  1. Are you doing just D1 or everything? Sam Hutchinson from Halls is committed to UNC Pembroke
  2. It'll be fun to watch regardless. With PF moving back to region 2 they won't see each other until state duals. They're in different sectionals now. Honestly I'm not sure who that helps more. SM and SD are going to rule that sectional. Sectional 1 will be PF and either Gibbs/AC/Greeneville/Crockett. Jackson Davis for SM is the likely 175lb for them. I think he could do well against whoever PF has at that weight. Either Howard or Dylan Jackson. It would be a fun match. He's sneaky good on bottom. I do think PF gets by SM but it won't be a blowout. I think PF takes the top 3 weights. Hood and Perez will be the difference for PF IMO.
  3. This list also uses last year's weight classes.
  4. Let's not forget they did this to the basketball coach too. Parents complained on that guy and got him fired. He had a great record and his kids had great grades but a few entitled parents weren't happy. So now they've done it to the football coach too? That place is a dumpster fire now. Good luck getting an established coach to come there. I predict they'll be wandering in the wilderness with sub .500 teams in many sports for many years. Of course the parents who caused this will be long gone.
  5. This was a well run event. We had fun in a no pressure environment and got some experience. Great job. We're going to try and bring more next year!
  6. We're sending some for the first time. Looking forward to it.
  7. The thread that just keeps on giving. Fans like this are the reason people root against your team/ program.
  8. I bet you're having fun with this thread then. (I'm in agreement with you btw) I know I have, just watching from the noise bleed section.
  9. Good stuff Ocean. It's going to be a fun season. AC got Gibbs pretty good last year in a dual with full varsity line ups. Gibbs lost a few hammers last year. The Finstad kid will be really good. Brody Ford will be good. Allen will help them out too. They have some decent kids at the 3 upper weights but I think AC gets them again. AC has had a few kids put in work this off season. No one is super talented but they are experienced and solid. The biggest thing is staying healthy. I'm most excited to see the 190 and 175 from AC and DC go at it. AC lost a decent hwt, a really good 132 and a pretty good 113lb kid to graduation. They won't be as good at those weights this year but will be better most everywhere else. Still don't think they have anything for PF though.
  10. Who do you see coming out of that region as the top 2 teams then? I was thinking Crocket at least has a full roster of experienced kids. Same for Tennessee high. Greeneville will be good, great even, at some weights, but will they be giving up any forfeits? Hard to win duals like that.
  11. Thing about 175lbs this year is who is going to cut from last years 182lbs? Who is moving up? We saw Davis wrestle a month ago at 182lbs. He's sneaky good from bottom position. James was at FS state and he might make 177lbs but he's a big kid. The big 182lbs from last year likely go 190lbs this year and many of the 195lbs will cut another 5 to make 190lbs. That weight class should be more crowded this year. Region 2 is pretty strong with PF, AC, Gibbs and Seymour. That sectional between them and region 1 with Crockett, Greeneville, Tennessee is going to be entertaining. Region 4 has SM and SD making it tough on everyone. Team wise, I think it's Soddys year and is not close. SD . PF . . . . . Everyone else
  12. I'd definitely have Chrisman from Greeneville up there at 215. 165 Cole Darnell from Eagleton should be in the mix. 150lbs I thought Elijah Turner for SD wrestled 160lbs last year. You think he'll drop that much? Either way, he'll be in the top 3 whatever weight he winds up. 144lbs Ayden Hood from PF is going to be in the mix. It's fun to play around with it and get a discussion going but there are so many things that will change. Tullahoma should surprise some people too.
  13. That's good that they can do that then. Not gonna lie though, kinda bummed out though. We could have legally transferred a couple years ago. I've been in favor of kids going where it's best for them for a long time. Early on in this thread even. I just didn't understand that portion of the rule. I thought it was any coaching connection. (And was told so). We're not in a bad position by any means, just could have been at a place with high expectations, standards and the ability to level up quicker.
  14. Good stuff. I'm going to reach out to TSSAA for clarification. I actually hope you're correct. Im in favor of letting kids transfer.
  15. I don't really care, let kids go where they want. But coaching a kid for an off-season tournament (Fargo) counts as a "coaching connection" by any standard. Are you saying that a kid can go to club wrestling ran by another schools coach and transfer there without sitting a year. That's what you're saying? The coaches don't know what they're talking about I guess.
  16. From the rule book... If a student with an athletic record transfers to a new school where an “athletic coaching link” existed in the past 12 months, that student is ineligible for 12 months past their first date of enrollment at the new school at all levels in the specific sports where a linkage was present. Links may include (1) attendance at an individual camp (and then transferring); (2) playing on non-school (independent) teams (and then transferring to that coach’s school); (3) transferring into a school where a former coach has been hired; and (4) transferring to a school where a former or current personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach is employed. This rule does not apply if the student moves to his/her new schools after completion of the highest ending grade at his/her previous school. If the ineligible transfer student has an athletic record for the previous or current school year in any TSSAA sanctioned sport, the student will be ineligible to participate in the sport(s) in which an athletic record has been established.
  17. I know a lot of these kids. I love em, they've been at my house over the years. But, AC is always just a couple injuries away from being 5-5 every year. Look at year before last. Injury bug is already taking a toll this year. If they can stay healthy and get some guys back and improve, maybe they can do pretty good. The cupboard isn't bare, they have some players. Just not as many as last year.
  18. TSSAA has a coaching connection rule. If a student goes to a mini camp or summer league event or is coached by another coach in the off season, that constitutes a connection. According to the rule, student is required to sit out a year. We wanted to transfer schools until we found this rule. Our kid was enrolled at school A with an athletic record. Kid does off-season/club stuff with school B. Wanted to transfer to school B but would have to sit out a year. We were willing to sell our house and move. In the end, the coach at school B, as much as he would have liked to have our kid (at a weight that he could have helped a lot) told us to stay at A. First class guy who plays by the rules.
  19. Mavs win this one but the only thing they're marching towards is a 2nd or 3rd round exit. IMO
  20. I think kids should be able to transfer and play with very few restrictions. If a kid goes to a camp and connects with that coach, and it's a benefit for the kid, let them play for that coach.
  21. Sorry Noonesfool. I got to talking and I had put my phone away during the brief rain. SH isn't a bad team, they've got some players. AC had thier chances to win. The qb for SH had a really nice throw to the outside on a roll out to his right. It was as pretty of an executed play as I've seen and it kept the drive alive for a score. The defense had really good coverage on that play. Overall both teams have some clean up to do. AC may go 5-5 this year.
  22. That drive was all LaRue. He takes it in from the 4. EP no good. AC 23 SH 20
  23. Waylon LaRue takes it 60 yards and is caught from behind at the SH 10. Some AC players are starting to get cramps. Light rain and wind. Temp has dropped several degrees.
  24. AC defensive formation is selling out to stop the run and it's generally been effective. But if they break that first level, they're gone. SH does just that and breaks off a 52 yd run. Extra point no good. SH 20 AC 17
