Did I say something that was not true? Is an individual that got kicked out of school for violating school policies not a delinquent? That’s not bashing anyone just stating a fact and I purposely left any names out of it. But come on are we really going to be that sensitive? Our schools are rivals. Am I not allowed to have a little fun on this board after yall been beating our tails for 20 years???

HOW BOUT THAT CLEAN SWEEP!!! GO BIG BLUE!!! Not even I saw this coming this year, but it sure does feel nice. Baylor still wouldn’t have won even if they had their delinquents. The EBE is back to stay! We’ve got some more big boys looking to come in next year in the upper weights. Baylor and the Catholics might need to combine forces to hang with us next year.

The whole team could come down with the flu and not have a single place winner and guess what, we’re still state champs! I’m going to soak this one in and enjoy it! I am curious if the rumors are true though. I’ve heard a lot of talk lately about schools like Father Ryan, MBA, CBHS, and Ensworth trying to push us and Baylor out of the TSSAA. Honestly I can understand why. This is a larger issue than wrestling. Just look at the D2 football scene. It’s been dominated by us and Baylor ever since we got our admins to commit to using the resources we’ve had at our disposal for a long time now. I’m sure it will only continue to progress until the TSSAA puts some bylaws in place to even the playing field.

I want to point out a few things. 1. Enough folks complained about the ridiculousness of a 16 man bracket being wrestled over the course of 3 days and now we have a 2 day tournament again. I do think if the T$$AA received enough complaints they would adjust the criteria next year. I mean they already changed it from last year with you now have to not only have placed last year to be seeded but you now also have to win your region and section duals. I’m sure that changed because folks complained about section winners being seeded that didn’t win their region duals. So I’m optimistic they would listen if enough people voiced their dissatisfaction. 2. Can you imagine if the football playoffs were seeded based off how you far you made it in the playoffs the prior year? And then they just did a random draw for any teams that didn’t make the semi finals or something like that? Just listen to how ludicrous that sounds and picture the uproar. Well that’s what they’ve done with the state duals and we’re just saying, “it is what it is.” 3. Honest question regarding the cow poop palace. How did the private schools get the T$$AA to approve them having their individual tournament at MBA and the public schools get left with having to continue to compete in a cold expo park on a dirt floor where some cow sh¡+ a few days prior to rolling the mats out? I’m sure these kids and coaches would rather wrestle at a nice public school with a big arena than this poop palace even if the T$$AA isn’t willing to secure somewhere nice for them like McKenzie, Thompson Boling, Bridgestone, Memorial at Vandy, MTSU, FedEx Forum, etc.

I’ll take Baylor over Ryan in a super tight match. McCallie big over CBHS. McCallie over Baylor in another tight one to win it all.

Soddy over Station camp in the semis and Pigeon Forge over Signal in the semis. Soddy beats Pigeon Forge by 20+ in the finals. Station Camp beats Signal for 3rd.

T$$AA is so lazy. They’re just as bad with the individual tournament “seeding.”

Alright Bob I gotta give it to you, your second paragraph gave me a great laugh. LOL!!! I’m just joking around and stirring the pot a little since we might finally have a chance this year.

They’ve been sweating all week over there!

With it being confirmed that Baylor will be without two of their best tomorrow, I’m going to reverse my pick and anticipate coming home happy tomorrow night. Baylor now should see the risk in buying talent every year versus developing it. Not saying we haven’t bought some ourselves lol but at least we’ve developed some and still have kids coming up through our middle school program. After what transpired this week, could this be the beginning of the end for Baylor’s administration’s commitment to running a recruiting only program? McCallie by fiddy! Go Big Blue!

I will miss this one for the Baylor v. McCallle match to see if the big blue can end the 20 year streak, but you love to see Chattanooga wrestling back with some great rivalries like Soddy-Signal and what should be a competitive battle tomorrow between Baylor and McCallie. While I understand the excitement around this one, actually don’t see it being all that close though despite it being #1 against #2. As Clubber Lang once said, “My prediction? Pain.” And a lot of it for the boys from the mountain tomorrow. Soddy will show they are officially back to the Steve Henry glory days. And that’s great for Chattanooga and Tennessee wrestling as a whole. I hope to see them start wrestling McCallie again next year like Coach Henry would. No disrespect to Signal Mountain, but this Soddy Daisy team is for real and people aren’t giving them the respect they deserve because they’re in small school. I bet they would give McCallie, Ryan, and Baylor a run for their money.

I will take Baylor somewhere in the 15-18 point range. Unless Baylor hauls in another great recruiting class, I would probably say the opposite next year. This McCallie team has a lot to be excited about in the future!
