  1. Let’s get this started: South Greene: 12-0 453-155 0 Covid Wins Opponents 46-76 Meigs County: 12-0 435-115 2 Covid Wins Opponents 53-75 Meigs has not lost a home game since 11-17-2017. Info from coacht scoreboard.
  2. Meigs vs Region 1 last 3 years. 46-7. 38-6. 48-7. 42-13. 41-6. 39-7. 254-46. Avg 42-7 now we’ve not played Hampton or Cosby but if history is an indicator??
  3. Been watching Meigs for a few decades. If one thing holds true it’s this... I’ve been to S Pitt, Trousdale, Greenback, Marion, Sweetwater (when they were GOOD), and so many others but when the lights come on at Meigs County we have a home field advantage that rivals anybody. You see that’s where the fog comes over the graveyard and the souls of all Meigs players who’ve gone stand and cheer. It’s where the pauper and the rich, the preacher and the wino stand together, it’s where blankets are out on Thursday (new phenomenon) and the cowbells ring loudly, it’s where the hero’s of yesterday are still hero’s and the principal and superintendent don’t miss a game. It’s where Friday night lights and Saturday morning news clippings are still a thing. AND Hampton it’s where your season ends 34-7
  4. What “very good” teams have you beaten? Just wondering
  5. First sir, you must not understand woodshed but after Friday you will. Peabody beat us, they out gained us but to my recollection with less than 3-4 minutes left it was less than a TD. Now, I wouldn’t call us arrogant, confident yes, cocky maybe but not— o never mind arrogant yes. When and IF you ever have a 59-6 streak you can be arrogant. Numbers from coacht scoreboard not projections
  6. I don’t believe Meigs overlooks Hampton, South Greene, Rockwood or anyone else. If you look at what we’ve done for several years we’ve not overlooked anyone that’s why you only see us getting beat by quality teams. And for the record hats off to Trousdale. When they beat us there were no excuses and plenty of compliments. When we beat them nothing but the same. Class
  7. Wife told me to stay off the T but she’s at the store so... that big boy was a load and I’ve seen him run over several Meigs players but was he in on the 16 for Meigs? And is he playing for Pee body this year? I do like the past, I can relive the UT natty but doesn’t make this year any better.
  8. Nice try... you didn’t play anybody as good as Meigs last year and you won’t this year unless TC or Watertown beats Meigs. That Baugus was injured is Bogus. Peabody was good last year, deserved to win but let’s not discredit Meigs. It was not throwing that got Meigs 16 points and it wasn’t throwing that got Peabody 3 TDs. Last TD was a gimme by the way. I WILL NOT DENY PEABODY WAS BEST TEAM IN THE STATE. But let’s not demean Meigs county. By the way would Pee body not mean wet diaper
  9. Now I can tell you about a chasing a champion ship. Had a captain named Stubing, a porter named Gopher and a little hottie named Julie. I was the guy who cut up the fruit at the bar. Great job it was.
  10. My first time starting a thread. Hampton’s been calling out Tigers for several years. Be careful what you wish for re:95
  11. Baugus 8 carries 51 yds 2 TD 7-16 76 yds 2 INTs Dickson 22 carries 156 yds 1 TD. 4 solo 3 Asst So by your thoughts Dickson should have been Mr Football. OR do we go by regular season stats OR do we give it to best player OR is this an award voted on by media? This years mr football shouldn’t be awarded off last years game. and according to Meigs stat guy who I’ve know from his days at the bank before he became such a golf pro and had 3 rings, stats didn’t win it last year
  12. Reminds me of when my daughter was in a pageant. Everybody told her how pretty she was but she got beat; her shoes weren’t right, her dress wasn’t the nicest, we didn’t fix her hair. Well truth was she just wasn’t that pretty, but she did have a nice personality. Rhea is 5A and been talking for years about difference in classes. Not a MC fan but there sure is a big difference in class.
  13. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“. when tragedy happens you see the true character of people. You also realize that what some want to do to our country would stop these great gestures of prayer. I can’t fathom how I would, or many others would endure these hardships if these outpourings of love were silenced and our religious gatherings were ceased. My heart is heavy but my spirit has been uplifted knowing there is a tomorrow for us all if we believe. Thank you TN for being a praying state led by tremendous men and women.
  14. Nope. Just figured our girl athletes could beat summertowns football team. I’m proud of our team, most of our girls play basketball & softball plus picking up volleyball. We didn’t serve underhand or just show up for fun. We came to play and we are humble enough to realize we need to keep working. But, the difference is we will keep having our girls play several sports, keep enjoying watching them play and keep supporting our players and our coaches. In the meantime I’m sure summertown will get a trophy, but we’ll be deep in football playoffs, girls basketball playoffs, and softball playoffs. Our kids will keep succeeding and we’ll keep saying it’s great to be from Meigs County.
  15. Watched on nfhs and looked like summertown was really good. But I guess it was like when we beat summertown so bad in softball on our way to 3 rings. I got it summertowns good at volleyball. Check out our other sports plus we’ve Only had a team 3 years. We don’t like losing and we don’t do it much. Let’s play basketball, softball, volleyball and do u have a football team and let’s see who’s just playing for fun. You will collect lots of participation trophies.
  16. I tell you what’s hard to believe... I had a good friend who was in prison and the officers (used to call them guards) wanted to play a football game against the inmates (used to call them cons). Whew that was a game- my wife was a cheerleader at that game. In the end those cons won the game on a great play. Years later they tried to play that game again but even though the cons had a couple of good players, the game just wasn’t the same and nobody got a broke freakin neck.
  17. I taped the game and watched it this morning. Looked like SP had a midol commercial going on. Reminds me of a wedding i was in years ago. Bride had some issues with cramps and they medicated her a little too much. Whole place looked like a bottle of pepto but my cousin L Duck D had a great time visiting. As for them mighty Tigers it like this and only this. Better talent than anybody they’ve played in last few years EXCEPT PEABODY. Now back to the game again. My tapes finished rewinding. Got some family coming over so I have to unplug the microwave because it causes my cousin some issues.
  18. Picking Tigers in a mild upset. Speaking of upset I remember a time when me and my best friend drove a scooter to aspen to return a brief case to a lady. I went to visit and whew my stomach got to churning and had to get to a restroom BAD. Now that was upset
  19. Love Homecoming. I remember when I was in school our star linebackers car got destroyed by the visiting team and whew did he have a great game. Good thing was his friends dad had a great set of tools to fix it.
  20. I was hoping this game was at S Pitt. I haven’t seen a Pirate Ship since the time my boys went on an adventure and saw a Pirate ship sailing away.
  21. Hate that I missed this slobber knocker. Had to take family on mini vacation. Drove car around and saw BiGBen, Parliament, Big Ben, Parliament, Big Ben and Parliament. Fun times. But I think my next family vacation will be A vegas Vacation.
  22. Wooo. A coach being in a good mood. Reminds me of when I was coaching this kid in golf, he had a huge putt that seemed to come a little short but then the groundskeeper blew something up and it jarred the ball causing it to go in. Now that was a good mood coaching.
  23. Two points I like here. Rivalry reminds of the rivalry between me and that policeman when I was carrying that load from Texarkana. Boy we had a good run. He wasn’t as tough when we were carrying that elephant.
  24. Marion cancelled? That’s like the time I took my kids across country and amusement park was closed.
  25. You could afford it if you didn’t buy all that central stuff. I mean who needs a McMinn Central Fez with a propeller on top.
