I think CD boys will give SG a fit. The Derry boy is long and athletic and a whole summer of running could get him in good shape to wear everybody out this year. The young core around him is very talented as well.

Chuckey-Doak will own the league in both sports. They have a lot of young talent that will progress with experience.

NG has plenty of returning guards as well, so they will be just fine, as they look to make their 3rd state tournament appearance in a row.

Well I was just referring to the fact that CD had only won 2 games the past 2 seasons and they actually won 7 this year, they have some good young girls and I think a full summer will help them develop. WG was also missing their best player who tore her ACL earlier this year and will only be a Junior next year. -The Eagle has landed

Not sure why nobody is mentioning Ted Haley the assistant at North Greene. They have been to 2 state tournaments since he has been helping there the past 4 years. And from what I hear the players love playing for him, he knows how to get the most out of his players every game.

Who is mocking them?

Agreed, at the end of the day I think they have too much Satterfield and Gillespie for them to handle

I agree, I’ve been watching their games all year, and can’t even go to one of the biggest games of the whole season

Thoughts on the Greeneville and Upperman game?

Chuckey Doak has a pretty good shot at making it down here due to the coaching change there last year. They have a good young core, as well as a tremendous transfer who will only be a sophomore next year. As well as West Greene, who will be mostly upperclassman with an amazing group of seniors.

Beth Frye formally at Chuckey Doak, who is now assisting at Walter State, had several deep runs into the region and a few sub state appearances but could never quite get over the hump.

West Greene’s Betsy Shaw is a really good hire if you’re looking to advance your program. As well as, Lisa Darnell, she has really turned the Chuckey Doak program around this year. And Annette Watts from Greeneville would’ve had her girls down here but they are young and inexperienced. So Mo East should really take these people into consideration.

I think North Greene could surprise a lot of people this year once they get rollin.

That is correct, but you can’t score too much if you’re consistently turning the ball over before you get past half court. That might work in East TN, but not down here.

Think it’s about time to add NG girls coach James Buchanan to the mix. He took a group of girls who weren’t nearly as talented and beat the #1 team this year. He is also approaching his 400th victory. And has 5 state tournament trips under his belt.

I agree. Got beat by the only two good games they played all year. They are very talented but have lost their chance at any big success bc they are gonna get blown out now that they are AA

Yes it looks like NG had 2 or 3 who came to play today but it also looked like there were a few that were also intimidated, scared, and not very aggressive.
