  1. I’m pretty sure Camden ran the spread most of that game. Sounded like very little of McConell’s single wing / wing T / triple option / veer offense he runs when he doesn’t have the personnel to run his tempo spread he is so good at. Obviously Camden isn’t as good as UC but Westview does seem to be playing pretty good defense.
  2. I have seen Westview play at Fairview and online against Peabody. Fairview took the opening drive down the field and scored quickly. Seems like Westview made an adjustment and was able to slow the run game down. Fairview has a lot of weapons but just couldn’t move the ball effectively. I would love to see the Fairview/Waverly game! If UC could get a lead or keep it a one score game then they could very well burn some clock. Problem is if you get down a couple of scores and have to change your game plan, give them more opportunities to get the ball back. Should be a good game.
  3. It doesn't have to make it to the 35, does it? The receiving team can elect to make them re-kick an out of bounds kick.
  4. If Ripley goes back to the Wing T then this week it could be a 8-6 game with a missed 2 point conversion as the deciding factor. Two teams that don’t mind quarter long drives could make for a low scoring affair.
  5. He should be fine at wide out this week, I doubt SG has multiple 6' plus DBs to contest the 50/50 ball like Trenton does. Just throw it up and let him out athlete them.
  6. No worries, I’m sure it will be a good game. I haven’t seen SG but they always seem to find a way to be competitive. Milan is Milan and are definitely a tough game for anyone, especially at home.
  7. Seriously? I have read enough of your posts to know that your poor mouthing statements about your football team aren't what you believe. You took offense to an opinion about Milan maybe not being as good as some people think and decided to use sarcasm as a rebuttal. Then resorted to name calling because you thought your sarcastic remark might not have landed. I get it, you love your team but for someone that throws as much shade on so many different teams you would think you wouldn't be so thin skinned when someone throws a little towards the Bulldogs. See ya
  8. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, just an observation. I didn't use the words small or slow, those are your adjectives.
  9. I don't think SG will go down easy in this one. They are well coached and will play whistle to whistle. Milan may not be as good as some think, Brown can't do it all. They look pretty average, for a Milan team, everywhere else. I say a missed extra point will be the difference with one team having to make a stop late on the 2 point conversion. Milan 21 SG 19
  10. NFHS is a racket with a good sales staff, they make superintendents and principals think they will get a big check from their cut and I doubt it is worth the hassle. Their crews spend more time chasing down people videoing or FaceTiming the games than putting out a quality product. Also, their network is horrible! Skips and buffering are the norm. Do away with NFHS!!!
  11. Covington.....Alcoa.....season ends when either of those show up on the schedule, if not sooner. 3A got a gift when Milan and South Gibson moved up but that isn't much help when Dyersburg and Ripley moved down to 3A.
  12. Of course they don't want him getting hit in a scrimmage but anyone that has seen him play knows that scrambling and running are a huge part of his game. When you know he isn't going to run you can play a little differently. He is as slippery and athletic out of the pocket as they come.
  13. I see Halls continues to be a head scratcher, beat Trenton and their best pitcher on Monday then get no hit by their number 4 or 5 guy on Tuesday. Huntington is a hard book to read also, started 0-9 or something and had a win against Westview and a couple against Mckenzie in the last week, you never know I guess.
  14. I watched LC,UC, Crocket Co, Trenton, Halls, Westview, and Tilghman play some at UC. Tilghman is a really good team and they threw their best pitchers in the Ladd tournament. Crocket Co is a solid team but they have district games Monday and Tuesday so I doubt they threw anyone in the tournament they might need for those games. LC looked pretty good, they can hit and pitched pretty well. They will be fine in their district. UC has one pitcher and the defense is suspect at best, they will finish out of the running for district the championship. Trenton has a couple of players but not many "baseball" players, their defense wasn't great either. Halls looked better than everybody says, they have some arms and some big kids that can swing it pretty well. Westview looked good, defense was solid and looked like they could hit throughout the lineup. They have district games Monday and Tuesday also so I doubt any pitchers they used are in their top 3 or 4. They lost in the championship game 7-2, they had the lead 2-0 after the 5th inning but ran out of steam. The big left handed kid that pitched for Tilghman is a Louisville commit that got stronger the more he pitched.
  15. Sounds like the lefty lived up to the expectations. He is a really savvy pitcher that keeps hitters off balance. I hear he is really banged up right now, hopefully he heals quickly. Good luck to y'all.
  16. UC has one senior pitcher who can get really get people out, if they make plays behind him, then a huge drop off after that. I'm not sure if they are young or not but they are very porous on defense and only have a couple of kids that hit very well. They will not be a test for LC after the lefty throws.
  17. The kid can play, his record is more contingent on the competition than one player's talent. That region is historically one of the best in the state. Covington, Milan, South Gibson, Bolivar (when they had their stud QB), and Mcnairy Co. I'm pretty sure one of those teams makes it to Cookeville almost every year. 3 different coaches in 3 years probably hasn't helped either. He did get a pair of wins against the powerhouse, Waverly, during his HS career.
  18. Because being able to choose which one of the 10 top football programs in the country he wants to play at just isn't good enough? I bet his options would really open up if he played for the coveted gold ball at Alcoa or Trenton. Should they just ship him off to IMG or some other place and watch his games on TV and miss out on actually getting to see him grow up? It may be hard to get community support for UTM football if the coach sent his kid to another school around Martin. Maybe the parents quit their jobs and uproot the rest of the family for high school football trophies?
  19. Why should he transfer? Think it would help his offers? Think he could get better QB coaching from Dilfer? I’m sure his dad has the contacts to get him the one on one coaching he needs. He’s committable to all of those that have offered him. Maybe, just maybe there is some benefit to not have a surrounding cast. Go to IMG and don’t perform and those offers may start to disappear. These coaches are recruiting athletically gifted players and he is that so he will be just fine at Westview.
  20. Maybe one more player, I'm pretty sure the running back is the same one that had around 300 yards and 4 or 5 TDs last year against Waverly.
  21. Both sides are quiet...Stangs can’t figure out if 18 points is enough to hold them off and 3 rivers thinks it is definitely enough
