  1. Didn’t mean it as an insult, hope it didn’t come off that way. I was just replying to the guy who said they added 2 SEC players to the defense by saying they didn’t truly add them defensively most of the time but like you said situationally. Anyone know what the issue is with the game day and location?
  2. Just my opinion based on what I’ve seen. Devin Boddie Jr is a great football player but is much better on the offensive side than defense and Keveon Mullins is a good defensive end but I think he is more of a weapon on offense as well. Like I said that was just my opinion based on what I have seen from them this year, not meant as a disrespect to anyone. The Lausanne offense is much better than last year and I will be surprised if they don’t score more than the 14 that they put up last year
  3. Been waiting a full year for this one to come back around... Lausanne wins in a game that showcases a bit more offense than last years game. I think both offenses are better and both defenses are worse. Lausanne hasn’t played anyone very good yet, but they have been extremely impressive in those wins. I hope Whitehaven plays like they did Friday against Cordova and not like they did against Ridgeway and this will be a great game!
  4. They are going to throw the ball. If the Whitehaven secondary can hold up, they may run away with it. Don’t think Cordova will be able to run the ball very effectively tonight.
  5. Can’t get any Memphis football talk overboard the D2 board, so guess I’ll join in here! After watching the games last Saturday, I will say I was very impressed with Cordova and not as much so Whitehaven. However I also know what Whitehaven has and how good they always are. I’m going to go with Whitehaven in a close, high scoring game because like someone mentioned earlier, it seems like Cordova has had trouble getting over the hump against them the last few years. Hate to hear about the young men who transferred and now have to sit. Hopefully the “final” ruling will not be final and they find a way to do right by the kids. Sometimes I think the TSSAA forgets that their rules really affect 14-18 year olds and not grown adults.
  6. Told y’all ECS was going to be good this year!
  7. I will be here! Took the off-season away from the message boards but I’m back just in time for week 1!
  8. Posted a bit about them on another thread, but I expect ECS to be the surprise on the west side of the state. They return a decent amount and another year in the system will do them wonders. Will they beat Webb Thursday? Possibly, but I have no idea what to expect from Webb this year. I see ECS finishing 2nd in the region behind Lausanne
  9. Been off the boards most of the offseason, so I guess week 1 is a good time to hop back in. (BTW that’s much better than when they used to have that dumb week 0 thing lol.) As far as this season goes, I think going into it Lausanne has to be considered the favorite based strictly off of past success and returning players. But I don’t think CPA is very far behind, if at all. They are talented, experienced, and well coached which is a recipe for success. It will likely depend on how well Patterson has recovered and if he will still be the same kind of player. For the young man’s sake, I hope he is. Notre Dame obviously will be talented again after making a run to the state title game last season and adding David Carter was a great hire on the defensive side of the ball. I also expect Grace to be improved in Rusty Bradley’s second season. Over here in the west, I think a couple of teams will surprise people across the state. St. George’s had a down season last year, but returns some playmakers and linemen who are now much more experienced. ECS will also be much improved and more comfortable in Rodriguez’s system and I’m guessing they will making a big leap this year. I have them finishing 2nd on the west side.
  10. It’s ridiculous the way that D2 is currently split. There are 46 (would be 47 with KC) total teams, yet only 11 are in the large division. The easy thing to do is split the division evenly with 15 in D2A, 16 in D2AA, and 16 in D2AAA. With that, you are able to split each division into 2 regions. It would affect the Nashville area teams the most, as some would have to travel east and others west to play some region games. What is the enrollment at KC? If my math was correct, its right around 650 which means there is absolutely no way they should compete in D2AA where most schools have 200 fewer students.
  11. Didn’t know where else to post and didn’t feel like starting a new topic, but I do want to say congratulations to Eric Gray from Lausanne who was recently named the Tennessee Gatorade football Player of the Year. A great honor for an outstanding player and young man!
  12. I think CBHS is definitely somewhere on that list, especially considering their only loss was by 7 to the team you have at #2. FWIW, CBHS and Lausanne scrimmaged in the preseason (I know that’s doesn’t mean too much), but it was a very close, physical scrimmage. I believe Lausanne could compete with (not necessarily beat) any team in the state aside from BA.
  13. I am curious as to what you’ve heard on the situation. In no way, shape, or form should anything like what happened be allowed and they should have some type of punishment but from what I have gathered it is actually not as bad as some of the things that were posted on this board.
  14. Have you read any post that I’ve made...? There is not one “rental” or “co-oper” on that team. That was shut down after last season by a bunch of excuse makers. So the Lynx went out and did it again without the co-op. It is funny to hear excuse after excuse after excuse whenever Lausanne wins something. Next, they will be going for back-to-back in basketball as well and I can only imagine the outrage if that were to happen.
  15. Congrats to the Irish on a great season. I really thought the game would be much closer, but Lausanne really came to play on Saturday. You could tell that was a group that had been in the situation before. Yes, #2 became eligible. I chose not to confirm anything on here as I believed he would be but was not certain. He proved to be a huge factor in the game obviously, so I’m extremely happy for that young man. He made the most of his one opportunity this season. Booger said earlier in the week that he hoped the Lynx liked contact. I think it’s safe to say that they aren’t afraid of it. Their defense physically dominated the Irish all night aside from the late drive when the game was already in hand. Even in the secondary they extremely physical. Obviously the offense went straight through Eric Gray. Someone talked about him having 300 yards but only 2 TDs and the Irish could still win. 280 and 5 TDs makes that a bit harder. I expected them to have to throw the ball a bit more, but that ended up not being necessary. Going into next year, if the Lynx can replace a few of those senior linemen, they should be in a position to get back. Anyone know the team break down of CPA? The west is matched up with them in the playoffs next season.
  16. I thought I had addressed this (multiple times actually), but I’ll try one last time in case you aren’t just giving me a hard time and actually curious. Lausanne does not co-op anymore. And don’t act like ND doesn’t have some good things going for them... Just a UT commit and a big lineman headed up north a state who could probably play at an even higher level. That’s just the couple I know, so I’m sure there are quite a few more. Lausanne win streak is 26, just trying to get to 27 this year. Hopefully they will be able to worry about 28 next August
  17. Well the good thing is we get the matchup on Saturday. Predictions and what ifs don’t mean anything, all that matters is what happens between the white lines. I see this one being a really good game.
  18. KWC, I agree with you on some things and disagree on others. This is one that I’ll have to disagree. BA would dominate Whitehaven if they played this year. That’s much more of a credit to BA than a discredit to Whitehaven. As to the actual topic at hand, I said before the playoffs started that BA could beat any team (in any division, frankly) as bad as they wanted to. That’s how good they are, probably one of the greatest in TN history. I still think it will be a really good crowd on Saturday for each of the games, and the late game would probably be better if it weren’t such a “sure thing”. That’s just a personal feeling because no one really knows how the D2 crowd will be this year, because they’ve always been stuck on Thursday. Rotating the schedule is absolutely the best way to do it, so that each division gets their opportunity on each day. If they wanted to have the D2 championships the week before then that would also be a valid option.
  19. Here we go with the co-op thing again... Letting the excuses start early, even before the game is played! Sounds like ol’ Boog may have some worry in his brain...
  20. No QB or RB specific spots. The young men who I have bolded are those who I believe will likely make the All-State team as well.
  21. Well, I sure hope he doesn’t have a house call the first time he touches the ball! LOL. But I am sure this will serve as some extra motivation for the young man on Saturday. Congrats to Eric Gray on winning for the second year. Here’s to hoping he proves why he’s the 2-time award winner!
