  1. CC is a talented bunch. Rebels can score will have to see if our defense can stop them. M- 34 C.C.- 21
  2. I have to agree, but this Mckenzie team does have a great offense led by the 2nd rated QB in the state only behind G Mac. In only his second year as the starter Surber looks to be on another level. The ball comes out quick and accurate and I hear they are going to play faster and faster the more they settle into the new system. Defenses will be employing the fake a injury strategy to try and slow them down.
  3. With their size and athleticism MASE can match up with anybody.
  4. MASE will definitely have something to say. They are the Chatt. Prep in the West. They are are bigger, stronger and faster than everyone else. Not sure about UC yet. They play USJ this week that will be a good measuring stick.
  5. Looks to be wide open. McKenzie, UC or MASE out of the West. The East will be more interesting for sure.
  6. Why would they not be good. We see what they did in basketball. When coaches can bring in anybody they want they should be good. Everybody knew they were going to good. Don't think you are telling anybody anything they don't already know. Boyd should be better than 1a schools they are AA private school I would hope they would be better than 1A public schools. MASE in the same situation will have a lot of good athletes as well. The fact is they are not playing by the same set of rules as everybody else.
  7. Not to beat a dead horse but, MASE should not be either. Seems like everyone should be following the same parameters. Being able to pull kids from all over a large metropolitan area just doesn't seem right when all the other public schools are having to follow a certain set of guidelines.
  8. Me too, I don't know anything about the Murray team they just played.
  9. You could use the Dresden game against McKenzie next week as a common opponent b/w the 2, but I see Hodge getting a comfortable enough lead and shutting it down rather quickly.
  10. I am a Rebel fan. OS just beat the man so in my opinion they deserve that spot for now. Although we just won a close one against a good Huntingdon team we got run all over in the process. We got to get that fixed. As now any team with a solid running game will give us fits. We can score yes, but our defense is not where it needs be that I can honestly say we are going to cake walk through the west. We lost some very good line backers and defensive lineman last year that led our defense.
  11. 1. Oliver Springs 2. McKenzie 3. Union City 4. Gordonsville 5. S Pitt 6. Chatt.. Prep 7. MASE 8. Clay Co 9. Coalfield 10. Moore Co.
  12. I don't care about WV, Dresden, or Huntingdon I was just trying to help you find your way around the T. See can't even help folks these days. I am sure Alcoa, Covington etc.. wants to know who their state champion is this year. They don't even have you in the top 10 over there and you can't plead your case here by boasting about beating a 1A team who lost just about every starter from a year ago.
  13. Directions on how to use the board. Scroll to the top, Click on "football" scroll down a little click "3a/4a" and then your home. Click on an Alcoa or any other 3a thread and begin typing. No one here gives a rats ####
  14. Hoping Bruceton has a good year would like to see them back in the playoffs. Best of luck this year.
  15. Not sure about the QB @ Milan, but Comer was always good about making adjustments to his offense to get the most out of what he had. You won't find may coaches that are going out work Comer I will say that. If the kids have bought into what he is selling then Milan will tough to beat. A lot of kids just don't want to be that disciplined and put in that kind of work. Comer is good a taking an average player and making them a lot better than they would normally be under different circumstances. You may not like his process, but you can't argue with the results.
  16. I may be in the minority but, I personally like calm. Means both teams have a mutual respect for another. I know rivalries can sometimes get heated, but I love when kids show respect and good sportsmanship win or lose it sets a good example for all the dysfunctional adults out there.
  17. Obion has some work to do. I watched them scrimmage McKenzie and it was not pretty. Going to have to give the new coach a little time to get things worked out.
  18. I wouldn't forget about MASE either. Whenever you have that much size and athleticism there is always a possibility.
  19. I will share my perspective on why there might be a slight edge for Huntingdon going into this game. . Here is why. Huntingdon is playing @ home. Mckenzie's first real game with a new coach and new system. Huntingdon has the ability to sustain long drives and grind you out which keeps McKenzie's offense off the field which could throw the rhythm of their offense off if they don't get going early. Mckenzie is probably still searching for identity and moving people around on defense same as the Mustangs. I think you and I are pretty realistic in the way we look at our own teams. I definitely wouldn't bet money on this game either way I think it comes down to the wire. Side note I'm not sure what you guys did to the westview guy posting above but he definitely has no love lost for you guys at all.
  20. South Pitt until someone can prove they can beat them then I think McKenzie or MASE from the west. Union City and Oliver Springs could be the surprise teams kind of like McKenzie was last year.
  21. No feelings hurt here was just curious if you were making a serious post or not. I see now that it was not .
