I just looked at the tssaa web page and it says el 24-21. coach t last night had it 48-0 westmorland so what was the score?

I have to agree I have never seen a livingston bunch act the way their Jr. high team did. They have always acted with class win or lose. Maybe this is something that once they get to high school will be corrected. I'm sure coach Lamb will take care of this as they have always had alot of class in all their sports.

Owls must keep getting better and they will. Alot of young players are stepping up.

I miss read your post. the 60 team did win their first round region game. They lost in the frist round state toury. game which would be the sectional game at this time.

This is true to my knowledge. But understand the sectional back then was the frist round of the state.

Sure they can. When you make it this far anything can happen. The sub-state is part of the state just not played on the same site. The only Owl baseball team to make it this far was in 1960 when Buck Nixon pitched for the Owls and he went on to pitch in the Braves system for many years. They lost to a team from Memphis that had long time catcher for the Cards Tim McCarver. Why to go Owls!

Great job Both teams. No body believed this would happen that two teams from a cupcake Region would be 2 of 8 remaining in the state with Pearl Cohn and Goodpaster in our Qt..But here we are two old boys fighting it out to be 1 of 4.I love it. The media don't know it all. Who ever wins this game I wish the best.

In one sense the scheme allows you to play a lower classification if they have a good program. For instance if a 3A wanted to play South Pittsburg, a win gets you 100-40=60 but also gets you 5 times the wins that South Pitt has (5 times 9=45). Therefore you still get 105 points. This is still good since you can play down provided you don't go seeking easy wins. Maybe there could be one exception per season to allow for existing rivalries where you keep the 100 points if you win regardless of their classification.. That sounds better than the way it was in the 70's. Thanks I could go with that plan.

This could make 1a and 2a have a hard time of finding non-district games. Also: teams that have a smaller school as a rival that they may have played for 70 years have a disavantage like Smith co. and Gordonsville. With Gordonsville being a 1a team and Smith Co. a 3a. They are the only teams in the county and back in the 70's the school bd. made them play. Back then there where small and large classes. If you played in a smaller class you got no points. So Smith Co. didn't want to play Gordonsville but still the bd. made them. Even though it hurt Smith Co. change to get into the playoffs.

With AE in the top ten is an easy one. If you look at where the votes come from you could see that most come from East Tn. They for most part don"t even look past Kingston. Or, know there is a middle or west Tn.
