And since we are trolling and referencing individual accomplishments, we can't even determine who the best individual within the state is. Let's just pick 138, we could have had McDaniel (AAA) vs Ivy (D2) vs Mason (AA) whose families all actually reside in TN. But nope, god forbid we actually see those matches. There were so many really good matchups that should have happened to determine who was truly the best in their weight class. Talk about bragging rights. Or 152 with Hurst, Foreman, and Taylor

I guess this is the logic that happens when you get thumped 51-14 in 2021, 50-16 in 2020, and 45-26 in 2019 by your private school rival right across the street. If that is recent success, well.... Yikes Seriously, McCallie is great with superb kids and lots of good programs in that list but I don't personally know OP so I'm going to assume this was a troll post. After all, here I thought almost all and any success was due to parents followed by where and with whom their kids wrestled as young kids coupled with an individual kid's level of desire, because what you are really doing is listing individual accomplishments.

I think it is unavoidable that many of the very very best leave. Tennessee, as a whole, will not be at the level of PA, NJ, OH, or CA any time in the foreseeable future. The population of PA is roughly 12.8 million. The population of TN is roughly 6.8 million. The simple math with respect to those numbers and how that relates to wrestling schools, participants, coaches, private clubs, private instruction, etc. don't bode well for smaller states. Even NJ has 8.8 million people within the state. Look at Nic Bouzakis who was at Lake Highland Prep in Florida. That is a good wrestling school in the sunny south and a large populous state and yet he still left to go to Wyoming Seminary in PA. I do think the exodus will be limited to apex wrestlers like Chittum, Cooper Flynn, etc.

That is great for both Cody and any TN kids that would have been in his weight class. Honestly that is how I figured it would play out. Cody is such a talented hard working wrestler and is beyond all doubt ready to join the elite ranks of collegiate wrestling over the next few years.

True, but he is also 18 years and 7 months old which is unfortunate as this means he turns 19 during his junior year and is therefore ineligible as a senior. From TSSAA: No student shall be eligible to participate in any athletic contest during any school year if he/she becomes 19 years of age on or before August I've also heard he isn't wrestling for Cleveland (could be wrong) this year so unless his family physically moves he won't be eligible within TN.

Cody was the only boys HS wrestler from Tennessee to make it to day two of the tournament and he decided to bring home a belt. All in all a dominant performance. His take down at 1-1 in the third period in the round of 32 against Harer was really slick. Knee slide out out of bounds, swings it back it in, and gets the two to clinch in what was the closest match of tournament for him. I'm sure collegiate wrestling is his next stop as I can't imagine he would care much to continue with HS given his age and abilities. Well done.
