  1. Each town in Carroll County has its own Special School District. You can't live in the Huntingdon and go to school in McKenzie. It doesn't work that way.
  2. So Mckenzie has 57 more kids than PCHS. PCHS has twice as many kids as Gleason and Greenfield. So if they added another class so PCHS could be in with only smaller schools, then the Gleason's of the world would still have the same argument you are trying to make. PCHS actually has more kids than Moore Co. and Lake County and they have done pretty well. Since reclassification McKenzie has always had to bounce back and forth from 1A/2A. They are either a larger 1A school or the smallest 2A school. If Mckenzie was in 2A this year, the largest 2A school would have close to 200 more kids than McKenzie. So I am not sure there is a way to fix this to satisfy you. Of course I have no sympathy, when I played there were only 3 classes including all the privates so it is a lot more fair today than in many years past.
  3. If we agree that Moore County and Dresden return almost everybody from last year's teams, then Moore CO proved last year that they could play with 2 of the best teams that 1A has seen over the past several years. Dresden did not fair too well against those 2 teams last year. I am not saying this proves anything, but is one way to look at it. Dresden has a good football team, but I think their win against McKenzie is not as impressive as it may turn out. I think McKenzie got overhyped because of beating Huntingdon in week one, who came in with an awful game plan and turned the ball over. Dresden did expose McKenzie for who they are at this point in time, a team that only returns 2 starters on both sides of the ball with inexperienced lines and no depth. And from what I hear about S. Pitt they have a juggernaut of a team with a few new additions to their team. I am leaving Moore Co and S. Pitt @ 1&2 with Dresden close @ 3.
  4. 1. S.Pitt 2. Moore Co 3. Dresden 4. Union City 5. MASE
  5. I am just being real here. If McKenzie comes out and plays as unmotivated and lethargic as they did last week, they are not beating anyone especially Chester County. Interesting to see how they respond.
  6. Yours is right according to last week's jacked up poll, but in reality they should be this: 1. South Pitt 2. Moore County 3. Dresden 4. Union City 5. MASE
  7. I never remember having an easier time finding the Huntingdon ball carrier than I did watching last week's game. I brought this up in a different thread over the weekend.
  8. 1.) Moore Co, S. Pitt, Union City 2.) McKenzie, Dresden 3). MASE
  9. 2019 HMS won 38-0 , MMS won 31-22 in 2020 and went undefeated which would be McKenzie's JR class now I think.
  10. I don't think anybody knew what to expect from McKenzie except they were not going to be as good as last year's team. I knew they had to players to make the Huntingdon game winnable but didn't know how much the lack of experience would be a factor. Like you, I am not going to sell the farm on how good they are. I want to see how consistent they are from week to week and how they improve each week. Maybe Huntingdon had a hard time preparing for this game because they did not know what to expect either vs. McKenzie knowing pretty much what was coming. With that said as far as talented athletes I did not see much difference b/w the two teams.
  11. Mckenzie still has a lot of work to put in. Oh yeah by the way we have a McCreary 2.0 in younger brother.
  12. McKenzie will look to improve upon the running game. The Rebels are going to have to be able to chew clock and move the chains in a lot of games so I am looking for the run blocking to improve each week. I thought the line did pretty well in pass protections. The kicking game is solid. Huntingdon will look to improve upon its pass defense. Not sure how much Riverside and Milan throw the ball? As usual Huntingdon moved the ball on the ground pretty well. I thought McKenzie did a good job not giving up a lot of home run plays. Huntingdon's run defense is pretty good gave up 2 big runs but besides that they will stick it up in there. One last thing as a spectator I usually have a harder time picking up who has the ball for Huntingdon for some reason it seemed easier to find the ball in this game. I know my eyesight has not improved. Carroll County will once again be in the thick of it come playoffs.
  13. Different year same discussion. Nobody was going to be able to compete with all that talent last year either then we saw how that turned out they got blanked in the semi finals. Can't wait for the Youtube videos though.
  14. McKenzie has a talented enough team to make this game an interesting match up. Things we don't know about this team. How much is inexperience going to cost the Rebels in this game? How will this team respond if they get down in the game? Will they chalk it up to inexperience and look to the next week or will they keep competing. Did they have a clear goal and expectations during the summer that they put in the work and are in shape for the start of the season? That can be a difficult thing to do coming off a state title and losing that many non returning players. How big of an impact will losing key members of the coaching staff have? I think this will be a team most may write off early in the season and then become a threat come playoff time. I believe this will be Comer's best coaching performance yet and look forward to seeing these Rebels progress each week and come together in time for the playoffs.
  15. Is this list based off how far teams are expected to go in their own respective classes?
  16. City and Mckenzie just had too many weapons and depth for them to deal with last year. I'm not sure that there will be any teams of that caliber that they will have to contend with this year. I know UC and MASE are supposed to be real good but how well will they compare to the City and Mckenzie teams of last year we will have to wait and see.
  17. If MC proves to be as good or better than they were last year, they are the favorite coming out of the West. Long sustained scoring drives is what it will take to beat them. Time will tell if there are any offenses in 1a this year built to get into a shootout with MC. This kid is a one man wrecking crew. Should have his own magic show in Las Vegas.
  18. He is talking about the class that just graduated.
  19. That is not always the case depends on the year and the single A team. There are some really good single A teams year in and out. Especially when Peabody, Huntingdon, and Union City are in Single A. Last year I guarantee you Mase and McKenzie would have been just fine playing Covington.
  20. I agree with him that today's generation may think that Hunt/Mckenzie would be more of a rivalry. Since 2000 Huntingdon has won 12 and Mckenzie has won 11. But to an old fart like me, Milan and Huntingdon is still the best rivalry. McKenzie really wasn't relevant in football prior to 2000. The 5 decades prior to 2000 they were only above .500 for 2 of those decades. It wasn't until the late 90's and tired of being complacent Mckenzie hired a tenured coach from out of state to turn the program around. Another problem with the Mck/Huntingdon rivalry is they rarely meet in playoffs.
