  1. You are correct. Ridiculous regulations for schools.
  2. This is great news but what does everyone think is going to happen when kids start testing positive on a football team. Are they going to quarantine the entire team for 14 days. Kids are going to get it, coaches are going to get it, and teachers are going to get it and the whole thing could shut down before it even gets started when you have the first death. I hate to be negative Nancy here but that is the hysteria tied to this pandemic.
  3. There have been 12.3 million worldwide confirmed COVID cases (confirmed key word here). 3.1 million in US. The WHO estimates 1 billion people worldwide get the flu each year and CDC estimated for Oct 1 to April there were 39 to 56 million flu cases in US. 555,486 worldwide COVID deaths and 133k US deaths. WHO estimates that 290,000 to 650,000 flu deaths worldwide and CDC estimates that 24,000 to 62,000 US deaths from Oct to April.
  4. What’s the benefit of flipping the football season to spring when the disease is still going to be around.
  5. haha. recruitment is hard in these small rural towns when there are 2 other high schools in the county. Goodyear closed in early 2011
  6. Everyone does realize when Goodyear in Union City closed correct
  7. UC Fairley total off. 268. 303 rush att/yards. 55-235. 23-164 comp-att-int. 1-5-1. 3-5-1 pass yds. 33. 139 first downs. 16. 7 zero fumbles both teams penalties-yds. 5-48. 12-95
  8. I’ll chime in too since I’ve seen both teams play now. Fairley is gifted athletically but so is Peabody. Fairley does fly to the football and lays the lumber when they do. Peabody will have better team defense though. Peabody defensive line will beat Fairley offensive line most of night. I think our offensive line did a good job for the most part with the line of scrimmage battle against their defensive line so I think Peabody fine on the upfront battle. The Wilkins kid is better than Dickson In the open field but Dickson much tougher runner in my opinion and Peabody has another one they can throw in there when need be. Peabody wins running back battle. Peabody has the better field general too. Two senior heavy teams so lots of experience out there. Peabody receivers run better routes and are just as fast as Fairley. Peabody will be much more disciplined and this will be the ace in the hole. Close first half. But Peabody wins big in second half with a lot more horses in the stable and the half time adjustments they will make.
  9. Fairley was a very athletically gifted team last year just not as disciplined as UC. We recovered two fumbles as well and scored on those possessions. I’m sure they have fixed lots of that but we shall see. They got a heavy dose of our fullback last year and this years fullback is almost at 2000 yards so here comes the train again. Should be a fun one.
  10. Watched a little film on Douglas and the two weeks off just aren’t going to be enough. These UC boys will dominate the line of scrimmage and if they hold on to the football they win by 3 touchdowns. Go Tornadoes
  11. Thanks. Hope for a region 7 sweep next week. Good luck to all the slobber knockers
  12. I believe if UC beats Halls and Peabody beats Gibson Co these two teams are playing for 3rd place. So you could be traveling to Memphis for the first round.
  13. Man you are correct about our region. Mckenzie has a good football team too. That QB is going to be the real deal. Big up front too. We just played our game and didn’t have a lot of mistakes. Long physical drives
  14. We did win state in 2017 made it to quarterfinals last year so still one of best programs in west TN. Peabody is phenomenal right now. Smaller schools definitely go through cycles. Right now we are a little down but still going to compete hard every Friday night. Our FB did go for 188 yards last night against the best D we’ve played all year. I think they’ve only had 14 points scored on them all year. Their O is unstoppable.
  15. No one this year will stop that offense. They are that good.
  16. I think The Adamsville team we saw at UC can possibly beat Gibson Co.
  17. The most I can recall on the sideline at UC in recent years is the 2014 season when it was almost a guarantee we were going to win another championship. That year I think there was right at 50 on the team. I’m like Swo there are several that have played in the past and they don’t play anymore. It’s a tough program and this sport isn’t for everyone. You all know you can’t be half way in to play this one. It’s all or none and not many kids these days are that dedicated.
  18. We scrimmaged Westview and played LC. I say LC by 14 and they keep them from scoring over 21.
  19. Good luck to you all as well. We hope to see you again in the playoffs.
  20. The simplistic math equation is exactly my point. You have to think about probability theory and statistics and you can not just minus 3 TDS to get the answer. Let us just simplify it and think about possession time probability. If UC doesn’t lose 7 fumbles probability theory tells me UC possession time goes up not down. High probability that 500 yards and 35 points goes up and 350 yards 41 points goes down. Again GC won the turnover battle which is part of the game. We lost fair and square.
  21. You’re exactly correct Peabody. On to the next game. This one is over and yes sir we have got lots of work to do. I’m confident Bowling is on it too
  22. Who’s screaming excuses. We fumbled 12 times. That’s on us. Not sure I understand your math logic up there either.
  23. 12 fumbles lost 7. 3 of those 7 were scoop and scores. Back breakers for our boys. Lots of short fields. We had 5 penalties for 35 yards and they had 4 for around 50 yards. The two biggest ones against UC were the first play ineligible man down field (very questionable but it got called) and a pass interference call that would have given UC the football back. I felt after our 21-14 lead we had them on their heels but then the fumbles kept coming and GC never quit or gave in. Hats off to them for that effort.
