  1. I would think PC would be favored again, but MC looked as good as I've seen them at Hardin County. And Hardin County is no slouch.
  2. Not sure where you get the idea Marshall is one dimensional. Their top back has almost 600 rushing yards.
  3. Hard to do much when you lose your starting QB before the season starts and you lose your best RB from last year.
  4. I'm not saying MC has no chance, because there's a reason they play the game. However, looking at scores among like opponents, MC hasn't played its starters through virtually any second half since Station Camp. They haven't needed to. PC is probably the better overall team, but if MC can limit mistakes and capitalize when they have to, this could be a game into the fourth quarter.
  5. Community will have to get equal production from Simmons inside and have their shooters hit. Community only shot 7-21 from three against Scotts Hill. Will have to be better to beat Westview.
  6. I've not seen Scotts Hill play, but looking at their schedule, it looks like it was an extremely down year out west. The mid-state and eastern teams have played much tougher schedules this season.
  7. The officiating was horribly inconsistent in the Community/Smith Co. sectional game. Take nothing away from Smith, but the officials would blow their whistle without even knowing what the call was. Saw that happen a few times in that game. That, and they couldn't decide what a foul was.
  8. That may have had an impact on the Lexington/Greenbrier game. Nolan Carson was the starter in the last game against Marshall.
  9. Any clue who the Greenbrier quarterback was? The starter was injured last week against Marshall County.
  10. Does anyone know who the quarterback was for Greenbrier tonight? The starting QB/S was injured last week against Marshall County. Curious if they had to play with a back up at Lexington or if Carson played tonight.
  11. I know it's hard to look at teams and make predictions based entirely on scores....that being said, MC gets Chester County on Friday and Chester County's last two wins were Liberty (65-18) and Bolivar Central (56-12) with a combined 1-19 record. Marshall County has steamrolled just about everyone and they truthfully didn't play very well against Greenbrier and still won by three touchdowns. Pearl Cohn shouldn't have any issue and truthfully, I think we're all hoping for a possible rematch in the third round with Marshall County. I'm interested to see what Lexington and Hardin County do. Creek Wood is a tricky team that really limits possessions and takes advantage of mistakes. Greenbrier definitely can get off the field on third down, but their QB did go down against MC. I don't know a ton about Hardin County or Lexington.
  12. I'm sure Pearl will want to turn it into a track meet, but Marshall County has a pretty good run defense, and a loaded backfield. I'd wager they will want to try and run the ball to limit Pearl's possessions. And yes, Marshall County's QB is the real deal.
  13. It was as bad as it sounded. Tullahoma's only sustained drive of the second half came on a targeting penalty and a pass interference late in the fourth quarter when it was running clock. Marshall's defense absolutely lived in the backfield in the second half.
  14. Take that game with a grain of salt. Cornersville was not conditioned late in the game and it showed. I think Cornersville was probably a two score winner if they didn't lose half the team to cramps. That said, I don't think Cornersville wins at Clay County. I'd wager they still have a handful of wins left on the schedule though. The Franklin kid is the real deal.
  15. I think Marshall County learned how to win ugly last week, which is what good teams do. Both MCHS and Tullahoma have weapons in the kicking game. Also, Marshall County's senior tailback sat out last week. Haven't heard if he's going to go this week, but I'd wager he's ready. I'd think Marshall wins by two scores.
  16. Marshall's run defense has been a strength of the team. Columbia had a kid break a few long runs, but overall, the MCHS run defense has been good. Plus, the Jones kid may be one of the best sophomore receivers I've ever seen. He had 153 return yards against Columbia and then had 142 receiving yards against Shelbyville. Like I said, based on the two games I've seen MCHS play in, and comparing like opponents (MCHS played Fairview in the preseason), I'd think MCHS might be a 2-3 score winner.
  17. Creekwood lost to Fairview, who Marshall handled pretty easily in a preseason scrimmage. Until I see something from Marshall County that gives cause for concern, I'm not picking against them. After two games, only team I think that may give them issues is Pearl Cohn. Marshall has been dominant so far.
  18. Man, what a game. Had Marshall County played a cleaner first half, could very well have been a different outcome. That fourth quarter was a lot of fun.
  19. I don't see Forrest winning out. Cascade will win and Mt. Pleasant will win by two-plus scores. Cascade's defense has been lights out so far this year.
  20. The problem with Davis at QB is you lose your top playmaker at WR. They still have talent there, but there's no doubt Davis is the best player on offense.
  21. What a game to watch. Neither offense did much in the second half, but the Inmon kid was showed out tonight for Cascade. That defense is for real.
  22. Having seen Cornersville, I think they're as in a good of a position as anyone to make a run. They completely handled Richland in Week 1 and really played shut down defense against Forrest last week. They have a healthy stable of backs, but the real strength of this team is on the line. I would think Cornersville wins by 2+ scores.
  23. Haven't seen a topic yet, what's everyone's thoughts on this one? Scouting report on either?
