  1. Alnwick only allotted 350 tickets for the opener Friday.
  2. At least we now know that the first sentence of the thread is not even remotely true, according to Murvil Ath Dept release yesterday regarding tickets... As for the rest, I dont care if they play in a phone booth, should be a good game, if they play.
  3. It was a great night. A once in a generation thing. Glad you were alive for it. If Murvil relaxes the rule on backpacks this year, since there will be no concessions, I'll sneak you in too.
  4. I know I'll get in. BTW, We only allow one Alcoee fan in the shop at a time to get their hair cut.
  5. The name won't change....yet. Don't care how many people sign either petition, the money says it can't happen now. Potential donor/sponsor withholdings and the cost of removing "the brand" says it ain't the time. The school board will more than likely make no further statements and hope that it disappears again. That's just my take tho.
  6. Then there’s all those new apartments on Middlesettlements Rd. that are zoned for Alcoee, but have a Murvil address!!!!
  7. No way you get the greatest Karate master of all time in that joint. He would have dominated MMA back in the 80’s. ....and Jack would be flossing his teeth with that mongrel mutt.
  8. Alcoa’s idea of “state of the art...”
  9. CJ was around WBHS when he was a little kid and his sister was in the marching band. His mom was very active in the band boosters back when the band was rolling 250+ strong. He was all Governor.
  10. Hoof’s blast about Tyler Maples ears will never be forgotten by the living SSS board member.
  11. If he would have made the move to 2B from the outfield at a young age he would have had a chance. He was stuck in Pirates low A when they had a ton of good (and powerful) talent in AAA and the big club. Not much use for a 5’8” outfielder in those days.
  12. Nix is awful. Gave up 41 points to Huntingdon for crying out loud!!!! But this guy....is now the highest paid coach in the state of Georgia...... https://coosavalleynews.com/2019/03/romes-john-reid-becomes-highest-paid-high-schoool-coach-in-georgia/
  13. I remember the days of the three team district that included WB, Farragut and Oak Ridge. (4-AAA) The district also included Campbell, Karns, Lenoir City, Carter, Doyle and I think Halls. BUT, none of those teams wanted to play Oak Ridge, so they never could qualify for the playoffs for their cowardice. In 1982, Gov’s Meathead ran for over 200 yards in the upset of Farragut, setting up a one-game, winner goes to the playoffs vs OR. Govs lost 28-0, but it was neat to have a big game Early in the program history. (Season record was 5-5) Ironically enough, Heritage was not in the same district, but went 9-1 that season, and lost to OR in the first round of the playoffs 27-7.
