Last I heard Covington and Huntingdon are scrimmaging Aug 9th on the carpet. Should be a good preview as this contest has been a close hard hitting scrimmage the past couple years. I dont know if Purps royal nose can stand two trips on the magic carpet this year.

I've seen some great games there between Union City and Huntingdon. Only thing I smelled was victory or defeat!

Mustang offensive numbers are hard to argue with until we get deep enough in the play-offs to meet a team with our speed. If a team can shut down what we want to do we dont adjust very well. We ran our QB over 30 times between the tackles against Cornersville last year with little to show for it. Our offense looks simple but were masters of outnumbering you at the point of attack. I wish we would do a better job of getting our skill players the ball in space. Were very fast this year as we've been the last few years. One of our WR's finished 3rd in the state in the 100 meters at 6'3" 200lbs!

I've lost a step or two

Mustangs have a bunch of 3 year starters returning. Experienced line and deep group of skill players and a dog at quarterback. Same team that hasn't made it past the quarters the last 2 years. Main team I'm concerned about is Cornersville!

You talking bout that team south of Mckenzie that you have never beat in a play-off game!

Everyone knows he's going to play baseball for the Vols.

Hundingdons QB is a D1 baseball prospect. I think D1 in football but dont know of any offers. No other D1 prospects on the Mustang squad at this point.

Dresden won by 6. Crocket Co has a solid 2a squad. Dresdens coach is in my opinion is the best offensive coach around. Huntingdon is having growing pains with their new coach. They've never played ball like this before. Fillies have played pretty well up to the Bethel camp where they couldn't throw throw it in the ocean. Got a lot of confidence in new coach. We'll be tough by Christmas. Play a very tough schedule especially early.

Better watch out for Dresden.. Great offensive team, will surprise. Winn has developed into a good mobile post. Childress and Washburn are quality players plus the Lady Lions have some good depth this season. They dismantled a good Crocket Co team at the Bethel camp. Mckenzie looked impressive beating a good Southside squad. District 11 going to be competitive this year for the first time in a while.

They might have been a better team but no way a more talented team!

2015 Nashville Christian team has multiple D1 prospects. Heck they had multiple power 5 prospects. Wayne Co and Huntingdon both had great teams that year and they just toyed with us. Unreal talent for a 1a team. Nobody had a chance!

Yes he's committed to the Vols in baseball but wants to play both sports. Heck he's to mean to be a baseball player. Hearing rumors he may not even play QB this season. His cousin Blake Bradley is just to good to keep off the field. He's also a big time athlete in the same mold as Ensley.

Hundingdons QB Hunter Ensley is an excellent passer. Very strong arm, throws well on the run. He's approaching 220 lbs with great speed. Very determined young man that I think has SEC level talent as a safety. When a running back breaks through the line of scrimmage he better be looking for him cause he looking for you.

That 2015 NCS team may have been the most talented 1a team I've seen. Wasn't nothing fair about it. School has got to be pretty small to play 1a with the multiplier! That team had multiple D1 prospects. Can't believe they got away with it.

Mustangs lost 5 starters. Senior dominated squad. Big fast team with a big time quarterback. Hope we get to you guys this time. We just couldn't get past a great Cornersville team but then neither could yall!

I really like Childress. She's a very fast young lady.

Saw Covington yesterday and was very impressed. They have size, speed and play great defense. Beat my Fillies by 17 and we got a pretty good team.

Viewed a bit of summer ball over @ Bethel monday afternoon. Huntingdon looked good as did Trenton. Peabody did a good job penetrating the Fillie defense. They've got very good quickness. Mckenzie looked OK but we missing a couple starters. Clarksburg may surprise some folks. Pretty solid team. Bradford looked OK. South Gibson has a lot of work to do. Fillies probably looked to be the best team I saw. Girls seem to be buying in to coach Wilkins system. Reed and Swenson are elevating their game. Very talented duo.

I guess that means we're high society over here in Mustang land. HaHa! Seriously early in the season grass is great. But by playoff time the artificial stuff is much better.
