  1. Nobody is saying he's God. Blackman had more talent than Oakland in 2015 and 2017, and Oakland dominated them both years. It wasn't until 2019 when Blackman's talent started going down hill. To be 6 years in and have NEVER lost to Blackman and Riverdale is undeniably impressive.
  2. Nobody is debating Creasy is better than GQ. GQ is the best coach in the history of the state. Creasy is a better coach than McDaniel, and it really can't be argued. Outside of the fact he has dominated Blackman and Riverdlale while McDaniel went 500 against them; he also relates to players better and he's better schematically. Steven Jackson is obviously a great coach, and they have some really experienced position coaches.
  3. Didn't think there could have been a better response to Boo than mine, but you nailed it!
  4. McDaniel had very similar talent. In 2014 I think almost the entire defense went on to play college ball. When McDaniel was there, he was abut 500 against Blackman and Riverdale. Creasy has made Oakland a true monopoly in Rutherford County.I can't really speak to the recruiting if I don't have evidence. There's always allegations out there. There was when McDaniel was the coach also. Yes, there are many great coaches out there that don't have the talent of Oakland. In my county, I think of schools like Brentwood, Independence, and Franklin. All three of those coaching staffs do a great job with less talent. Ron Crawford and Scott Blade would have similar success with that talent, because they are great coaches. We can say the same thing in college football about Nick Saban. People don't hold the fact that he has great talent against him. He does a great job of program building and developing players. Two things can be true. You can have great players and be a great coach.
  5. I start with the fact that he's been there 6 years hasn't lost a game to a Rutherford county opponent yet. He has also never lost to a Tennessee team outside of Maryville. 3 state Championships at Trousdale and they haven't won one since he has been gone. I would say that is pretty great. Yes, he's had great talent, but coaching and program development plays a major role in that. I also disagree with you saying his scheme is very simple. I have a coaching friend in Williamson county who says his scheme is one of the hardest to prepare for. He uses more formations than anyone, and really uses 3 schemes: Wing T, Pro I, and Spread. That's my opinion.
  6. He had some success, but ultimately, discipline kept Ravenwood from reaching their full potential. No way that 2019 team should have gotten blown out by Maryville, and no way should they have lost to Franklin this past year. Got out coached in both games, and discipline was a major problem.
  7. McDaniel: Good to very Good Creasy: Great
  8. Stock has gone down now that he doesn't have as much talent as he was used to having.
  9. He will at least be better scheme wise than Kit
  10. Pros: He's very good when it comes to x's and o's and very Innovative. He's also very good at getting players and fans excited. Cons: Discipline. His North Jackson teams were VERY undisciplined which is perhaps why his record there wasn't very good. If he brings Matt Daniels and other Ravenwood coaches with him, you can expect to have one of the most undisciplined teams in the state. Empowering players can be good, but it can also be a Hughe negative.
  11. With all to respect, this is not an accurate description of the Franklin High School zone. Franklin High School consists of mostly upper class white kids. There are very few "blue collar" kids and even middle class kids. There is some talent, but nothing like Murfreesboro or even some of the other schools in Williamson County. Your description sounds more like Summit or Independence.
  12. He definitely stepped down on his own terms. I wish him well as he looks to spend more time with his family.
  13. Leaving Blackman for Mt Pleasant? He must be being forced out.
  14. You have to give him credit for how he drastically changed the culture at Ravenwood. Yes, he had some dudes, but part of that is because of him. Also, he did improve Florence from what they were before him.
  15. Daniels is a good coach. However, he was perhaps unaware of many things happening in his program.
  16. I don't believe the first part because he is very much regarded as a players coach. I do believe you are right about the "other things"
  17. Very well said. The best region and definitely the best COACHED region
  18. In the 1st Q I was thinking there is no way Peabody OL is blocking that Milan DL. As the game progressed, they were able to in large part because the Milan D got tired because they were on the field forever because of their offense couldn't sustain drives. Looks like Milan also has a very tough schedule ahead.
  19. Saw the game streamed. Milan looked like the far more talented team as far as the looks test. Peabody didn't look like they have the athletes they had last year, but still won convincingly. Great coaching and program building.
  20. This late in the game, no-brainer but to hire within.
  21. Yes, but he had to work really hard to get him hired from what I have heard.
  22. The assistant football coaching pay does suck, but the teacher pay is good. This does suck for Coleman, because it can be difficult to get assistant coaches hired in Williamson County because of the focus on academics.
  23. Movie theaters are about to open up, so you are wrong on that. Obviously, you either don't know about the economic impact no football would cause or you simply don't care. For example, if we don't have a football season, everyone who works for the T$$AA will most likely be out of a job. Most people are more likely to die in a car crash, than die from COVID 19. Should we ban people driving??? That would technically save lives.
