ER is absolutely the 2nd best team in 1A and not too far behind Eagleville. ER was up 12-6 going into the 7th and gave up 7 runs off 2 errors to bring it to 13-12 Eagleville bottom of the 7th. ER had runners 1st and 3rd. Ground ball to the shortstop and a collision at 2nd ump called the runner and batter out ending the game. ER still had an 85 lefty in the pen and a couple more 80 arms. Terrible ending to this group of kids who are the last players from the 21 state team.

East couldn’t touch Eaglevilles 1 and Eagleville was finding all the gaps to go along with some defensive errors by East. Eaglevilles the heavy favorite for tmr, but wouldn’t be surprised to see East work some magic. Should be fun!!

Makes me sick thinking of all the teams whose season these kids ended. Completely ruined the state tournament last year and will likely ruin Santa Fe’s season AGAIN. Shoulda been shut down 2 years ago.

How is their district tournament formatted?

Jo Byrns beats East Robertson 45-43 in the district championship. ER up 15 at half and 9 at the end of the 3rd, but lose it in the final minute after leading the whole game. I can’t imagine how this team has only won 4 games all year they looked like the better team tonight.

Freshman class this year has some ball players, but there is no telling how they will end up with how football and baseball pulls from the basketball team nowadays.

Few injuries and a couple kids quitting and they were down 6-7 players from last year’s team. They’ve gotten a few back now and have put together a couple of wins, but aren’t in any shape to compete with some of the other teams in their region. Tough season for a team with so much winning history, but i’m sure they will get talent and be back in the mix here in the coming years.

Incase anyone was wondering they got beat by 30 last night.

It’s 1A basketball with one of the weakest paths to get there. It’s not impressive making it to state and losing by 15+.

ER loses a close one to Goodpasture yesterday. This team will be playing for a gold ball come march, they are the real deal.

I could agree with this, I believe they were down 6 going into the fourth against Middleton last year. Impressive team that also beat Hampton twice last year.

Still shoulda got him the ball on a go or anything. He is 6’5 and has a major athletic advantage over everyone.

ER didn’t play bad, but shoulda hit #2 Groves for some passes. I understand not putting it on the freshman qb but come on now.

Completely agree, think both these teams will play their best game of the year. With that being said , could see East being derailed by penalties. Doubt that will happen though.
