I watched that Gfield and Dresden game and it was a dandy( went to OT). That region is really down this year. We play Dresden this week so we will see how good they are

McKenzie should move down but I am wondering how McKenzie fans and the administration feel about this. We have played pretty well in 2A over the years and moving down to 1A to play the Dresden's and Greenfields instead of Peabody and UC wouldn't be very appealing. Huntingdon should move up to 2A and i think they will do well. Boy it would nice to see a Huntingdon/Peabody matchup every year.

game is at UC and its next week. Very important game for us. We have always played well at their house though. I like our chances.

Greenfield has a great challenge in replacing two of the best players to ever play for GHS. I think Greenfield will be fine this year but the question is, can they develop their bench this year? I really liked the play of Biggs last year, she is undersized and plays much bigger than she is. Union City will be the team to beat and it will be fun to watch UC and the jackets battle it out for first. Also yall made a great hire this offseason... Coach Tori is a great person!

They will be quicker than most teams and will beat you to the spot. I agree on post play. Reese Biggs has played in the forward spot since her freshman year but she will have to play in the post this time around. She is a proven defender but the question is, can she rebound the ball well enough at that position?

A lot of new faces for nearly every team in West Tennessee (except for UC). It will be interesting to see how the season will go On a side note, I saw a highlight video of Edie Darby from a tournament this past weekend and I think she got 5 times better. Man does that girl have some moves and a lethal step back!

Don't think Dresden got a chance but hope this game is close. Glad both coaches still want to play this rivalry game. Think it will be a two score game at half and the Rebels will pull away in the second half.

Greenfield at #6 is way too high! They haven't even played anyone that is decent. Their best win is against a average Dresden team In OT.

Usj is a really good team. They look great! Too many mistakes for the Rebels in the first half... still enough time to turn it around.

Yes he is a freshmen this year and can ball too. The family is a pretty good basketball family. The oldest sister is at Dyersburg state and she is racking up some offers rn from D1 and D2 schools. I have seen the sophomore play and she is good. She has great size and is a great shooter. This is a great pickup for the Fillies.

This is so wrong... it should be held up to each individual school to make that decision. Dresden's first game is tomorrow and all the other schools in the county have already played two games. This is ridiculous. I live in Weakley County and had no idea this was happening.. Thank you.

Peabody folks..... Will y'all stream the game on Facebook like you have with your first two games? If so that is wonderful that your games are live on Facebook, as it brings exposure to your program and gives a chance for folks to watch that cant make it.

McKenzie is working hard to get in shape with some tough conditioning happening now and up until the season starts. Wilkins flat out told the girls... the reason why yall couldn't get over the hump last year is because everybody wasn't in game shape. McKenzie should be a whole different ball team this year watch out District 11 and region 6.

I haven't heard anyone from HC transfer to Huntingdon but I will ask my sources. I know Henry county had one girl compete in the best of the best showcase that went on this past weekend and they do have some young talent. The issue for Huntingdon this time around is they don't have the leadership at point guard with Fuller and they don't have the post/ defense Stallworth like Adyn Swenson or Tyasia Reed. Those three players were experienced and were great ball players. Huntingdon does have Williams, Butler and Addison returning though. I think the Fillies will have growing pains early, but they should get it all sorted out come tournament time.

I agree but scoring 31 points on Huntingdon is hard to do as well.. We have a run and passing game that is tough to stop too.

McKenzie has a lot of momentum and confidence after beating Huntingdon for the first time in forever lol. The Rebels will be a tough out and they will be ready to play on Friday. I think my Rebels hang around for 3 quarters and the Golden tide eventually pull away in the 4th. I am thinking 42 to 28.

District 11: West Carroll, McKenzie, Huntingdon, Bruceton District 11: IDK prolly Loretto will be 1 Region championship Loretto vs McKenzie with Loretto winning.

In district 13: 1. Union city 2. Greenfield 3. Bradford 4. Gleason In district 14: 1. GC 2. Peabody The battle for first is going to be a fun one in 13A. When you have Jada Williams and Amari Bonds on the same team, that's very tough to beat. Greenfield made the right hire promoting their middle coach, but what players will step up to help Edie Darby offensively? Bradford lost a great shooter but in Avery but I don't think they have enough depth to make a step up in the district. Region UC vs GC with Gibson County winning.

District 11: McKenzie, Huntingdon then West carroll District 12; Loreto, Summertown

They will definitely play more up tempo and try to turn teams over. We should be able to beat a press now as well

Black hair? That is whitley Smith.. she tore her acl and didn't play at all this past season. She got a couple of offers to play at NAIA schools and local community colleges but her leg is still bothering her. She was a very effective player on the offensive and defensive ends. Whitley will definitely be missed.

McKenzie has three starters returning including Lilly Bennett who should have a breakout year. Lilly has shown spurts of stardom but is a pass first player and wants to get other players opportunities to score. She has to become a more assertive player on offense for us to be a better team. GC had some growing pains early last year but I think they will be fine and should have a great year this year.

Peabody should be better as they matured and got better as the season progressed. I know they certainly improved especially after McKenzie played them 3 times last year. They have a great coach in Micheal Hart. For Union City I think this is their best chance to make some noise since Jada Williams is a senior. Bonds has the ability to become a phenomenal player in our area and she certainly grabbed the fans attention with her fantastic play last year. Rn GC is the team to beat especially with the younger hart who is an 8th grader coming in. Competition wise will not be as good as Dresden Greenfield Huntingdon, and Gleason loses their main players but I think some other teams will step up to the challenge. McKenzie will be a different story with 8th grader Savannah Davis (plays like Tess Darby) joining and better conditioning. Bradford should be better with Walter improved and is the Avery girl a senior? West Carroll should also be improved despite losing the Cunningham twins.
