We missed Quinn tonight. She is our best defensive player plus we needed that depth due to foul trouble. #10 for Northview is a good ball player.

Everyone seems to be mentioning the refs and they potentially impacted the outcome. No one is mentioning the fact that Dburg lost a double figure scoring starter who is arguably their best defender. Don’t think that impacted Dburg??

When I see the score of the Dburg/Millington game and especially the score of the SGC/Munford game I question how does that happen. We have a game in the sub-state where a team only scores 6 points total. I'm sure there were games like that all over the state, but these are the games & teams I'm familiar with. How are substate games so noncompetitive?

You are spot on with the play lately, especially the guard play. They are playing their best ball right now and could be a tough out on any given night. The second half of the region semifinal against Haywood is arguably the best half they have played all year. Consistency has been the issue all year though. They will absolutely need to get more production from the big kid to be a threat though.

This is very accurate... The big kid at Dburg has never been super above the rim athletic, but he was more athletic the previous 3 years than this year. He is a football kid now that has been working out to gear up to play football at the next level. The kid has signed with an SEC school to play football next season. He is alot more heavier than he has been the previous 3 years and that has hampered his mobility, agility, and cardio on the court IMO.

Well said and I agree completely! I know her personally and she is a tireless worker and loves the game. She will be successful no matter where she's at.

No sir it's not. In fact, I predict that District 13AAA will sweep tonight in the region first round setting up semifinal matchups of Dburg vs CC & SGC vs DC. I also predict that the 2 of these 4 teams that wins their region semifinal matchup will make it to state. All I'm saying is based on those semifinal matchups, who has the tougher matchup based off the eye test?

I hope you're right. I believe SGC's path is easier though despite them losing last night.

IMO, the Dyersburg over South Gibson upset is only an upset due to seeding. That's not taking anything away from S.Gibson because they are solid, but Dyersburg has a trio (Ward, Cobb, Turnage) that if they get it going and stay out of foul trouble on any given night could be a tough out. They're just not consistent and have nights that they make bad decisions and have terrible shot selection.

Absolutely! I'm not implying that either team should tank, but just pointing out that runnerup in this situation may not be all bad. Dburg and S.Gibson are clearly the two best teams in this district and region, but a bad shooting night could spell trouble against Crockett. Dburg experienced that in the regular season already. All that said, I FULLY expect both Dburg and S Gibson to come out trying to capture the District Tourney Crown.

Call me crazy, but it appears that the runnerup in dist 13 may have an easier route to substate than the champ. Crockett is likely to finish third in dist 13 so they would be on the same side as dist 13 #1. Looks like Crockett may be the only team in Region 7 to challenge Dburg or South Gibson. Whats your thoughts?

Playing all the semi games (both girls and boys) on Saturday makes the most sense. Start at about 2pm with the girls and schedule 2 & 3:30, then clear the gym between 5-6 and start boys at 6 & 7:30.

I feel the exact same way in Dyersburg!

I don't think Dburg would get two finalist, but Jordan is a very good and deserving player that gets overshadowed, in a good way, by Crawford. Next season may be her turn.

This^^^ It's not about going undefeated or how many loses you take. It's about improving and getting better throughout the season so that you are battle tested and hopefully gel at the right time.
