  1. Starting this thread. Bobcats should have another strong team. They lost some All-State talent, but have some up-and-coming All-State talent waiting in the wings. Especially excited to see X Randolph take the reins as full-time running back after being a tremendous spell back for Chaye McElroy a year ago. Kamauri Turner is a top-level playmaker, whatever position you line him up at. And this could be a breakout year for Amare Smith — son of GCHS legend Tyler Smith — who anchored one side of the line last year. Schedule will be challenging, as usual. Lincoln County, Nolensville, Franklin County, Page, Columbia, and Cleveland is quite the non-conference slate. Region schedule should see GCHS favored in every game, but these teams have also now had a full year to see and assess the talent that GCHS has, so games could presumably be a lot closer.
  2. Hot job just supposedly opened in 1A.
  3. Lincoln County promoted assistant Eddie Cunningham to its head coaching position. Cunningham coached at Riverdale years ago, and also coached within Lincoln County at Fayetteville before coming over to LCHS. Great dude and wishing Coach C and the Falcons best of luck.
  4. Coach Olive always a tremendous man of integrity and respect. Even in the lean years. All the best to Coach Olive in retirement.
  5. Alcoa didn't need motivation or help. They got both. They would probably win the 5A title this year. Congrats in advance on Gold Ball #20
  6. Virtually a pick 'em according to the oddsmakers for this week. I lean East Nashville based on strength of schedule, as several have already referenced.
  7. Alcoa is the Beast in the East for a reason. Winner has a tremendous chance to win a gold ball. Giles is good, but will have to be near flawless to have a shot versus Alcoa.
  8. The only Bolivar game we acknowledge is the 2003 AA Sectional. #TFletch
  9. I've been trying to figure out exactly which games you're referencing?
  10. Should be a good one. Drop your food recommendations below. The Bobcat fans love to travel and love to travel HUNGRY.
  11. Any weather advantage Cannon had could be negated by that beautiful turf up at Loudon.
  12. Loudon should win by as many as they want, but never underestimate the power of the Wing-T. The coin toss doesn't go your way, or you have a quick offensive possession and you could find yourself down 7-0 with just two minutes left in the first quarter.
  13. 49-14 Giles County. Hosts Kingston next Friday.
  14. any must-visit spots in Dunlap? Should be getting there a little early to check out the town.
  15. Tough news today as Giles County announces the game is COVID canceled. Complications within Giles County. Was really looking forward to this one. Giles County remains 5-0 after the no contest, and now Page has a few days to try and find a new opponent.
  16. Got a LONG way to go, but Giles picked up a very solid win versus a strong 5A Nolensville on Friday. We'll see.
  17. Solid little debut for Giles County, with a huge matchup versus Nolensville looming.
  18. Return 9 starters on O, 6 on D... very strong OL... solid skill players, that will come along nicely as the season progresses. Should be a fun ballgame next Friday. Always fun atmosphere over at the Pit. Hate to hear about Webb, he shredded GCHS last year.
  19. I distinctly remember paying to park one season. Thought it was ridiculous considering I was a student. Because then I had to pay to get in to my own high school's game.
  20. Just for a little bit. Had seen film on him before and came away as impressed as I was when I saw the tape. These coaches will no doubt continue to help him grow and develop as he matures this season and the next. We're ramping up our coverage of GCHS footbaw this season on WKSR. Should be a really fun season. Cannot wait to get underway.
  21. Caught some of the Giles County practice yesterday. Had an intensity that just simply was not there the last few seasons. Excited to see what's in store for the Bobcats in 2016.
  22. REMINDER: WKSR's hour-long pregame coverage of tonight's game begins at 6PM on 98.3 WKSR-FM. LISTEN ONLINE
  23. Thanks for the kind words, bobcat93. Very excited about covering the Bobcats this fall.
