  1. Most of us do this for the love of the game and the kids. If it wasn't for the kids I would stay home and get all this abuse from the wife!!!!!!! (another reason to referee)
  2. Swing, hit or miss, is ruled a fight. You are ejected and must sit for two games (or what is normally played in a week).
  3. In order to go to one school and play at another you have to have a cooperative agreement between the two school. This must be approved by the TSSAA. If you transfer to another school it can't be for athletic reasons, unless you have a situation like this and then you will have to file a hardship with TSSAA.
  4. Melton: I don't think they will go back to it in the NCAA. As you know they just went to table side 2 or 3 years ago and didn't like it. Some officials like it one way and the others the other way, it is a toss up. If an official needs to talk to the coach they can stay and talk and let the other two administer the free throw. I like table side, but as you know some young officials don't need to stay over there. The coach is not working on that call, but the next call. If he can get into the young officials head it will mess him or her up and the coach will get the next call. Just food for thought. (I still can't see because of the glare)
  5. There is accountability. The officials schedule will be pulled if he or she do not live up to the standards. Each association is responsible for the officials and has the power to pull anyones schedule that can't officiate (I know this has been done several times). One official had the state tournament and lost it because of something that happened in the region. This is not based on how many fouls that they call on any one team, but how well they know the rules and how to apply them. There is more to calling a game than "just showing up". We have to concentrate on the game with all you arm chair refs yelling not to call a foul on your little boy or girl. Most refs could care less who wins or looses the game; we are just there for the love of the game and the kids involved. None of us do it for you or the coach, but for the kids-that's what it is all about. We are not all perfect like the rest of you that down us (I know that you all will cast the first stone), so get a life or a whistle and leave us alone.
  6. Name only change. Can't give a reason for the change.
  7. Binns you need to take him a rule book for baseball and basketball!!!! He tries to help the umps and refs, but fails when it comes to the rules. Just kidding!! You may know the rules better than most broadcasters, but I will catch you on most. Congrads on being around this long. You do a good job at CC. From one of your favorite refs. and umps.
  8. You are not eligible for one year from last participation. That means that you were on the TSSAA eligibility list and participated. You can play JV as soon as you transfer.
  9. You are not eligibile for one year of last participation in the sport at another school. That applies to the varsity level. You can play JV as soon as you register at the school. I think that participation means on the eligibility list at TSSAA.
  10. All the umps take note: the catcher for MTCS likes to talk about you. That is not too smartt for a catcher to do.
  11. What, nothing about the umps.
  12. Check the book there were probly over 50 fouls called in the game. SF continued to foul in the last 2 min even though they were behind by 20.
  13. To referee in TSSAA, you need to contact them at 615-889-6740 and ask for the info to be sent to you. They will send you a application that you will fill out and send back to them. At this time you will take an open book test and given the name of the association in your area. You will contact that association and find camp info for the summer and what to do before next season. Hope this helps. The TSSAA needs good referees that knows the game and hopefully have played the game. You can also get info off the web at www.tssaa.org.
  14. An intentional foul does not count as a technical; it just counts as a regular foul. The first "T" that he got was a dead ball dunk and the second was an unsporting "T". In order for you to be suspended for 2 games it has to be 2 unsporting "T's". This should be clarafied through TSSAA for a decision on the suspension or not. I hope this helps.
  15. I have told you that he is for sure not the one!!!!!!!! His wife has been in ICU for two weeks and he has spent most of his time at the hospital and besides he has trouble turning a computer on. You are all wet as usual!!!!
  16. The girl was hurt somewhere other than the school. There was no injuries at the school. Tullahoma officials really came down on the kids at the parking lot, as they should. Everything else involved other kids that just wanted to cause problems. None of the players have been involved in any of the fights. The Manchester Police, Tullahoma Police, and the Coffee County Sheriffs Dept. are ready to arrest any and all involved.
  17. Coffee County at Cumberland County will be played at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
  18. COFFEE COUNTY RESULTS KNOX- 2ND-800, 1ST-1600, 2ND-3200. SLATER-1ST- 100, 2ND-200 THORINGTON (GIRLS) 1ST- 400
  19. I wasn't at the game nor do I know why the "T's" were called, but the question I have is what rules do you want to call and what rules do you not want to call? Do you set aside the rules you don't like and call the ones you do like? I would recommend that everyone that "bashes" the refs get a rule book and see how complicated it is. Basketball is the hardest game to call.
  20. Franklin Co. Girls by about 20. Not sure the final though
