If they hire Davis, will Vestal stay on staff or go somewhere else?

I have a buddy in Etowah who told me that there are some community members who are pushing for Vestal. Not sure if that is true, but who knows.

Did Vestal end up interviewing this week?

Any idea who else has interviewed besides DD? Just curious!

I read on the Waverly thread that Boldin’s departure from Whitwell goes a bit deeper than everyone thinks. I believe the quote was that not everyone “knows the whole story.” Anyone care to share?

I have heard that Marty Wheeler from Covington, Shawn Witten from Elizabethton, and another coach i don't know are finalists.

Class AA - Brantley Baker - Meigs Co. HS 2017-2018 - 25 ppg, 7 rbs pg, 4 assists pg 2018-2019 (so far) - 21 ppg, 7.5 rbs pg, 5.4 assist pg.

Baker had 25 pts, 10 rbs, and 8 assists against Sequoyah. Last night against Kingston he had 37 pts, 11 rbs, and 9 assists. Newman had 22 pts and 13 rbs against Kingston. We are playing alright as team right now and getting some good minutes out of some freshman (Huckabey and Owens). Just hope we can be consistent over the next couple of weeks. If we come ready to play against Central on Friday, it will be a good game.

I honestly have no idea. I know of a local coach who would be a homerun hire for Cleveland. But I also know that there is a pretty impressive list of candidates. Hal Lamb from Calhoun, Antonio Bradford from TSU, and Marty Wheeler from Covington just to name a few. I think it's going to come down to whether or not they want to hire a big-time name or not.

Nah I’ve heard about 6 names who are being considered at Cleveland, and DD isn’t one of them. There are many scenarios that could take place over the next few weeks, but if Cleveland doesn’t hire someone from this area, then, yes, I’d say he will be calling defense at Sweetwater.

Has anyone in the Chattanooga area heard anything on the Cleveland job? Names, interest, applicants, etc??? I heard they formed a committee to look into candidates, but nothing else...

He is a heck of a player. He had Kile, Billingsley, Long, and Oggs all taking turns guarding him, so he had fresh legs guarding him almost the whole time. Still finished with 27 pts. Congratulations SW. Great team. Great program.

Daaaaaaaaang if it is as hostile over there as it seems, I’m not sure who would even want the job. Lol Good luck to Coach Davis, wherever he ends up. I know it’s been a rough couple of years, but I’ll never forget some of those Polk County teams from 2009-2013 — absolutely dominant in this area. Great coach, great guy.
