  1. Thinkin MUS will won this one, and I don’t think it’ll be especially close (2-3 scores). I believe CBHS is down from the past few years. They do have a couple of backs who are very dangerous though, so they will have a chance.
  2. Definitely not trying to say that turnovers are the reason for the outcome - sorry if it came off that way. Again, I did not see the game and by all indications Mayfield dominated. I was just saying Lausanne did not help themselves with the turnovers. I would imagine the Lausanne staff and players take this as a learning opportunity and get better from it.
  3. Where did you find highlights? I’d love to take a look at them.
  4. My guess is a combination of the 2. CPA lost a ton of seniors from last years championship team and ECS was poised to have a big year. I guess we’ll see as the season goes on which was the bigger factor in this game.
  5. Oh wow not sure where to start, especially since I didn’t get to see the game. But I will say I’m surprised by the result. Clearly Mayfield has a great team and program, but I don’t remember the last time Lausanne took a beating like that. From what I’ve gotten from poking around, obviously Mayfield is the better team but Lausanne did themselves no favors with turnovers. I am absolutely not saying that changes the result but I would imagine it makes it a closer game. I look forward to seeing this one in person next season when Mayfield comes to town.
  6. Highly doubt it ends up as a 3 score game either way. After reading up from the Mayfield people here, I think the overall talent level is probably pretty even, but I’d probably give them the slight advantage, based on experience and being at home. But I won’t be surprised at all if Lausanne comes back home with a W. Will Mayfield have a live steam online by chance? I was hoping to make the trip but doesn’t look like I will be able to.
  7. Thanks for doing it again KWC!
  8. I understood the argument from a couple years ago against a co-op with Power Center Academy because it was a charter school with none of the standards/tuition requirements of a school like Lausanne. And I also admit to being wrong about the number and quality of players from that season. Bowie School is a different situation IMO. It is another small private school with a very hefty tuition so that argument doesn’t really make sense. Lots of schools, both public and private, have similar arrangements across the state. I get why Lausanne still gets heat for it however because of the year with Power Center. And the one player you are talking about actually graduated from Lausanne as he transferred there after the Power Center co-op was shut down. I’m not trying to make excuses even though I’m sure it seems that way, just putting the facts of the matter out there.
  9. They are referring to the fact that Lausanne has a co-op agreement with Bowie School in Memphis that allows students at Bowie to play football for Lausanne since they do not have their own program. Though, it doesn’t create a huge advantage as some posters like to hint at. Last season they only had one player on the team from Bowie, and he did not see the field too often on Friday nights. Thinkin Booger might still be upset about the gold ball contest from a couple years back, even though they had no players from a co-op that season.
  10. I wish that BA game that y’all got on the schedule was on ESPN instead of BA vs Knox Catholic. I wish I was able to watch that one. Did y’all get a home and home in that series?
  11. I would expect BA and MBA to be the cream of the crop once again. Maybe an Ensworth, Baylor, or McCallie has a good year and makes a run. I think Memphis area schools will be down this year after they all lost quite a bit. Knox Catholic is somewhat of a wild card coming over from D1, but they haven’t fared too well against BA recently so I would think they are probably still a bit behind them
  12. In the past the defense has been outstanding, but they have had some DUDES. By my count, 6-7 from last years defense went on to play D1 ball with a few other off to play at lower levels. It’s a big question mark this year IMO. New defensive coordinator plus they only return 2 starters on that side of the ball (if my math is correct.) A bunch of guys will be going both ways is my guess, which will be different from years past when they didn’t have huge numbers but most weren’t forced to go on both sides of the ball. The big d-lineman who was mentioned earlier will have to have a big game.
  13. Mainly run but they are not afraid to throw it around when needed. The last few years they have had tons of success and scored the ball very consistently for the most part. It will be interesting to see if they have the weapons to it this year. Not that I’m not confident in the team this year, but it no doubt would have been a fun, high scoring affair in years past. Again, they have some talent but are very young and inexperienced so we all know how that can go lol
  14. Yes, Lausanne is almost always right around 40. Across the front they will be big and physical. I’d say (and this is just a guess) they average around 6’2 270 up front on offense based on what I believe they return from last season. They will be entirely new at qb and rb with only one receiver returning from last year. The new qb is a bit undersized right now as a sophomore but has lots of talent and potential. His older brother is a qb at West Virginia right now, for whatever that’s worth. The new rb is a sophomore as well but did get quite a bit of run last year, granted it was generally once games had gotten out of hand. He won’t be Eric Gray, but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have a big year. What do y’all look like defensively? Lausanne hired a new DC this year so it may be a bit of a question mark for the upcoming season.
  15. Again, I don’t know the exact reasons as to what did or didn’t happen because I haven’t asked. I do know that in the past Lausanne has chosen to stay at 9 games because they are forced by the school to have an open week 2 date. As a team who expects to make a deep run each year, they like having a week late in the year as an extra week off to allow the players some healing time going into the playoffs.
  16. No idea what the reasoning is behind there being no game because I haven’t asked around about it. But I doubt that Lausanne backed out because of being scared or anything like that.
  17. They lost ALOT. 15 seniors from last years team, many of whom went on to play D1 ball. They will be young and inexperienced, but talented nonetheless. Lausanne will look the part physically as they have a spectacular weight program, but they will make the journey with only about 35 players. As I said in another post, they have some young guys coming up that they are very excited about but many question marks remain. How will Mayfield look this season?
  18. I haven’t really stayed in top of things this off-season like I have in the past so I’ll be a bit before I know much about what they’ve got. Don’t know about any of the new guys coming in. I think up front they lost 2 linemen but felt good last year with their backups. It’ll be interesting to see how they are in the skill areas. They lost QB, RB, most WRs, DBs, and LBs so they will definitely need some new guys to step up. No idea if they have any upcoming freshmen or transfers who they’re really high on.
  19. Rising sophomore, Craig Cunningham. Been with the program through middle school. Like BreadTruck pointed out, its hard to imagine anyone being Eric Gray level any time soon, but the staff is very high on him.
  20. Think BGA has to be considered the favorite going in even with the coaching change. ECS should be right there too with how much they return. Can’t count out CPA or Lausanne due to what they’ve shown, though I think everyone expects both to take a step back considering everything they lost. Not sure how Norte Dame stacks up this year but they have been one of the tougher teams in division since they came over from the publics. Any other teams out there that could step up and surprise?
  21. How is CPA looking for basketball this year? There are quite a few football players who also play basketball at Lausanne and I’m sure they’d love the chance to redeem themselves in February lol
  22. I’ll take MUS. They have a great defense and just judging off of scores it doesn’t seem as if BA has gotten a ton going offensively this year. Somewhere in the 21-10 range
