  1. Good article. Coalfield has the most starters returning, not counting those coming back from injuries that were starters before. Loaded on both sides of the ball, with depth on the sidelines that can rotate in as well. Some of the best coaching around. Can't see how they are not ranked #1. The run game will be far better than most predict, and the pass can't be stopped unless someone has 4 db's that actually know how to cover, and they will definitely need at least 4.
  2. Coalfield has 9 Offense and 10 Defensive returning starters from last year. The RB position will be far better than last year. Basically the whole team is back and in better shape than last year.
  3. Coalfield Schedule 2017 Wartburg York Institute Harriman Sunbright Oakdale Marion County Midway Greenback Oliver Springs Oneida -9 Offensive and 10 Defensive returning starters. Not including 2 returning from injury. They are now strong at every position on the field. I feel sorry for whoever has to guard #54.
  4. Hoping to come see them play this year on the by week.
  5. Surely one of them will step up by the Fall. A lot of gains can be made between that Junior and Senior year if they work hard enough in the off season.
  6. I think GB has was it takes to win state. They did get help from the refs. Some terrible calls on phantom pass interference in the end zone twice. Might not have changed the game but sad that something so obvious was missed. GB QB did much better the 2nd game than he did the first and was the difference in the game. Unfortunately for GB next year almost all of CF 19 of 22 on both sides comes back next year bigger and better. That game should help motivate CF to work hard in the off season for next year. They have the talent to go all the way next year if they work hard.
  7. Lets just stick with CF being the underdog. Every week we hear how they will get beat, and if it wasn't for penalties, fumbles, etc it would have been a blowout! This seems to work! Right? The Pressure is on the GB Seniors. Almost all of CF will be back next year.
  8. #3 was a really good kid. #88 is back and it will be very hard for Cloudland to keep CF's passing game from less than 400 yards unless they have some very skilled DB's.
  9. I hope its a good game, because its a long drive from CF.
  10. Did they score 60 points on Harriman with just a running game or can they pass?
  11. No offense to Hancock County, but they better have 4 DB's that can cover or the clock will be running nonstop in the 2nd half.
  12. Coalfield seems to be getting better every week. A lot of weapons on offense to choose from. Coalfield's coaching is very very good.
  13. Yes you played fundamentally better against Oneida, and several GB players should have been kicked out of the game against Coalfield, and will be kicked out in playoffs with neutral refs.
  14. Oneida couldn't hang with GB, but their going to blowout Coalfield who hung with them all the way until the end?
  15. Reading all 50 pages and I am truly amazed that GB fans think its going to be a blowout. Barely won last year when Coalfield literally hiked the ball to the RB, because 1st and 2nd string QB's were out. 50% of the starters were Sophomores or freshman last year. This year 9 starters are Juniors or below on both sides of the ball. I'm not putting GB down but these are facts anyone can look up for themselves. I think GB has a great team with respectable coaches and very respectable players. There will be no fighting on the field and these kids actually get along with each other and don't talk trash to each other.
  16. Most High school ref's don't throw flags on the so called pass interference calls that were made last night. Not being picky, but haven't seen that in a long time. Without that, it was a 20 plus point difference over Harriman. Coalfield is 90% Juniors or below staring on both sides of the line. Last year GB barely beat a mostly Sophomore team with no QB.
  17. As I said earlier, Coalfield has a slight edge at the skilled positions. Pace got caught from behind by the DB on the other side of the field. Harriman only scored 1 touchdown the entire last half until the end of the game. Great 1/2 time coaching on Coalfield's part. Almost all of Coalfield's starters are Sophomores and juniors. Now I'll add that they have a slight edge on the line as well.
  18. Pretty even matchup, but Coalfield has the slight edge in overall talent at the skilled positions.
  19. I have known Ted for years and his is 100% for the kids. Making false accusation about people is really not the way to go. Ted is a good coach and well respected by the kids and parents alike. Plus making Coalfield look like their doing something wrong by saying 8-10 kids are not zoned for Coalfield is wrong. Name 1?
  20. Midway played a good game. They have a good running game and should be tough for everyone else that plays them this year. CF's DB's fell on the first thrown, and then after that Midway did nothing in the pass but throw a pick 6. Which I'm sure is why they chose to stay with the run even being down 16. I take nothing away from them, they are a good team. Hard to predict anything this early on as these kids are so young, they grow as the year progresses.
  21. How are they going to stop Coalfield's offense with their fastest player not playing on defense? Plus Coalfield has 3 DB's with 20+ games starting on Defense.
  22. Hopefully it will not be a blowout early. Oakdale seems to be motivated when they play Coalfield.
