I am pulling for Gordonsville myself but I think Prep has one of the most talented teams in 1A. Talented but lack discipline and good coaching. They have a huge line and talent / Speed on both the offense and defense. They also have a kicker that can make 45 to 50 yards field goals. Believe this will be a one score game either way.

Since they put a target on their backs stating that they are the team to beat, I hope the Pirates Oblige them Friday night at the Beene.

Pirates are a very young group of young men so I am keeping my expectations lower than I have in quiet some time. They are smaller up from than we have seen in a very long time. They do have some young talent scattered all over the field that Should and I believe Will improve as they get more experience. The QB seems to be out best offensive weapon with #4 then #3 as our next two. To me 6-4 would be a long shot this season. I hope they prove me wrong. Go Pirates!

I am interested in seeing how much they progress in year two under Fitz myself. I do believe they will improve but how much will be the question.

South Pittsburg has filled its last open spot for the upcoming season.They have penciled in Division II AA Davidson Academy for a home game.They are a Six Time State Championship Program.

No way Gordonsville could even compete against McKenzie much less defeat them.SP will have to play a near Perfect game to beat McKenzie which I don't see happening myself.

I agree with the running clock statement.I hate that it keeps the younger kids from getting as much playing time on the Big stage on Friday nights.I also think the fans (especially the parents) deserve their ticket money's worth of football.I know the stands usually start thinning out at halftime when we are up by 30 or more but most loyal fans stay for nearly the entire game.

Barring 30 penalties Thursday night Pirates will win BIG!

Nearly every penalty was legit from my vantage point.Both teams played very undisciplined, especially in the first half.Coach better get this straightened out before the playoffs.We should have a great chance at getting to Finley but will never beat the winner of the West playing this way.All the talent we have but can't line up right or stay onsides.Not to mention all the holding and penalties away from the play they keep committing over and over this season.

I also believe they are a up and coming program that will be very competitive in the near future.We need several in our Region to improve to give us some serious competition.Hopefully Sale Creek will continue to improve also.
