Not sure Oakland will encounter another defense line like Riverdale’s. Those boys weren’t squatty bodies, they were tall, muscular, and athletic. If Maryville has a defensive line better than this, Oakland doesn’t have a chance.

Riverdale does not have anything to be ashamed, they laid it all on the online. Unfortunately, they did not have the horses to close the deal. Congratulations for a great season. As for Oakland, good luck against Maryville next week.

Once again you fail to use other metrics. How about time consuming drives that keep the offense on the bench? I guarantee you that if that defense gets the chance to play Maryville, game, set, match for the Rebels. I would also add that your points per game from previous years contain more competitive teams. This year’s team had a powder puff schedule. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I agree totally with that assessment. Riverdale’s secondary does have some holes.

You may be right, but you may be wrong. That’s why they play the game. I can see a way in which Oakland beats MJ handily, but Oakland’s defense is like a sieve. I hope they do beat MJ, because the Warriors will be ready in a rematch.

Go back and look at the Riverdale game and tell me what you think of their defense. Their defense is fair to poor. They cannot control the line of scrimmage. As far as Warren County is concerned, it wasn’t just Taylor who ran the ball down their throats.

I am taking MJ in a stunner. I think they will control the ball on offense and not allow the Patriots to have the ball. This game will finally show everyone that Oakland’s defense is their Achilles heel.

I agree there aren’t any moral victories in football. However, Warren County’s offense did all they wanted to do against Oakland’s defense. The only thing they didn’t do was close the deal. Oakland has a good offense, but their defense is as bad as the Titans.

If the same Oakland defense shows up in the second round like showed up last night, you guys will punch your ticket to the quarterfinals. Warren County’s Offense showed Oakland’s Defense who their daddy was.

Forgot to congratulate Warren Co. You guys had a chance to win the Region last night and you left everything on the field. I know a moral victory isn’t what you were looking for, but keep your heads up. You have the opportunity to shake up the playoffs. Take it one game at a time.

Okay, I missed my prediction. Let’s be honest this game could have gone either way. Oakland has a decent offense, but their defense is almost non-existent. I don’t see them getting out of the second round, much less having the opportunity to to get trounced by Maryville. Prediction, if Oakland and Riverdale meet again, Riverdale will beat them by two touchdowns.

I smell an upset. I think Oakland's defense will not be able to stop the Pioneers. This defense is not Riverdale's. They are small, and have a diffiucult time getting off blocks. Leonard Losers takes....The Pioneers by 10.

Allow me to chime in on this comment. I saw Oakland play last night prior to the game being called due to lightening. The Oakland offense is a formidable foe, but their defense is small and can easily be gashed. If these two happen to meet in the semifinals, I do not see anyway Oakland wins. Maryville would have to provide a lot of turnovers. The Patriot defense is not ready for “prime time.”

I agree that Riverdale’s defensive front is legit, however, in a rematch with Oakland I can see where it would be a run away game. There are some weaknesses in Riverdale’s back end of the defense in which Oakland can take advantage. Strange that Blackman has been so disappointing this year. Appears to be a coaching issue.

Kudos to the job this coaching staff and players have done this year. Enjoy the success, you have earned it.

Got a chance to see the game on TV. If there is a rematch, Oakland will completely dominate if they saw the weaknesses on defense that I saw from Riverdale’s secondary. I don’t think Rutherford County deserves the reputation of the SEC this year. They have Oakland, a good team, Riverdale a slightly above average team, and pretty much average to below average for the rest.

Maryville is just like Alabama, they don’t rebuild, they just reload.
