  1. I just want to voice my support for the Lady Indians of Hancock Co. This week will be a trying time for all teams, each wanting only one thing: a trip to the boro! Each team will also play their hardest and smartest. I wish you luck in each game played. The fans want win after win. YOU have to want it. Winning is up to the girls and the coach. Congratulations on getting this far. No matter how far you go in the next couple of weeks, we are behind you- your fans of Hancock County, TN We love you!!
  2. I have been noticing the message boards and not much has been said about Hancock. Co. Well, I think something needs to be said: this team is driving toward the finish line. They have what it takes and they are determined to see it through this year. The team has potential and a desire to win. Watch out! Hancock Co. is on its way!!
  3. Hancock County started with real talent. There are five seniors, all with great potential. There is heighth there, also. At first, the boys really played team ball. I thought to myself watching them play for the first time, "We are going to have a great year. These boys are playing extremely well to have a new coach and to lose the members from last year that they lost." Well, somewhere between then and now, the spark is gone, the desire is gone, and so are their hopes. They can still win games if they get their heads into this sport. They have the talent, they have the faith of their followers, but what is lacking is their heart. They need to play as if each game is their last. They need to play with their heads. The boys are making stupid mistakes that cost them big time. If they can dismiss the past games, do what they KNOW is right, they will come out a winning team. Come on, boys! We love you. You have Coach Powers. There is nothing you can do to change that. Deal with it!
  4. I just want to say "Thank You" to the players, coaches and anyone that supports the team. The girl's and boy's teams have given me immeasurable happiness and pleasure to watch them grow and strive to be their best. They are great players, as well as wonderful people. To all the seniors, I wish you much success and happiness in whatever you choose to accomplish in the many years to come. Just remember all the happy times you had with your team! For the upcoming teams of 2003-2004, Go get'em!!!! We love you all!!!!!
  5. Everyone here in Hancock County are proud of the girl's basketball team!! Coach Ramsey has taken the girls farther in playoffs than they have gone in some time!! Congratulations on achieving all you have, girls!! Kim, I know your future will be bright because you are such an outstanding person!! Harriman, you played a good game- Good luck at the Boro!!!!
  6. Shaniaguy! You are the official scorekeeper? You sure do talk to be the "official" anything! You do not help Cosby's image at all!! [Edited by bluealltheway on 3-10-03 11:11A]
  7. This is a very important game for the teams of Cosby and Hancock County. The boys and coaches have worked extremely hard since summer of last year. The players know this is a deciding game and that one team moves on and the season ends for the other. We, the fans, need to keep in mind that this sport of basketball, is a school program and that we need to conduct ourselves in a sportsmanship way. There are those out there that give BOTH teams a bad image. For those, I am ashamed. Why does our basketball program have to be surrounded with such ill manners? Can't the game just be played and the outcome be decided by the players on the court? I support my team fully, and will stand beside them no matter what the score is when the buzzer rings for the final time on Monday night. I was at the game 2 years ago when Hancock hosted Cosby in sub-state. I know fans were seated inside the gym to the point I thought it may have influenced the way the boys played. I hope tomorrow night's game will be played fairly and that the fans of both teams accept the outcome for what it is. Go Indians!!!
  8. Kev, you're right on the money!! Bradley talked trash to more than Rocky on the Hancock team. Hancock had not played them this year until then, and I think Bradley talked garbage to get HCHS messed up in the head!! We had only one meeting with UH and they won the game, but that doesn't make them the better team!!
  9. Can't remember exact scores' but HANCOCK won both their games
  10. Anyone have the scores for the Unaka/Jellico games at Milligan tonight? Anxious to hear!!
  11. What about Rocky Nichols from Hancock County? He deserves to be considered!! [Edited by bluealltheway on 2-24-03 11:06A]
  12. Hancock County's senior Rocky Nichols should be nominated for class A Mr. Basketball, he will get his 2000th point this week.
  13. I did see the the game and Cosby is a good team, but the road to state is filled with potholes. The Indians are a determined tribe, and they have alot of heart!! Keep watching!!!!
  14. Hancock County-all the way to state!!! Just watch!!!
  15. I also think the game between Hancock and Cosby will be a good game, but I believe the INDIANS will come out with the win. The INDIANS will probably pluck a few EAGLE feathers for their WAR BONNETS!!!!!!
  16. Congradulations HANCOCK on the win Tuesday night. Keep it up INDIANS!
  17. If the head coach has no hair, that is exactly who I am referring to! I hate it happened no matter who or which team the remarks were directed at, but it DID happen! There was no reason for it to be a fabrication. Never has it happened before to the Indians. I only hope it never happens again; not to ANY opposing team of the Falcons. That is the sort of thing that can really hurt the image of the WHOLE basketball team, or basketball in general!
  18. My apologies! I was referring to the head coach calling a player, which was standing in back court, a red-necked s.o.b. Not just hear-say, but actual happenings. I'm sure everyone on the Volunteer staff do not feel that way. All schools have students that attend their school simply because that is the location of their home. They do not have a choice. They are all children, in all sizes of bodies. They like sports and participate just for the love of the game. Aren't all kids that way? Why would he let his temper get the best of him? Does he do it to every opponet?
  19. How,s it feel volunteer to play against a powerful single A team like Hancock County? What's worse is the attitude toward the Hancock County players from the host team's coach!! Talk about a sore loser!!!!! Hancock is just out there playing the game and playing to win, and Volunteer has a coaching staff that should be good examples for their team, but instead are teaching name calling and slander. Our team was glad to participate in the tournament, but our opinion of the coaching staff of Volunteer went to rock bottom by the time the games were over.
  20. Congradulations Hancock Indians on the win over Rutledge. The Pioneers played a good game but not quiet good enough.Good luck in tomorrow's game with Rhea county.
  21. I, too was at the games in Morristown, and if you were osubrutus, you would have noticed a different atmosphere with the team. A fan who got carried away with the game had no impact on how the Indians played. Well done, Indians. Keep the fire hot!!!
  22. Well, Kev-did you see Hancock play tonight against West? I think Nichols got alittle more help; different line-up! What do you think? As for the fan who caused the disturbance in the stands on Friday night, no connection between him and the others.
  23. Of all the places I have been to following high school basketball, I have never seen more devoted and loyal fans, than the Hancock County Indian fans! They follow wherever the Inidans set up camp. Not just family, but FANS!!!! And being so passoniate about the game, it is hard when a game is officiated badly and sit quietly in the stands, whether it be for the losing side or the winning side. There are times when emotions get out of hand in any circumstance, not just sports. For those that can control them, I appaud you; for those that can't, I understand!
